Has anyone heard about the new Dark Souls comics "The Age of Fire?" Apparently its a prequel to the franchise with accurate lore locations, characters, events, and such. I just ordered a couple and can't wait to get them in the mail. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/S/cmx-images-prod/Item/650684/650684._SX1280_QL80_TTD_.jpg
Is it made by the same people that did those awful ds3 comics?
someone posted it on /v/ a while ago. it was pretty janky
Never forget Solaire with the frowny sun https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/189448/c2cd423c-ba68-4892-905b-65d555210b0c/68339981-731C-469D-A11F-118FF3E38830.jpeg
The Bloodborne comic isn't much better. The panels don't so much as flow or convey a sense of motion so much as snap to random poses. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1844/152b3116-d472-48b1-a72a-a3101d38a363/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1844/9e94befb-e263-4e4c-827d-48235035640c/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1844/ef5a387f-deca-4666-a17c-a6f81a90f868/image.png
Is it just me or does the last panel of that first page look less like he's running and more like he just tripped over a cobblestone and is about to fall over?
While I can admire the amount of work that went into drawing these pages, all of it just feels so...off-brand.
Boobplate? In my Dark Souls? One whack of the mace to that and her sternum's gonna snap like a breadstick
I can't get over all those fucking worried faces in the second panel lmao

I heard about the DS2 comics, but DS3 has comics now? Oh GOOD LORD! What's wrong with your faaace?! https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/S/cmx-images-prod/Item/662085/Previews/09a568edf67b088c090a8b7db35a85cc._SX1280_QL80_TTD_.jpg
I'm about to replay the whole Souls-borne series for the second time, doing a fresh New Game since I lost my saves. Is there a good place on the web to find what I might have missed? (Optional areas, illusory walls, side-quests, etc)
Hello Firekeeper. I am going into battle and I want your strongest estus.
You'll want these Dark Souls Cheat Sheet Dark Souls 2 Cheat Sheet Dark Souls 3 Cheat Sheet Bloodborne Cheat Sheet Unfortunately, DeS doesn't have one, so you'll just have to do something with the Platinum Trophy Guide.
Amazing, more than I could have hoped for. Thank you!
So I read both Dark Souls: The Age of Fire #1 and #3 because #2 was not available physically for some reason. Not much to spoil because it's essentially going through DS1's background. No DS3 elements besides Anor Londo being where Irithyll of the Boreal Valley is alluding that the Valley is the lower city in conjunction to the city of the Gods and the Undead Burg is apart of the Valley. I didn't want to make a separate comic megathread as I don't know how many users are comic readers and I only read like three series in total anyway so I'd get old fast. The Good + Backgrounds are neat. Gives that medieval oil painting feel to them. + Story is fine, the original characters like Arkon and Gravis are fine and not OP pls nerf. Dialogue is fitting for the setting given some characters speak with Shakespearean accents mimicking the Dark Souls way of speaking just fine. They serve as decent stand-ins for the readers to observe the lore unfold and see old favorites. Speaking of which... + The issues indicate that things are going in the order lore theorists predicted. Gwyn and the knights along with Seathe kill the dragons, we speed up to the Age of Fire, Gwyn sends Arkon and half of the Silver Knight legion to Izailith to kill the demons birthed by the Witch which gets their suits all charred making them the Black Knights. A plague of "undead" breaks out, where the channelers are responsible for migrating them to Asylums(along with the conspiracy of kidnapping female clerics), then Artorias goes to Oolacile to fight the Abyss. + The story alludes that the Path of the Dragon, a covenant where Gravis serves, were allies of Gwyn much like Seathe the Scaleless, to become immortal like the dragons were. Everyone barring Arkon hates her after the war. +/- I find it hilarious how in the beginning of #1 Arkon gets his squad kill by a dragon only for Artorias to kill it. Leaving Arkon alone and Gywn promotes Arkon thinking he was the one that killed it, which only gives him a title that does fuck all really. "You killed this dragon?" "Ah well you see-" "That's awesome! I'm calling you 'Dragonkiller!' People in Lordran will know of your deeds! "But I didn't...ah fine." The Bad If you saw the preview I posted, the character art is HIDEOUS! Like 'does the artist even grasp human anatomy' bad. It's not online, but there's a segment in issue #1 where Arkon fights some normal goons, and his slash attack is his whole body standing straight up as he just hold his sword out to his side and bisects a due running towards him. Artorias does a Superman pose as he slides in the air GONZO studio style to slit a dragons neck. It's a fucking SPLASH PAGE! Gravis is the only good-looking character in this series, and Arkon never take his Silver Knight helm off. The art makes it seem like he's bashful to show his possible tiny head under it. Also apparently shields are made of wet tissue paper as in one moment one is sliced perfectly vertical with no tear. While stuff happens in this series not related to the lore, it just doesn't go anywhere. In #1 Arkon was investigating the disappearing maidens by the channelers. The head of them "not-Mozgus" tells him to fuck off and he does. Not-Mozgus is also part of the group herding the cursed people to the Asylums, but he dies before saying anything more because apparently the word of the asylum-herding was confidential to only the lords and Seathe who kills him. Anyone know about the Spiderman ride in Universal Studios Florida? The story feels 80% that with Arkon and Gavis as the vehicles on rails to basically observe the world of Lordran unfold around them. Sometimes they are part of the story, sometimes they are not. In #3 Artorias and "Black knight" Arkon scuffle a bit in Oolacile, then they stop because the charred armor makes Artorias think he was the enemy and Arkon speaks to get Arty to understand. Almost "Tug on collar shirt" levels of cringe. While the serpents like Frampt and Kaathe along with the Lordvessel have yet to appear (I have not read #2 yet), but apparently Arkon can just waltz right into the Kiln of the First Flame stalking Gwyn with no resistance. I know this is before DS1, but It could NOT have been that easy! Oh and Arkon was the one to see Gwyn link the First Flame without bursting into flames with him. #3 ends on this note, but my guess is that Gywn's sacrifice does NOT reset the word like what we do in the Link the Fire ending. I wonder if #4 this month will address this. Verdict so far: Issue #1 - 2/5 (bad art more prevalent here) Issue #3 - 3/5. If you're a lore nut who wants to see pretty backgrounds as the comic pretty much gives us the lore found from the descriptions in the games and/or want to see the "so bad it's good" character artwork you'll like it fine. If the awful character looks and on-rails story telling doesn't cut it you then by all means skip it.
Just had an invasion where the invader and myself but managed to hit each other with killing blows at the same time. I gained souls, though I had to pick them up again. I wonder if it was the same for him.
So I wanted more Dark Souls, but there isn't any, so I got Bloodborne instead. I'm largely enjoying it thus far, though it does have a lot of weird and convoluted level design where you reach dead ends and locked doors that you have to come back to later. This also happened. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XRN7pe9f1Yg

