Forum might get nuked. Love you duders.
Why would we get nuked?
Garry is throwing a tantrum.

so after ragequitting DS1 years ago, then completing DS2, DS3 and getting platinum on Bloodborne I'm ready to play DS:R and hit that shit
What made you try DS2 (or whichever you played first) after quitting on DS1? Why'd ya save DS1 for the (almost) end, as well, if you already owned it (unless you returned it)? I'm super curious.
I'm curious as well. Especially since apparently you had the guts to suffer through Dark Souls II, which really is something
no lies, I took the DS1 disk out and tossed it across the room so hard it slid into a tiny gap between two drawers, I lost it for basically two years and it didn't work when I found it again. a while after leaving DS1 I watched the Two Best Friends playthrough of DS2 and decided I liked it, so I got it on the PC and gave it a go. Same thing happened with BB, I got a PS4 on sale and copped BB too. When I finished that, DS3 had just come out, so I wanted to play it while it was still most popular.

I'm surprised he didn't make the connection that the guy standing on the cover of the book is doing a similar pose as the Hunter on Bloodborne's box cover, but actually is wearing garb similar to that of the Sekiro protag. Or, at least it looks like it to me. Also, the Sea-Faring Sage's description, that it "appears in bad dreams, to watch over those who attempt to leave", reminds me a lot of Kos inhabiting the Hunter's nightmare and preventing them from escaping for what Byrgenwerth did at the fishing hamlet.
I was just about to share that. I did plan on getting this game at one point, but if what Max is saying is in the game, one can only hope that this IS some hint at a much larger plan outside this VR game. "unfinished tale" is just a near blatant way of saying "The story was never finished, or was it?" Then again this could be the next pendant, but unlike the pendant my chances of my blood blood level spiking would be 100%. Got to give Miyazaki credit for going all out with these hints if they will ever mean anything.
Part of me thinks Max is reaching a bit too far and these are just fun nods to Bloodborne. At the same time part of me wants to believe this is a hint towards a sequel. It's hard to be hyped nowadays because you never know what you'll really get. If Bloodborne 2 is announced it certainly won't be releasing anytime soon due to Sekiro still being developed. Unless From has two teams working at once...
Arent they supposed to be working on a Armored Core as well?
I do think it's the latter. Many devs make easter eggs with pop cultrual references and history nods like GTA, CoD, SW, and so on. FromSoftware goes far and beyond with their eggs by making items specifically tying to their last games, give them hidden guides on how to unlock them( The call to the Great Ones with the doll), and give the items their own description with words containing "unfinished tale". You don't see Battlefront II dropping hints for the next Star Wars movie, but you do see NPC's in Fallout hint at areas only obtained through upcoming games or DLC.
Pretty sure they're just easter eggs and nothing more. Fromsoft isn't really the type to be leaving ARG-tier hints at their next game so I don't really expect that from them.
As of E3, From Software was working on 3 titles, one of which was unannounced but related to an existing IP. They also dropped hints this year about working on a new sci-fi game. From Software's teams also don't really break between projects. Bloodborne was being planned in 2011, just after dark souls came out (possibly even earlier), and was in development by 2012. Dark Souls 3 began development a year before Dark Souls 2 was even out. Sekiro has been in development since 2015. Even when not directly developing games, From Software does a lot of prototyping and experimenting, often using WIP games as testing platforms. There's got to be an Armored Core in there somewhere.
Anyone notice a theme a bit? Each passing game the years start to catch up. Dark Souls was Dark ages, DS2/DS3 was Late Medieval, Bloodborne was Victorian, and Seiko looking it it came from the Edo period. IMHO the only Armoured Core game coming soon will be a remake, with new games probably another action only going further up the time line unless one game jumps up super past the modern times ala the sci-fi game. My theory is that the next games will continue to experiment with old-time advanced weaponry and techniques ala Bloodborne and DS3 before jumping to a much more further out timeline culminating in the ultimate sci-fi action rpg game to possibly rival Cyberpunk.
If I may ask, is Dèracinè only playable with a Playstation VR set or is there an option to play it even without said hardware? I may give it a go at some point, but I'm really not that interested into VR gaming at the present
I liked King's Field. but there are not many games like King's Field. here is a game by a dude whose primary inspiration was King's Field. I have been following it's progress for a while. if you liked King's Field you should check it out too: https://steamcdn-a.akamaihd.net/steam/apps/908360/header.jpg?t=1541888909 Monomyth on Steam there is much more media and little videos on his twitter
You know, something has been bothering me since playing Bloodborne. What's the lore behind the snake balls and snake people? Like, I understand the beasts and alien stuff, but what do the snakes gotta do with it? Are they another strain of beast-hood or something?
Something tells me that seems like a job for Devolver Digital. Perhaps if Metal Wolf Chaos does well enough, FromSoft would be able to make a new Armored Core game that's published by DD?
Miyazaki has been teasing about a new Armored Core for a while. They definitely haven't forgotten about the series and it's most likely in production at some stage. I just hope they don't try to make it a weird co-op game again.
I liked verdict day. Not my favorite, but I think there's a lot of fun ideas there they could bring forward and expand on. Going all formula front with the unacs was fun
I want another Armored Core and I want it to be faster than AC4 was. I want to get motion sickness
I still do not understand how anyone can argue that DS2 is the worst game in the series in a world where DS3 exists.
Well DS3 is a good game while DS2 is half good game half trash fire.
I mean you say that but "half good game, half trash fire" describes pretty much every game in the series to be honest.
