Escape from Tarkov V2 - Rootin' tootin' leg shootin'

Drum mags were actually less liked by infantry because they were very cumbersome and not entirely reliable.
Yeah, weren't they pretty inconsistent with production quality, causing failure to feed and such?
IIRC Gun Jesus mentioned that it had to with overall production of magazine well and the drum mags themselves, leading to odd fits. But a lot of the time through mag trading soldiers would find magazines that fit perfectly well and when that happened they were reliable. If they didnt fit properly of course that lead to various misfires and jams.

Today little Timmy learned not to play with his food
fuck that was a nasty trade
Just had an insanely infuriating moment... Knock off 2 guys in full gear with a mosin and grab their shit, 3rd cuntbag just waited patiently for 5 minutes on top of a cargo container(Why?). So I go to throw a nade but apparently I make the mistake of sprinting too and my guy has a fucking fit and throws it... downwards... somewhere? Can't run to right or behind me cos he has line of sight so I run behind a car... Nade still kills me, rip 2 super geared guys worth of loot to bad game design, dun got tarkov'd.
When you sprint and throw a nade, it basically drops right where you're at. It's a pretty well known bug.
Yeah I've experienced it a few times before but not so often it ever registers on my mental list of things to look out for.
I don't know what world you live in, but blunt force trauma can be very very lethal. For instance, the two highest causes of death related to unintentional injuries are from traffic collisions and falls; And blunt force trauma is usually the mechanism of the fatal injury in both cases.
There's dozens fatal injuries and combinations of injuries that can be caused from thoracic or abdominal blunt force trauma. Pulmonary contusions, thoracic aorta trauma, pericardial tamponades, liver laceration or contusion, and generalized internal bleeding from ruptured organs, just to name a few.
And that's not even factoring in things like traumatic brain injuries or intracranial hemorrhaging, which are their own set of fun injuries.
Yeah that's nice but I was referring to small arms ammunition specifically.
In the context of bullets being absorbed by firearms... Yea, his statement up there holds water.
You, Tyanet, were citing traffic collisions? Massive, heavy cars flailing your body around like a ragdoll compared to a [relatively] tiny bullet losing all of its energy in less than a second?

Unless it's a fucking massive round against someone's head or soft body armor, bullets don't do blunt damage. They could've swapped out those plates and shot at him all day and the most he'd develop is a bruise.
Well I just learned what a massive piece of shit the Toz is. 2 shots point-blank on my enemy, they lived, I didn't.
Yes that's the video I was thinking of when I posted.
I would be interested to see how modern ballistic face masks hold up. I know there should normally be zero penetration (unless it's a 50 bmg??) but this would be the only case where one would suffer "blunt" damage, right?
Ballistic face masks are typically only rated for .44 magnum, same for pretty much every helmet out there with the exception of certain companies claiming they stop 7.62, who know's what they're actually using, still going to probably die from that given the deformation.
Now chest armor, I don't think existing armor in-game would stop a .50 BMG, but APPARENTLY, there is wearable armor that can indeed stop it certain .50 BMG loads

The dummy didn't move a whole lot, but there is pretty decent back face deformation along with quite the imprint on the dummy, so I don't know how much internal damage that would cause or if a trauma pad would do anything. That is "technically" soft armor, so, eh?
To be honest they need to add PTRS-41's, with a limit of only being able to hip fire it or aim down sights while prone or propped on a ledge, and .50bmg rifles.
Maybe make ADS fire locked behind a strength level since they weigh around 40 pounds, but I wouldn't say that.

Albeit wholly impractical and downright stupid looking, it's completely possible. If they made the sighting take a while and make it so you could barely turn in a hallway with, that'd make sense.
What a fucking great way to end the last 2 weeks before the wipe
I desperately want the m107/m82 in-game, make it a one hit kill anywhere above the legs and make it cost $6-7K, fucking hear that shit ring out cross map everyone is going to be swarming the guy. Recoil is pretty manageable on it as well, Jerry can man handle the thing and he's an old fart, think he holds the record for six shots in one second with it so rapid fire would be devastating.
But comrade, why use capitalist gun when you can use this:

Seems like in the end, the only escape from Tarkov, was the bullet in your own gun.

OOOFKA. Adrenaline would help alot but that guy definitely lost teeth and definitely would have cracked his jaw if it hit on the lower part of the chin..
I don't bitch about the current blunt damage calculations because I'm so poor in EFT that I can't afford this high-end stuff in the first place, BUT: something is definitely amiss.
Just got back into this after having not played since like January. I feel like a lot about the meta has changed now, which is nice.
To be honest the meta is a bit funny right now because a wipe is coming, so everyone's going balls to the wall with top-tier equipment and meme loadouts.
oh
Well, when's the wipe? I guess I have to kiss my loadouts goodbye
No set date, but most people think it'll be 1-2 weeks.
I've actually never seen that thing, but the m107/m82 just does it for me, shit makes me rock hard, thing is an absolute unit, guy that made it had absolutely no background in gun manufacturing, made that shit in his garage
They said 1-2 weeks about 1-2 weeks ago... And said 1-2 weeks about 2-4 weeks ago as well sooooo SOON tm*
huh, scav boss entourage can spawn Gen4

Has that always been a thing?
They can spawn with basically anything, the only thing that doesn't change is their glasses and gun.
