Yeah that was a silent change done a few days ago.
Sneaky. Also decided to fuck it all and take the NYE reward M14 RSASS thing in with the 50rnd full of M80 and a 30rnd backup mag with my big blackjack pack, the level 6 ruski armour and altyn/faceshield. Raiders are bitches now. Headshot 5 in a single round and body shot the other. LOADS A LOOT.
Just in case y'all didn't know, you can replace the ADAR-15 Lower with a normal M4 lower which you buy off of mechanic. Turns a near 100k+ investment for an m4 into about a 60k one instead, and you get that sick furnishing as well.
Thanks for the tip! Never fucked around with any guns that weren't russian calibre.. Really enjoying the feel of this semi... About to convert my stash from the AK to the AR platform~~
Try a bit with just the ADAR-15. It works just as well as a vepr, if not better imo.
Tonight's experience of the Labs: 10+ headshot deaths, including 2x aimbotty raiders through Altyn w/ faceshield without even so much as a sound. A silent grenade that exploded without any kind of warning shout from the scav or tinkle of it hitting the floor. Having a raider close a door I was about to peak round and pushing me into the corridoor full of raiders and promptly getting raped. BAD TIMES
Yess.. That was my introduction- https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/240059/4698b556-102b-4d2a-b134-cef2649e3b41/image.png ALTHOUGH, it wasn't without its own learning curve. Gonna make more use of the offline mode when running a new kit otherwise I might end up in a live raid with an inoperable sight https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/240059/f7afe473-5302-431b-bf70-40f9adc748d2/image.png
Just picked this up and goddamn night combat without any sort of NV is spooky.
Think thats spooky, try woods, shoreline or factory at night. Interchange at night is manageable as theres enough moon light getting reflected around inside but those other 3, holy fuck. Can't see shit captain.
I was doing woods a night. Can't see shit but it's neat spotting people by their silhouette on a hill or they're running around with a flashlight on.
Heh, we walked into a 3 party clusterfuck on Labs, I got insta headshotted by some twitch named ponce but my friend killed him so I loaded up his stream just to see him looking at the kill screen with my friends name on it and the guy with his head on his hand xD My friend had nothing but an MPX and him and his friend were super geared. I said my friend killed you RIP, gg and he said he hoped my friend fucking died IRL lol.
the MPX or well any fast firing & low recoil gun is a godsend in labs, i once nailed down a group of 4 players purely with headshots, they were all somewhat grouped next to each other so i just went into their room and kept switching between heads
It's pretty much our strat for getting raiders. Anything under 30 metres you can usually just melt their face. It's all about positioning, that part we're still learning for labs. We can make a decent go of it in the cargo extract but we're still trying new areas to figure out what's best. Anywhere with small sharp corridors and lots of things to break LOS helps the MPX massively.
Is using full auto most of the time still the efficient meta?
I always bring an MP5 in to the Lab map and it works really well. Any SMG seems to work well on Lab, and it's cheap too. Have you tried any of the basement extracts? I find that the one closest to the main entrance/lobby is the safest to extract from. See EXFIL02 on this map
Basement extracts are my go to for 'oh shit it's all fucked I need to leave' as they're usually fairly quiet. Also the elevator extract near the stairwell is pretty quick and safe. Also had a lot of successful labs raids today using the corridor behind the kitchen. Lots of great PvP fights and killed plenty of raiders. Loadsa dosh too. Open the cargo door, haul ass up to the kitchen area and just use the doors to not get overwhelmed by raiders and keep them close at MPX face melting range. Think I've made a few mil from the couple of hours I played too.
They could honestly probably fix that by removing that 'Auto control' of recoil and making the jerking of the recoil fairly random so you can't just consistently pull down to control it, just sort of manage it.
medical block elevator is the safest extract cuz its also the fastest and it doesnt spawn raiders when activated
join the discord in the op!!! we play regularily
Anyone had an issue where the launcher doesn't let you install the game on a certain drive? For example, I have my C: drive which is an SSD I use just for the OS, and then my D: drive is my main hdd I use for everything, and even though I installed the launcher into my D: drive, it keeps telling me I'm unable to install it there. I'm installing it on my C for the time being since it's a fairly small game (here's hoping it doesn't install 100gb worth of patches once its finished the 11gb download) but I don't really want to keep it on there in the long term.
you'll want the game on your ssd, the loading times are horrendous on HDD @DaBeaver
so can someone breifly explain the difference between pmc and scav? From what I gather, you only develop skills if you play as a PMC, whereas a scav you are more or less disposable? if I play a PMC and die, do my skills get deleted or do they only get developed if I survive? I've no clue what I'm doing but fuck me this game is immersive af.
If you die as a PMC all you lose is your gear (unless it is in your "pouch" slot which should be a Gamma Container), you do not lose your skills they are persistent through playthroughs. You can play PMC as often as you like, no cooldown. There is a cooldown on Scavs due to the developers not wanting people to only play Scav since you can only gain as playing them, versus the PMCs where you have a little skin in the game by way of bringing your own stuff.
You level skills as a PMC and those are permanent, a scav is basically just a random throw away character with random stats/weapons to start with (the XP counts for nothing so just concentrate on stealing good loots and extracting to make some cash) As Garro said, with a PMC when you die, the only things you get to keep is whatever is inside your secure container and your melee weapon. (As you level you can get access to bigger secure containers, also the EoD edition of the game and some others start with the biggest secure container). As a PMC you also don't have to take anything at all into a raid, obviously you're going to have a hard time defending yourself with just a melee weapon but if you can find some decent loot spawn spots, it can be a way to get some relatively risk free cash, as well as slowly levelling some of the basic skills. The only thing you lose there is time if you die. Obviously you ideally want to survive though as you get an XP bonus. However, that's only if you kill and loot at least a few scavs or loot a lot of containers, otherwise you get a run through which counts as a penalty and you get fuck all XP, probably less XP than if you got a kill and died mid raid. Also, don't know if anyone gives a shit about 'hey here's some guns i made' but hey, here's some guns I made, tried to make some silly low recoil stuff. I got a lot of money and I was bored. https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/955226815241513279/223D617376ED8EFBFDB123EEBAB7C940CA4122D0/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/955226815241513470/FD2AA384820E841D1049137C5C1CCBCDAD009C56/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/955226815241641520/8F91111B73FA6B6F93014E9D6A3299E4AE1ADE5B/
Actually, as of right now, the only thing randomized on the scav is the loot, appearance, and name. The XP and level actually is consistant and you can train your scav's stats.
WAAAAAT
seriously? source?
Its been like this from the start, its why at times you find yourself being able to do marathon runs as scav because you've been actively leveling its mobility and endurance without knowing.
So thats why I find playing scav easier than pmc? Always figured it was down to nerves.