Yeah, no thanks. I mean, they recently released a (controversial) port for the original Dark Souls, I hate Dark Souls II with a passion and I already own the PC port of Dark Souls III, so I have basically no reason whatsoever to bother with this compilation. I don't even know to what kind of players it is even aimed at, to be honest, since, again, Dark Souls Remastered was published some time ago, DS II: Scholar of the FIrst Sin has already been ported to the next gen console and Dark Souls III was released on them to begin with
Never understood why we can't hack dudes apart in these games. Like, how cool would it be to just slice a fucking werewolf in half?
Lack of time, engine limitations maybe?

new Seikiro gameplay btw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZC1pHkKKkkA
I really like the flow of combat in that, but I can already tell I'm going to get tired of that neck stabbing animation.
I guess this trilogy is for people who still haven't jumped in to the series AND are willing to buy all 3 games at once. Maybe it'll be cheaper to buy this than to buy the other 2 games. Just looking at Gamestop's site, DS1R is 40, DS2 is 30, and DS3 is 20. I'm guessing this collection will be 60 then. So, if someone like DS2 or DS3, hey, here's your shot if you somehow haven't gotten the others yet. I have no idea how big that market is though.
Welp, after 3 years of trying to get into Bloodborne and giving up, I think it may have finally grabbed me. So far, I've beaten Father Gasoline, and Blood Starved Beast, but now I'm kind of lost. I got killed by one of those guys that swing the body bags, and now I have no idea where I am or where to go.
If I remember right killing bsb opens a door in the chapel with the little blind bro.
