I find being aggressive against her to be the most consistent. Just keep hitting her until she deflect your attack, then she will either: hit you with the kick combo, which you can parry and interrupt; go for a sweep, which you can jump and stomp her; or jump away, which you should use shuriken to get some free hits in.
I did not think of using shurikens. Sounds rather nice.
One my second attempt I stunlocked her and took down one bar because she was not reacting all that much. Got luckily there, until I realized there is still more to the fight.
This game is great but I have no idea how far I am through it, or how much shit I've missed, but I don't want to look up anything because spoilers. It's rather unique how in the dark it makes you feel.
I kind of messed up my first playthrough a bit and felt like I did poorly. So, I started a new playthrough and noticed tons of hints and new npcs.
Especially during the dialogues, there are some neat tips in those. Even when eavesdropping.
I'm in NG+ right now and I've noticed that I missed an entire character questline and everything I love it.
I fought him without the spear. It’s not required to break armour. I kicked him off the bridge with a Deathblow
The spear can't break his armour anyway. He literally can't take damage, you have to knock him off the bridge.
To be as vague as possible, near the end you'll have to make a choice.
Fuck the iron code (especially if its your first run)
Pat and woolie said they recieved a PDF from activision detailing the systems to the game. Apparently spamming the block to parry actually cuts the window down massively if it doesnt connect. Like 20 frames to like 3, so make sure you try to be somewhat accurate and not spam the button.
Sekiro is pretty, nice and all but... the camera is just atrocious. It's maddening.
I only find it to be a problem in very confined areas. Most of the time, it's okay. But there are some times, like the Long Swordsman mini boss that frustrated me a bit.
The camera is certainly my worst enemy in any small area. I had the camera get STUCk during a boss fight. I was thrown with a grab attack, and went under some little outcrop. The camera got stuck in it and I couldn't find out where I was. Luckily the boss couldn't hit me either. I eventually got out by spamming grapple.
you can get 3 endings with technically 1 playthrough as they all require the final boss, just some other things beforehand need to be done

the sekiro sub has some gem posts rn
I had one of those chicken sneak up and kick me off a cliff into a boss fight. That was fun.
After playing so much DMC 5 I wish the empty select button had a taunt button. Or just be able to emote at NPC's to see their reactions like in DS.

4 playthroughs later no save cheesing.
great game enjoyed it alot and makes me sad at the same time that bloodborne will never be 60fps
anyone able to help, I've just done the genichiro ashina battle at the top of the castle, and now my doctor woman at the temple has vanished, and its a pain because I have a gourd seed to give her and she's literally nowhere to be found, any idea where she's gone?
Kuro's room, upstairs Kuro's room, Temple and Isshin's placeare usually where she hangs out
She's right through the door after you beat him. You'll need to talk to Kuro (and Isshin I think) and reset the area for her to actually take your seeds and boost your gourd.
oh is that her lmfao, i recognized the voice i just thought it was someone else. yeah I've spoken to kuro but she just keeps telling me the same thing and I cant give her anything
Yeah. You need to talk to Isshin then. If he's available he's out in the smaller tower, you can get to it on the rooftops by following the smoke signals out the window of Kuro's room.
You should always be attacking. It usually causes them to finally deflect a hit and then go for an easy slash which you can deflect yourself. It also increases their posture as long as they don't deflect the hit.
Yeah, generally the best course of action is to get in their face and keep the pressure on them. Deflecting attacks is more of an offensive guard than a defensive move.
Get it, stand your ground, and slap away all their attacks. You should only pull back to recover posture/health, or of the enemy is doing an AoE. Literally every boss I've had trouble with was because I got intimidated and backed up, I always succeeded when I swallowed my nerves and got in their face.
Many of the late-game bosses just can't be flinched and only have openings to be hit after specific attacks.
Just getting in their face won't work if you can't strike them before the next attack animation, and the later bosses are very good at keeping the pressure up, forcing you to wait for a window of opportunity.
Well a lot of it is watching the animations and learning.
EspeciallyIsshin. You have to watch what he is actually doing, same goes for any boss but he is a good example. Sometimes when you swing at him he'll do an animation that looks like he's turning away to dodge and he will always without question follow it up with an attack which punishes you if were to go for another swing. The same for his 3 hit combo you can always get an attack or two in after the final swing.
Aside from the bosses that don't block / parry your attacks e.g. beasts, being aggressive works almost every time. Even the final boss can be stuck in a loop if you're aggressive enough.
Most bosses have a 'stunned' state if you deflect the last attack in their stronger combos. The game absolutely intends for you to get in and stay in as long as you can.
Played a bit of NG+ and it's just boring. I really wish From would change up NG+ in their games just a bit.
Its amazing how awful the Blazing Bull fight is.
Go fuck yourself.
