When are we going to get a Create your own Belmont Castlevania souls-like?
All From need to do is make whips fun.
Whips are fun. Don't you find slow attacks, low damage, and bad scaling fun? You reminded me that I still have to beat DS3 with a whip, thanks.
Witch's Locks is probably the only whip in the game that can dish out decent damage, but it's a shame it's basically near the end of the game lol.
That would be the sickest game ever created. Seriously. Imagine all the awesome areas and monsters from Symphony of the Night done in a 3d Souls style. It would work perfectly well, with all the bosses leading up to the final encounter with Dracula. I need this.
I played Symphony of the Night for the first time a week ago, and i kept wondering why Soulslike games weren't dubbed "3DVanias" instead. So many of the systems and structures of the Souls games mirror SotN, and presumably other Castlevania games.
Hey I found my Age of Fire comic review. It was page 3. Note it only contains a review for 1 and 3, but I'll gladly give my thoughts on this... oh wondrous mini finale. So...nothing happens. At all.The only thing to note is that the main hero "hakon" "harkon" somehow stumbled onto THE FIRST FLAME witnessing Gwyn being burnt to cinders by the primordial fire and somehow doesn't get attacked. Then he fights a hollow of some dude, gets called a "traitor to the gods" by the silver knights, and runs away. No clue what happens to the Dragon Covenant lady after finding her half hollowed out so thanks comic I guess? Shit art happens, and we fade to black. MANY YEARS PASS, and get this, it's DS1 in the Undead Asylum. The Chosen Undead was wandering the Undead Asylum cells and it turns out "Harkon" was the sword and shield Black Knight in the Asylum the WHOLE TIME. He monologues that the years as a knight has destroyed his mind and now seeks to end it all as the character of the first game kills him in a riposte! THE END. 0/10 bad comic.
I didn't expect it to be amazing but it sounds awful.
It is pretty awful, but more power to you find you can find the backgrounds to be great and look like the in game graphics of the last three games. You'll never find a good story, well drawn character, or good dialogue anywhere unless you're good for a laugh. #1 and #3 were full of that. My problem about all this (story spoilers) is that finale cements the idea it alludes to nothing. It gives you some theories on what happened in between the prologue and DS1, but they hardly do anything but give us what we already know. We KNOW that the silver knights tried to kill the demons but got their asses charred and kicked, we KNOW Artorias went to Oolacile because the abyss was coming, and we KNOW Seathe was up to shady shit but nothing felt like they were given good explanations. This could have been a good idea for the creator to do some funky story of his own with the world at his fingertips and squanders it.
been on a dark souls playthrough spree recently & got the DS3 design works book, so i made a little sketch to celebrate https://66.media.tumblr.com/d96a3c82d5d4173a381ed61457a78cee/tumblr_pli0cdU4LO1u5c47mo1_1280.jpg
That "little sketch" looks fucking amazing, nice job!
Any bored people with a renweal interest in DS3 interested in joining me and a friend (or two) in a brand new Dark Souls 3 adventure? It's no normal Dark souls 3 adventure though, because we're going in with tripple enemy count. We just got to the Half-way fotress and good lord is that swamp now a slot, with the army of tree men and crabs in it.
after always rolling dex i'm doing my first ever pure-strength heavy-infused UGS run, in the form of a supremely buff trap called MUSCLE TWINK. the damage is almost as satisfying as Daddy Andre's firm yet sensitive embrace
Funnily enough, I've been just going my first actual Dex build for my latest DKS3 run. Man, it's hard not big sword swish swooshing. Sellsword's makes up for it though. I feel like I'm almost cheating.
God do i wish the Gold and Silver Tracers were in III, but at least the Painting Guardian Curved Swords are there. I might not ever do DEX builds if it weren't for them. Love how they swap out "Curved" for "Blood" when you modify them too because the name would be too many characters long otherwise
http://i.imgur.com/Ww3oFW6.jpg Funny enough Ciaran's daggers can actually be found in the game's files but can't be used without modding. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6vOSWDgnD0 They are completely functional and have their own unique moveset, that being said.
first time going through the DLC for DS3, man the valorheart made me respec from complete strength to quality. this weapon is soo cool.
This is an outrage.
The basic moveset on them seems incomplete, but the rest looks functional. A shame really, DS3 has plenty of unused content that would be a nice addition for some variability. On the tripple enemy run I'm doing with someone, we got to the abyss watchers after the miserable experience of the swamp with SO MANY GRUE. The abyss watchers were horrific, there was 9 of them. Cathedral of the deep is also horrible in the graveyard section. It's just a wall of maggot hollows in ever increasing number. I can't wait to see what the run of to Prince Lothric is like.
While I don't need the help in fighting the Gargoyles... https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110377/4a783a66-576d-4c51-93f1-a4fbf600f545/image.png There was no way I could pass up having these two fight along side me.
he's not even yellow, smh

So if people go crazy hollow if they lack a purpose, why not have the undead do crafts for all eternity? Like have them do small, near meaningless tasks so they don't become insane. Better than dumping them all in a hole. Knick knacks will save the day.
Isn't that pretty much Andre's story, only thing keeping him sane is that +9999999 Estoc he's been working on for millennia https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/229519/dc6c7967-d9a1-4f4c-8cb9-fdcbb8ae7c50/Andre_(2).jpg
Because that isn't a real purpose, the person would know they're just doing some boring menial task for no reason other than to prevent hollowing which would probably just speed up the process. Same way having a boring meaningless job in real life doesn't give a person meaning or purpose. Having some great quest like saving the world, or some deep personal mission is what a hollow really needs.
If that's the case then Andre should recruit more people. If what you say is true then blacksmithing is the salvation people seek.
That gif made me watch the video again. Andre has trancended mere sanity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ua0zMsDiAyg
keep in mind though the deep personal mission doesn't have to be difficult or brave or anything, like the lady in the aqueduct in DS1 seems happy enough just collecting moss and literal shit. so really the best way is to just become the I FUCKING LOVE COLORING kid and be totally fulfilled with your stamp collection or something
I mean sure but I also got the impression from her and the other merchant guy that they're basically on the very tip of hollowing anyway. Like sure they technically aren't hollow, but they're also too far gone to do anything other than scrap moss off a wall or sell the shit they pick up off the floor.
Well, Patches stayed sane for all of time in the best way possible. His purpose was being an asshole for all of time. Even at the end of time, he was still there, being an asshole.
