World of Warcraft: Battle For Azeroth - Pirates and Dinosaurs Edition

Just did a Mythic Atal'Dazar with a PUG, and fuck me that was fun. We were all fresh on it and had to actually figure out the tactics.
It's sad that in a few weeks all the premade groups will be "350+ ilvl link uldir cutting edge failers will be kicked"
I remember getting so sick of being denied entry into Heroic TOS- despite having HC burning throne gear ( because I didn't have curve for TOS) that I started my own pug group requiring something like 920 Ilvel with no other requirements.
We one shot every boss but maiden, and I got my cool mage tower dreadblades tint. The ridiculous requirements people put on their PUG groups just smack of elitism, there's really no need for it.
I just did normal Atal'Dazar at level 114 (yeah I'm slow so what) and we had some dude bitching on the first pull three days after the expansion released. A couple people died but no one wiped the entire run but he was fighting with the tank the entire time. I don't think some people will be satisfied until they can just hit the LFG button and receive loot.
Dolly and Dot for warchief...s...
First time I did Atal'Dazar I bitched at our tank, but that's only because he was skinning every corpse and would mount up on his Yak to sell after every pull.
My first normal Waycrest Manor had a tank that would pull everything between where you were currently standing, up to the next boss.
Including the next boss.
Okay, that's a decent reason to bitch at the tank.
I did a motherlode run (what a pain in the ass by the way) where the tank grabbed every single mob, even ones out of the way, and for some reason nobody spoke up to say that he didn't have to do that.
But... you make more on the AH why would he sell it to a vendor
Don't ask me, I've never done any professions. He just skinned everything and then stood there for 2 minutes on his mount before pulling the next pack.
In lighter news though, I got lucky enough to get gifted the Kua'fon quest by a friend's friend and holy shit this thing is adorable, I wonder if Alliance gets a big mount questline like this?
WoW community is so fucking toxic, like I'm halfway through tanking heroic atal, no issues at all, no threat issues, no deaths, moving fast and just out of the blue i get kicked like wtf
I made a mistake and wandered into a place with a bunch of elites in Zandalar.
The grave is so far away rip me

I did waycrest for the first time yesterday, and all of us followed the tank as he ran to all 4 (closed) upstairs doors before we all realized no one knew what they were doing. Lead to this gem of a comment

Man, I seriously wanna get into WoW. I literally spent the last 3 hours just looking at lore videos, and I've never even played this game.
The only problem is that I don't know if I have enough time to spend to justify a subscription. Am I correct in saying that the game pushes you to be much more active than something like GW2? I was thinking of maybe just getting a month's sub and see how I feel about it.
you pretty much have to play 2-3 hours a day to get the most out of it
The game has been getting better at casual content. The mythic+ system is ideal to get high level gearing with only a few hours of time, especially if you have a good group to do them with.
Raids are also easy to do with LFR, they're split up into sections and the difficulty is lowered so people with less time have the option to do raids now.
The nice thing about WoW is that it caters to a wide audience in terms of time commitment. I don't know how it compares to GW2 because I haven't played that since a few months after it's release but there is a lot of stuff you can do in WoW with little time investment. Leveling, collecting, pet battles, casual PVE and PVP. Then there is a lot of stuff for you to get really hardcore into. The subscription aspect does sort of push you to be more active than a game you can pick up and play at will but when I feel like I'm not really interested in playing anymore I simply unsub. Since my guild died in the early days of Cataclysm I've never stayed subscribed to WoW for more than 3 or 4 month increments because I just sort of get bored, but I always come back and resub and get more than my money's worth imo.
If you have never played the game before you can buy the Complete Collection for $60, which includes the game, a character boost to 110, and a month of gametime. I wouldn't really recommend using the boost on your first character but if you just want to explore the newest content or play with friends it's there for you.
Thanks everyone for the advice/help! I think I'll buy the complete edition and see how I feel after a month. If I'm still into it, I'll resub.
Now to decide which faction to play as.
My advice would be to find a race you like and just go with whatever faction they are on.
That said I think there is an Alliance FP guild on the server Argent Dawn (i could have that wrong- i mainly play horde so ive not been able to join).
Anyone else feeling like the neck piece isn't as exciting as the artifact weapons were? When I was levelling up my weapon it felt exciting as you were always working towards the next exciting ability on it, which in turn made me do more content for the AP tokens. The current traits on the other hand feel so temporary as you switch out the gear so quickly all the time anyway. It's making me not care about going for all the AP world quests as much. Maybe it will feel better when we get up to raid gear that we are going to keep for a longer time.
Most FPers I know on US largely reside on RP servers Mg or WrA. Me included. If you ever RP and wanna hit me up just ask for a Troll named Ooraji or contact me here.
I dont think it's true you get a month of game time when you buy the expansion because it still made me pay the sub fee after buying it and it's supposed to renew next month
I don't think it's as exciting and frankly I don't really care for the system at all.
Did Blizzard give away Legion at some point in the last 2 years, or at least offer a real cheap discount for returning players?
Because I own it, and I remember playing the start of the content, but I don't actually have any memory of buying it, and it's not mentioned on my account purchase history.
Legion is included in the base subscription package now, only BFA isn't. As for the level 90 boost, that was from buying WoD.
You've never gotten gametime with expacs, you used to get one if you bought the base game though.
You don't get a month from BFA, you do get a month from the Complete Collection.
Found a fun bug where all the high health high lvl npcs of Anyport are hostile when you first enter the place. Suffice to say they murdered me like the pirates they are. But they were super chill when I came back.
Man it's stupid having to wait for this ship to go back to kul tiras from stormwind
