Kinda surprised I'm not seeing much pre-release hype for Sekiro. I almost forgot that it was even coming out this month.
Maybe because its not a previous IP like DaS and it doesn't have Sony behind it advertising it as an exclusive like Bloodborne did
or maybe it's because no one wants to discuss the latest trailers and news because it's starting to get a bit spoilery
everyone i know and myself are incredibly excited for the game, but i kinda don't want to read any discussions i've played a bit of the game
I'm super hyped for this game but I'm trying to avoid anything that could spoil it for me. Especially since there have been people uploading those "So I've been playing Sekiro for 3 hours" videos. I guess many people are in the same boat.
I've literally been counting down the days left till release for like 2 weeks now. Can't wait.
I'm expecting a world of difference in reactions between people who try to treat it as Ninja Souls and those who treat it as its own thing and a Tenchu successor, given stuff like the lack of customisation, armour sets, and builds.
Yeah, it surprised me as well.
Although that said, I am probably in a minority but my interest in Souls-esque games has died down after DkS3. I absolutely adore From Software and played the games numerous times but I have a sense of fatigue of the entire formula. I enjoyed DkS3 far less because it felt so derivative of the previous games.
Bloodborne was a great step towards spicing up the formula.
Based on the gameplay I've seen Sekiro is the kind of game that will thrive on post-launch word of mouth and "look at this cool shit you can do" clips.
I'm not really surprised, everyone I know who would be interested in it (fans of the Souls games/Bloodborne) has taken the stance of "I'm going to get it anyway, time to avoid all promotional material", and there's not much to talk about when you do that.
Haven't seen much marketing for it either, other than Colin Furze doing videos making stuff from it, but not sure how much that's going to attract people to the game.
Shit, guys. Sekiro comes out in 4 days and i haven't even preordered my copy yet.
Already? I thought it was in April at first, but yeah this game snuck up on me.
Any word on a PC pre-load?
Been out of the loop a long time, if i wanted to make a weird DS3 build involving spells, miracles, hexes, and hitting people with my spell stick, which spell tools should i shoot for? I know it won't super viable but some of my favorite builds in DS2 involved Mace ofthe Insolent, Sanctum Shield, Blue Flame, Pilgrim's Spontoon, etc so despite DS3s lacking options i kinda recapture some of that, well, magic. Izalith longstick boosts Hexes and seems to have decentish melee damage but i'd like some advice.
If you really wanna' embrace the "bop enemies with my magic stick" I'd definitely suggest the Preacher's Right Arm from the Ringed City DLC.
It has a *very slightly* lower Spell Buff compared to other staves but it's weapon art is a hilariously powerful slapper that can be spammed easily and hits for tons of damage, making it well worth it.
Friday can't come soon enough

Download size was only 12.3 gb
Wasn't DS3 a lot bigger?
I think that's only because the files for Sekio are compressed, unless I'm missing something and the reason why DS3 is so large is because of all the cut content still within the game.
DS3 is 25 gigs on disk, yeah.
DS3 was like 20gb so yeah. Not sure why it's so small
I hope this doesn't mean it's a smaller game. Given how detailed the combat is and what they're taking with the story, I really hope this game doesn't fall short of 15-20 hours.
Depends how replayable it is. If the skill system allows for a lot of different playstyles, I'd be ok with it not being a huge game.
I understand wanting to go into any game blind, let alone a FromSoft game, but I just watched the launch trailer and my knowledge of what to expect has not increased what so ever. I have a very limited understanding of the game's setting so everything kinda just bounced off.
Really hype for the game tho, shit seems rad.
The_Happy_Hob just finished "The God Run" which is Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 1, 2 and 3, and Bloodborne (not necessarily in that order) all back to back without taking a single hit.

Just in time for Sekiro! (also if he failed to complete before Sekiro launched he'd have to get a tattoo of Asmongold)
I just saw like three ads on Facebook, I'm probably just buying it and see what awaits me.
Also, without asking to much, does it have multiplayer?
I haven't seen a review for Sekiro that's been less than a 9. Reviewers are going so far as to call it the new standard for the series (we'll really have to see about that.)
Not that I expected anything less from From at this point. Can't wait for tomorrow!
Preordered my copy just in time to get the little katana letter opener. Aw yeah. Excited since I've basically looked at nothing for this game compared to bloodborne
This is the first time I've been going into a souls-like completely blind. I've seen the first gameplay trailer and that's it
I haven't watched any trailer or additional information, but I gathered that the bread and butter of Sekiro Gameplay is using your various moves and tools on the fly in order to counter enemy moves and/or exploit their weaknesses and deal damage in a frantic combat system.
If that's the case, it could be one of my favorite games ever
Just now realized that sekiro has no multiplayer componet, damn, that'll be interesting.
