Well it's still early access, which means you can refund at any time.. I think.
Early access games on Steam follow the same refunding rules that all other games do. You might be thinking of ARK: Survival Evolved when it was still in early access, as there used to be a glitch that allowed people to refund the game despite how many hours you played on it.
my bad
Why is it unreasonable to expect Xen at this point, considering that signs are pointing to them being almost done with the damn thing? Why would they have started teasing Xen a bunch recently if they wern't going to be able to release it within a reasonable timeframe? The whole reason they kept almost raidio silence regarding it for the longest time was because they weren't close to being done.
What!
I get trying to sympathize with the devs, but they most definitely do owe us shit. It was a promise attached to the early access purchase. There's really no getting around that, no ifs or buts about it. I think I'd have a mindset similar to yours if we were still talking about the mod, but as it stands I'm baffled that you, as a consumer, don't want to see the product you paid for actually finished.
I’m guessing maybe a big Xen Tease, maybe a trailer
I CAN DREAM DAMMIT
Also hope fore some death triggers being applied at some constructions. btw, had anyone encountered this corpse ragdoll behaviour at flooded floor? https://youtu.be/9ebD8FzkbKM
Did they release the lighting update or is it coming with the Xen levels?
Seems they are almost done, but I think it would be more realistic to wait for a december release. It will be out when it is done, we gave our trust to them by paying, we'll wait sit. Drop out the "they owe us" mentality because in the 99% of the times it leads to an unrealistic hype ( and worst, an undeserved backslash to the devs ), is toxic.
Didn’t they release that months ago?
I have a faint memory of the update being rolled out in stages, with Xen bringing more cool lighting stuff. I could be making it all up though
Additionally, iirc, they should be rolling out a new dynamic flashlight, as the current one is a placeholder generic light until they get the bugs ironed out on the custom one
Considering I put money for a promised WHOLE product, yeah, they fucking do. What are you even doing, what is this supposed to be?
We do owe you guys Xen. And we're gonna give you guys Xen. No ands ifs or buts. Let's not worry too much about how it's framed, though.
still wish I'd named this thread "Chon Kemp's A Swell Guy" Edition
Are the black mesa devs still going to do that marathon stream today? It was mentioned back in the june update.
Aww, you guys are too sweet. Thanks! Got some cool stuff coming for you a bit later today, so hopefully these feels will only continue to grow!

Holy fuck that is sexy as hell. Now the surface levels of earth are going to feel even more outdated compared to Xen!
I've been waiting to play Black Mesa till they released the full product, and it really looks like my decision fucking paid off.
Sweet Jesus its beautiful!
We may (or may not? the future is uncertain) have some plans in place to address that, post-Xen...
Am I wrong or wasn't Q4 2018 supposed to be the "do or die" deadline for Xen? Still, I've been waiting for Black Mesa at least since 2009, so half a year more isn't that bad in the grand scale of things. And if they release on May 3rd, it'll be exactly 10 years after I registered to the Black Mesa forums. Also, about Xen length: Black Mesa developers estimated the original Half-Life's Xen to take a hour to beat in total. Even if they're fudging a bit with their own 6 hour estimate, that's still a hell of an increase in play time compared to the original Xen.
Nah, December 2017 was the do or die.
Eh, to each their own. I loved the original free mod so much I paid for the steam version as soon as it came out, to support the developers. Beat it twice, got all the achievements (second run was a hat run), and I'll have no issue jumping right back in from where my last save ended and moving right onto Xen without replaying the whole thing a third time.
After seeing the release date window of Q2 2018, I've decided to predict their internal deadline. May 16th. I've decided upon that because it is the day of the Black Mesa Incident.
Holy sh*t, I can't believe this is still the Source engine.
Will there be any patches to the base game before then? Or is everything going to be in the Xen update?
