Super Smash Bros. V8 - Everyone is here! Except that one character you like.

Eh, I don't think it's really necessary to have an unorthodox inputs for all that stuff, although I like the "hitbox only on the glove" idea.
He could just have a tether grab and air-tether, and his basic super-stretch punch be his Standard B (for Kirby's use). Glove-type switch is a good idea and could be put on Down+B, and Up+B could be that "punch the ground and spring up" thing you always see him do on his victory pose. If we do a Rush attack, it could either be shorter and on the Side+B or a done more cinematically for his Final Smash. What he does for the other move, I'm not sure.
Would it be too much of a crazy mechanic to allow for the ARMS character to be able to charge their fists during shielding/dodging? That would be an interesting mechanic to carry over from ARMS. It simply makes both fists more powerful and slightly modifies them, and since its temporary it shouldn't be too hard to deal with.
Plus with the way how Perfect Shield works in Ultimate, it could reward those players for doing good with a counter play style, which is what ARMS is mostly about.
Ooh, that's actually a really good idea. I wish Smash did more stuff with shielding as it is; I still wish we did more with a potential Shield+B mechanic, right now only Inkling has that kind of input.
That character poll last page had me thinking more about Bandanna Dee being included in Smash. What exactly his the appeal of him? Is it because he's a reoccurring character Kirby?
I mean, I personally have nothing against the little dude. I actually wouldn't mind if he got added to Smash, but the Kirby franchise holds way more wackier and insane characters. Why pick someone so relatively basic in design when you have other characters like Marx or Adeleine who could potentially offer more in terms of gameplay?
That'd be neat. It'd make their shield punishes possibly overwhelming, but I bet it could be worked out.
If not, the idea of charging punches comes into play when they used a Smash attack anyways.
Bandanna Dee is so hardly a character that it’s kinda amazing people even care
I just like adorable characters, plus we see how he could be implemented with Smash Flash.
So I'd be fine with the Dee.
I mean if Smash Flash 2 can somehow make Bandana Dee into a character with a somewhat unique moveset, I don't see how Nintendo can't.
I see where you're coming from on this, to be honest. I feel like Bandana Dee needs a little more to stand out besides a clothing accessory.
I feel Marx would be more interesting than Bandanna Dee, but I have no strong objections to the lil guy.
Or Prince Fluff from Epic Yarn. He practically has a moveset baked into the game.

All he needs is an interesting moveset to validate his fighter status. I mean, Captain Falcon, back in the original, and Wii Fit Trainer, in the most recent iteration, are both good examples of fighters whose characters are pretty much defined and validated by their moveset. That's all he needs.
If Bandanna Dee gets in then Kirby becomes a better representation of the weapon triangle than Fire Emblem's six characters are.
My favorite weapon triangle: Sharp, Sledge, and Suck.
wasn't his gimmick that he used a spear? Could do something interesting with that tbh
man we're just expecting everyone at this point aren't we
I'm expecting like three newcomers personally.
I also doubt that the echo fighter thing opens the floodgates as much as people think.
I'm expecting one newcomer, and one or two new Echo fighters.
Eh, something tells me "Waddle Dee with a spear" couldn't lend to all that interesting a moveset. Waddle Dees are already pretty basic enemies on the level of Goombas and a spear doesn't add too much, unless we take some liberties and give him some of the copy abilities from the actual Kirby games.
