The way Dark Souls' world is connected benefits its replayability very much. Once you've get used to the game you can pretty much go and finish an end game build to play around or test within half an hour or one. You can skip so much stuff and get straight to the things you want so easily without waiting for the tutorial or any story exposition stuff. It makes replaying the game a much better experience.
For those looking to experience the next souls-borne series be sure to check out Virtual Hydlide, you can thank me later.
So what do you like about the Hydlide series? I've uhh... not seen a lot of positivity around it. One of the games where you explore a mansion for one of the first dungeons seemed alright, but that's as far as I go with the series.
Someone on the dev team really didn't like babies.
https://gematsu.com/2018/12/from-software-has-two-unannounced-titles-in-development So, who's up for some wild speculation? (One of them is probably that Armoured Core they're apparently making)
I just want Bloodborne 2
👏 give 👏 us 👏 armored 👏 core 👏
More Metal Wolf Chaos.
If they are doing bloodborne 2 then at this stage they're probably aiming for it to be a next gen launch title. If I was to guess. Other project is "Dark Souls 4: the flame fadeth even more than it did last timeth edition"
Bloodborne Kart
So today another big mod overhaul mod was released for the original Dark Souls, Daughters of Ash. Basically, the author took pre-existing assets from the game and cut content to expand on the original progression, with modified areas, new enemies and bosses, original NPCs and expanded lore references. Note that, as I'm writing this, the mod is still being fixed and is only available for Steam's Prepare to Die Edition of the game. You know, the one removed from the store some months ago. I'd like some feedback, as it's the first Dark Souls overhaul I find somewhat interesting
Huh, looks like I might have to reinstall DaS Kinda light on info though, have you started playing this yourself? Early impressions?
I have a kinda busy free time schedule at the moment, but I'd like to wait for more updates first regardless
i've played some of it, so i'll give my first impressions i've gotten up to the belfy gargoyles and not TOO much has been changed. a surprising amount of stuff has been shifted around, including bonfire locations, and a few changes make it so you actually have to take a new route through the game, like not being able to cross the Undead Burg bridge because the dragon spews fire more consistently (you have to go through Darkroot Basin) andthe New Londo door being locked (though you can open it with the Master Key... which now snaps after a single use) it's pretty good so far. i'd recommend checking it out.
Well either I'm doing the bosses out of order (entirely possible), I've missed something (also possible) or the third Boss of the DoA mod is unfair as fuck After defeating the Taurus demon, I get the watchtower key and have to go down there because the Hellkite Drake bridge is now impassable, meaning you have to go through Darkroot garden to get too the parish (a pretty neat design choice actually). Thing is, when I get there I meet with The Haunting Semblance boss which uses one of the hardest base enemies in a room full of things to get caught on, then makes you switch between it and it's ghost several times, with the main boss becoming invulnerable after the first phase, meaning you have to keep attacking it just so that the ghost comes back out and you can fight again. All this before you can upgrade or repair your weapons too, meaning you do little damage and may have been left eventually weaponless.
I don't understand how to install it, I double-clicked the installer and it just tells me to find DARKSOULS.exe I know exactly where it is, but I can't do anything, the command window the installer opens doesn't allow typing, trying to run DARKSOULS.exe doesn't do anything, I don't know what else it wants from me?
Well, got another critique for DoA, the new bonfire positions are way easier to miss and feel too far between, resulting 3-5 minute long treks to get to bosses which is annoying Yeah the installer in general seems to have some issues
I installed the Daughters of Ash mod and it seems to have fucked my controls. The right bumper does nothing, and when I try to back out of menus with B I end up attacking, but then I just press B it's still a dodge. so somehow B is assigned to both dodge and attack. Is there a way to change the controls for controllers?
Even better, the ghost form can teleport into the walls so you can't hit it but it can still shoot spells out at you. Your only option is to wait for it to teleport again or go back to the invincible corporeal form.
wheres the bonfire in blighttown in daughters of ash (if any) also the bottom of blighttown being named 'fetid slagmire' is the best name for anything ever and im embarrassed miyazaki didnt come up with such brilliance himself. how dare he.
Got a heavy urge to play Bloodborne again after a long hiatus. What's an underrated but also fun wep to use?
I wouldn't call the Hunter Axe underrated at all. It's a notoriously cheesy way to play the game. The threaded cane would be a more interesting weapon for a second playthrough. Hunter axe into Ludwigs blade is the easiest way to play the game, but threaded cane into things like tonitrus or chikage make for more interesting playthroughs.
Threaded Cane to Chikage is how I played the first time and even now I still use both. They're just so fun.
Bloodletter for best blood weapon.
I stuck with the threaded cane all the way through to the end on my first playthrough and I didn't regret it once
I used the threaded cane on my second play through after using the hunter axe for most of my first and I had a more interesting and fun experience with the threaded cane. I felt like I was cycling though moves and modes naturally in combat whereas with the ace I exclusively kept it extended and just spammed the shit out of heavy attacks. To be fair by the end of my first play through I was dead set on beating the game with the beast claws and rune. I don't think I've ever had a more satisfying gaming experience than when I dodged one of Maria's sweeping blood attacks with the beast claw/rune jump attack.
it's next to where you find the eagle shield. you have to kill one of those ogre guys, then it'll appear honestly after getting pretty far in daughters of ash i rescind my recommendation. there's a lot of pointless, tedious bullshit that really outweighs the good stuff
You've got one at the swamp at the bottom, opposite the route to the lower undead burg sewers and another part way up said path that you have to kill an ogre on one of the stone struts leaning over the swamp. Honestly the 'you have to kill an unmarked enemy to spawn a bonfire' mechanic is a goddawful idea, and it's happened a couple of times (Another under a living tree in Darkroot)
It mah birthday today and I got this snazzy book. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DwLsjzHVAAAkY7D.jpg:large https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DwLslBEV4AAjZZq.jpg:large Now my collection is complete. ❤
I kept my cane even after getting the chikage for the crowd control capabilities, using the Chikage for the MAD DAMAGE its come to expect two new cycles later I still haven't got bored of either, nor do I have a truly ultimate gem setup on my chikage yet (though I also haven't played for a while)
