I always would've considered that to be Drake...

Cunning God of Death seems that it would fit Hades better.
Uncharted didn't generate as much initial buzz as LittleBigPlanet had, and I remember how Sony would use the LBP IP, specifically Sackboy himself, to promote various PlayStation brands.
Grima is even more of a god.
Everyone being back from Wii U isn't a surprise at all, there was literally 0% chance they weren't going to port over Smash 4 in some way (Sakurai already confirmed they started with Smash U's assets and built from there). I've kind of mellowed on "everyone is here" because I've played each game in the series and I always look forward to what new stuff they have and this time they have... all of the old stuff I've already played with. Maybe 'don't expect too many newcomers' was just lowballing and there'll be more than people expect, I dunno.
I had hoped that Smash 4 would eventually get all the cut veterans back as DLC, which I imagine might have even been the plan at one point, but the sudden swerve to Switch development due to Iwata's death probably ground those plans to a halt.
I cannot understate just how much I'm looking forward to playing this game in handheld mode. I played Smash4 on 3DS longer in total than WiiU, just because the ability to pop open a quick match to kill five minutes while waiting for something else suited Smash so damn well. Sure the WiiU version got plenty of use with friends, but just playing alone... Why bother with it? The system's load times were abominable, and where exactly I could take the gamepad was far, far more limited than just playing the game on 3DS.
The circle pad on the 3DS felt awful to play Smash on compared to the Wii U gamepad or a controller for that matter. I'm just glad I'm not one of the people that managed to break it while playing.
Speaking as someone who actually TRIED to break it on their old, dead OG 3DS... How? How the fuck do people manage that? By the end it took a screwdriver and a fair bit of force to pry that thing off. How could you possibly break it by accident?
So they used his moniker from the manga... Good!
At least both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash 4 had their strengths and weaknesses. I'd worried whether one would end up overshadowing the other, and while it's true Wii U is the one people talk about nowadays (at least online) and is the go-to for multiplayer, 3DS still ended up reaching a far wider audience sales-wise and had some genuinely fun single-player content - at the very least, the initial gear and custom move collecting was enough to keep me interested for a good while the first time around on 3DS, even if I had little interest in doing it all again once Wii U hit and I could just transfer all my old stuff over. It did feel like both halves added up in their own ways to making Smash 4 a great overall installment, rather than one feeling unnecessary to get the full the experience. I just feel kinda sad that Smash 4 as a whole still probably ended up being the one I sunk the least hours into, though that was also due to several life-related factors at the time as well. Playtime-wise it's probably Brawl ≈ Melee > SSB64 > Smash 4 for me.
Why do people think the manga is bad? If anything, it beats Metroid: Other M in every way thinkable.
I prefer the 4koma, the only REAL interpretation of Samus
Apparently, TV Tropes mentions some dislike the manga and consider it not canon when the creators say it is. Also, Samus was a small child when she first met the Space Pirate, she should not even fall into depression just because the motherfucker keeps coming back like a virus.
Some pristine audio gameplay https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBiTMiF6Ro8
If I didn't know any better, I'd say they got Takashi Nagasako to reprise his role as Ganondorf for the first time since Wind Waker.
Didn't see it brought up here yet, but the Mii Fighters have custom moves in SSBU and allow you to choose one of twelve voices for them. They might be the only ones to get them, since it hasn't been mentioned for others, yet.
considering he was supposed to be a really old man in those appearances it was probably by choice
He also did Melee and OoT Ganondorf, so you know. He's the canon voice for that incarnation. Shame Zelda characters don't really talk much, they'd probably have fun with getting multiple voices for characters in for crossovers if they did.
On the note of voices, it still amuses me to no end that the ENG-EU version of Shulk wound up becoming permanently canon. And honestly that dub is a big part of why the game is as memorable as it still is. I'm glad everything went the way it did, to make that happen.
it's way better than every single dubbed japanese character having a generic american accent played by the same handful of people from the american west coast
I dunno, there seems to be something missing from Ganon's new voice. Maybe it's just me, but it seems to be kind of muffled sounding and lacking energy or maybe I'm just too use to his Melee and Brawl voices.
I'm… not entirely pleased Xander Mobus will reprise the role of an Announcer.
I straight off don't like Xander's announcer voice. It feels forced and the delivery is all over the place.
Hot damn is it satisfying. The sound at 0:43 when he's been KO'd is also great. https://youtu.be/Nosw1wHTdnQ?t=5s
Overall, I got sick him very quickly. The dude had a better time playing Innes and Arvis than he did as emulating the previous people. In addition, where's that fucking DSP effect from Brawl and prior? Now it uses built-in reverb instead. What happened? Did the new programmers at Sakurai-sama's team not know that the Announcer's sounds could have DSP applied to them? SSB4 even used Brawl's engine, which theorietically meant the Announcer soundbank had support.
To me he just sounds like a regular dude's voice with a lowered pitch effect. Sounds really unnatural.
Speaking of lowered pitch effects, Connor Shaw. Some say he uses that because his voice is actually some octaves higher…
I liked it for Smash 4. But this is a new Smash, isn't it? Not Smash 4.5? Then why don't we have a new announcer?
