Here's something cool I got, King's Field Dark Side Box, made for From Software's 20th Anniversary, released only in Japan.
https://imgur.com/a/sh3yyq1
Starting off with the box, comes with a rough surface, shiny logo and embossed From Software logo. You pull this top sleeve off to reveal the contents.
Inside is a box with the games and a folder with a map, visual book and instruction manuals for each game.
The box of discs folds out like a carpet, inside are King's Field 1 to 4, best of soundtrack and "memorial disc" with a bunch of trailers.
Visual book is mostly in-game shots but there was a dozen pages of concept art.

Ahhh, a Hunter is a Hunter even as a figma!
I’ll post how it looks a bit later.
I'm not the biggest lore buff so I'm probably far off the mark, but while re-watching the intro to DS2 I'd forgotten that the portal to Vendrick is located at the bottom of the sea and it got me thinking about the 'Age of the Deep Sea' that Aldrich dreamed of, it would feel in tone for this great new future of his to actually be a glimpse into a kingdom destroyed long ago
On the other hand DS3 pretty much ignores most of DS2 so there's probably no actual connection, still haf me thinking

So I sniped Jerma today.
i really want to finish bloodborne but i come back to it like every 3 months and have no idea where i am or what i'm doing.
Time to start a new playthrough.
I've only finished the Soulsborne series like a month ago and I can't stop thinking about how good it was. It was like a hard drug and now I want some more. Too bad I can't afford Remastered yet though.
Anyway, I like the order in which I played the DS series: 1 - 3 - 2. Somehow it feels logical.
I just finished 1 for the first time a couple weeks ago and I started 2 last week. Better late than never
Did you patch an iso or is there a patched one floating around? Should I play the first Shadow Tower before I play Abyss?
I had a pre-patched iso. There is one at http://www.swordofmoonlight.com/shadowtowerabyssmain/ but you need to register to download.
Googling "Shadow Tower Abyss" will get you other sites you can get it from too.
I haven't actually played the first Shadow Tower yet beyond quickly testing it. There's some references to it in Abyss, I don't think it's absolutely necessary to play but you might as well try it out, it's also quite atmospheric and surreal.
I also found a neat article of STA by Destructoid.

I've played the original Shadow Tower and it's loads of fun, provided that you're into that slow-paced King's Field style gameplay, albeit I'd say a lot more refined and focused than King's Field. It's one of my favourite PS1 games. Combat-wise it's much simpler than Abyss, as Abyss has guns and the multi-directional limb hacking system, whereas Shadow Tower just has a regular attack, a shield, and various rings you can equip to use magic. So give it a shot, but be prepared for very clunky controls because it took until Armoured Core Nexus for From to figure out that you could use a second stick for camera movement. Using the stick for the camera is somewhat janky even in Abyss where it's an option.
It also shows off that proto-Souls DNA very heavily, between the storytelling, small handful of NPCs including an NPC who ends every conversation with shifty laughter, and a poison swamp zone. Hell, the concept of the final boss would be reused in a later game, with how it's adisgusting, weak creature hiding behind a powerful actual final boss.
speaking of armored core, I want to start playing armored core. where should I start playing armored core?
There's three styles of Armoured Core. The original style which goes from 1 right up until Silent Line, then there's 4 and For Answer which is about going fast and flying a lot, and then there's 5/VD which was mostly multiplayer focused and not really worth starting with. If you want to go fast, start with For Answer. Otherwise, you move onto the classic series.
Do you want to be able to use the right stick to control the camera? Start with Nexus. Do you not care about having to use L2 and R2 to look up and down? Then you can start anywhere, really. You can start with 1 if you want to try the PS1 games first, or you can pick 3 or Silent Line.
Whatever you do, don't play Last Raven first, it was intended for people who had played the rest of the series first and the difficulty level reflects this.
holy shit For Answer is 90 bucks new on amazon what are they doing?
You can get copies for either console for fifteen bucks on Ebay.
also speaking of which: ARMOREDCORE ORIGINALSOUNDTRACK 20th ANNIVERSARY BOX

Went ahead and played through Shadow Tower.
It has it's moments and freaky creature designs but ultimately winds up being a fairly average (very dark) fantasy RPG deal.
It also has this weird VS mode where two players can control monsters from their save files in a fighting mini-game and put up each other's items for.
It's completely unbalanced, of course, since the monsters have massively varying attack speeds and reach.
how similar is it to kings field
Basic gameplay is just about the same, tank controls, attack power meter etc.
Essentially a King's Field spinoff.
Differences and such:
No standard RPG level up system, each enemy yields a small boost to some stat, depending on the enemy.
Enemies are limited in number, meaning you can't grind.
Equipment is very brittle, repaired with HP.
Money is Cune, only found in limited amounts.
No selling, you can exchange equipment for a HP/MP potions.
More stats than King's Field, 14 total.
You can block with shields.
Magic is cast with rings that lose durability from use.
Lots of darkness, has many items for light.
Has voiced dialogue for characters.

This morning I was casually strolling inside a local GameStop and found this on sale.
I grabbed it almost instantly because I've always wanted to get my hands on some sort of affordable Bloodborne collectable
The Hunter Amiibo for Bloodborne Kart! Good find!
So this happened to my friend on DS:R
https://youtu.be/JLfK2N4govM
I'm actually confused on what happened. He assumed he fell through the world, but I don't know
Huh, after getting the Moonlight Greatsword in DS:R, it's honestly a bit...disappointing. Even at +5 with 50 intelligence, it only has 480 attack rating, while the +5 lightning claymore I made for cutting off Seath's tail easily is at 515 for the same weight and stat requirements, and is much easier to get. I thought the S-rank scaling with int would make it a beast at Rick and Morty IQ levels.
Its pure magic damage kind of makes up for it though as less people are resistant to magic in PvP than physical damage, unless the opponent is running something like Great Magic Barrier.
What sort of weapon should I use for a faith build? Going sunbro, hurling lightning spears then getting up close and personal. Astora straight sword is a little bit pants, lusting after something like my good old zweihander.
I like the crescent axe and grant. They're not super optimal, but it's better than Astora's. It also depends on your stats. You could have a faith buff, and just like, any weapon. Or two, one for buffs and one that you put divine on.
Ah, I don't really do PvP unless forced to, so I didn't know that
