People tend to pick up Mosins even less but I guess it could depend on your playstyle. I don't pick my fights, I fight every fight even if the odds are against me even if I have super good gear to lose and I very much consider the first shot in a fight to be the most important, hence the Mosin but like I said, different play styles I guess.
It sure used to be! But at some point in a 10.x patch (last time I tried to use the sun) it was totally out of sync on customs.. It was going north and south or something insane like that. Perhaps they fixed it again...?
dude what
Wow... I can't believe some people. Traders unlocked and the price of IOTV armour is just 1200, among everything else being dirt cheap and people still hatchet run? Just caught a level 34 dude who got ravaged by an AI scav.
Greed leads to stupidity, that or just so fucking dumb with money they managed to lose everything at that level which is mind boggling, its not hard to make money in tarkov.
Good fucking lord, I was expecting a half off event, not 90% off event, jesus christ.
Let the shifest begin!
What the fuck lmao, this is how Tarkov was meant to be played
It took me 30 minutes to properly kit out an AS VAL..... Ran in and promptly died.
I rarely kill anything with any gun so I'm not sure if there's a point to ever bringing one, and there's definitely no point in buying one. I usually just use a shitty AKS-74u because it doesn't matter what I have if I don't see the shooter.
Holy shit you need to be able to search by component type/weapon to make building shit less of a nightmare. It's like going through the junk drawer in my dresser.
Loaded up three iCases with 50 round glock drums and went out onto shoreline with the G18, burned 4,951 rounds before a scav wondered up and killed me https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/220975/292ccce2-6986-45e4-9ed1-34523184a7a9/image.png https://i.gyazo.com/0056ea20f154a4eaa690f6a741e6c663.png Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Shoot a VSS for 20 minutes, shits broke, but 5,000 rounds out of a tupperware gun and it's moderately worn.

So last time I updated the launcher it forced my computer to restart, how often does it do that?
from what i heard it was a result of them updating their vs redistributables(c++/c# libraries?) for the launcher that forced the auto restart, not neccessarily the launcher itself. that event is the only time i have ever heard of it happening and ive been playing for over a year now, so that should hopefully give you some confidence that it never happens.
Well some mixed bag from the tarkov update. Seems like you can't play consecutive raids, current bug means you got to fukken restart each time, sometimes even before you try to get into a raid. Guessing this will be patched rather quickly. New med/drinking animations are pretty neat. Scavs seem a lot more challenging now, which I kinda like but also terrifies me. They also seem to wander a little more, I've bumped into a few in places I've never seen them before, especially on customs. Flea Market is an interesting idea but of course people are putting silly prices on things as expected, not sure how this will work in future if the player prices influence the prices from actual traders. Noticed a lot more fractures from being shot, not sure how I feel about it yet..another feature that causes me to have to limp half a map is potentially annoying. Trying to group up with friends is currently a little buggy too. Good to be playing the shooty loots again though, kinda got bored and trailed off toward the end of the last wipe. Haven't played for a month or so until now. Nice not having to worry about bumping into people with ridiculous gear. Quite enjoying having shootouts with crappy rifles, shotguns and pistols. Apart from the annoying constantly having to restart the game, it seemed pretty solid so far. Looking forward to playing some more after work tomorrow.
Man I cannot tell where shots are coming from in this game. I hear them but I can't tell if it's 20 meters away or 200 meters away, anyone else?
I think the latest hotfix has broken the game even harder :C
fack... i've been nikitas chosen and have had ZERO problems with the "restart after every raid" no matter what I did.. I'm kind of scared to patch now
Does anyone have tips on identifying enemies? Everyone looks the same to me except naked BEARs. I just had the drop on a guy as a Scav and I didn't shoot because I thought he was another Scav.
Ehhhh... If you don't have a few seconds to observe their movement and determine I could recommend using the mumble "F1" - if you're in close enough proximity the AI scav will 100% return a mumble and you'll hear that familiar gopnik response and if you don't you'll know they are a PMC... Otherwise a PMC could be dressed as shoddily as a scav and you'd have no way of knowing until its too late..!
The way I typically identify AI scavs vs. players is how AI Scavs move. When not alerted, the AI will always move in a pretty rigid way. They always walk forward on their patrols, never strafe, and keep their weapons aimed towards the horizon, so you won't see them look up or down. Their patrols are pretty simple, consisting of a loop where they will stop a couple times and 'scan' the environment. As far as uniforms, it's still pretty difficult to differentiate between janky USECs and scavs even at higher graphics settings. I always tend to find that scavs have a much 'baggier' appearance to their uniforms, while USEC's uniforms are a tad more fitted. I tend to really just kill all the other AI scavs when playing as a scav though. I've had the same thing happen to me a few times and it's super annoying. So unless I can observe for a minute and be sure they're AI, I typically kill them all on sight.
Seems like the game is actually working properly now. Hooray!
From the fresh start on 10.5 it felt like a 200% chance to get a fracture from a gun wound.. Now it feels a bit closer to 33%? Scavs feel a bit "Neo" like they react before the bullet is even launched.. Makes for some dodgy headshots if you don't have them dead to rights.. If we shared a continent I'd offer to raid with you & give you the lions share
I'll be alright, I think I just need to re-learn to play. I was pretty successful last wipe. Between a month of not playing and trickier AI with harsher penalties for getting shot, I just need to get good ..again but in a different way. Managed to claw some cash back today, a bit more flush. Not had any solid raids still but I got lucky with a bitcoin which I sold for a little extra on the flea market and the odd loot here and there. I think I'm probably further behind in cash because the bottom half of my EOD inventory is full of trade/quest items that I know I will need later. Probably a 100k of shite just sitting there for now.
Now that you mention this, I'm positive this is what tripped me up. The guy walked forward in a line, stopped, then slowly turned toward me, then stared for a half second. He had a helmet and a carrier but since he was moving like that I wasn't sure if he was just a well equipped AI Scav or a USEC. There's also the possibility of it being a Player Scav who's a cunt.
I LOVE doing that in Factory. Mimicking the stupid movements, stopping to scan the wall, and then right when they let their guard down snapping to and blasting them. It's dog eat fucking dog out there, Ivan, and I am the Chinaman.
Well I finally did it, I was ambushed and all 3 of my squaddies were killed and I was critically injured, but I shot the attacker in the face with my SKS. It's too bad his two friends were performing a pincer attack on me at the same time and promptly murdered me 2 seconds later, so I didn't get to confirm the kill or secure my friend's loot. But at least I killed someone.
Oh man, some guy fucked up HARD on factory. My friend was fucking about with a hatchet just trying to get the 220 key out of the lockers, for silly monies. He spotted some guy doing something weird over there but lost sight of him. I pushed through and heard noise on the gantry, peaked the corner and saw someone in the swing room. Killed the guy in swing room, probably doing that damn customs to factory doc quest, kinda felt bad. However, I think the previous dude my friend spotted came to try avenge his buddy/get in on the action and rushed me. I shot his face off with my shotty, looted his body, to only discover the fucking 220 key in his MBSS...he didn't safe container it! Guess who is now 900k richer thanks to selling that fucker on the flea market?
And now I just ended a run being killed by a guy who I shot in the head multiple times with my pistol, he was laying on the ground facing me and I was on a slope so his head was 80% of what I could see of him, so there's no way I didn't hit that. But somehow he didn't die from me nor my friend, and proceeded to kill me. That's bullshit, I had that motherfucker and the game refused to give it.
