Pearl and Marina will be having their first solo concert. https://twitter.com/SplatoonJP/status/1073191665983139840
I don't really get the appeal of concerts with virtual performers.
appealing to the fantasy that your waifu is real.
Next update is next week, with some buffs to Main Power Up, for mostly weapons with effects other than damage.
Only an hour and a half spent to reach Queen rank thanks to getting a real good team right from the start by far the best Splatfest I've had

https://twitter.com/Splatoon2inkbot/status/1074333436104499200 Sure would be nice to use these snails on some new gear.
Why the fuck do people do that shit where they go into the center of the map and just spam booyahs? Like for fuck's sake play the game.
I believe there is an option to report players for doing this in the app. Personally when games turn into that kinda silliness I just sorta sigh and go along with it and change teams next game, possibly block the worst offenders so I don't get requed with them. It's kinda like when a TF2 server devolves into friendly heavies, can be annoying but sometimes amusing and and doesn't happen THAT often.
Now I feel left out here. I hear about those sorta things often, but I've never actually had a match like that. Also, might be important to be sure they're squid partying, and not just bad players with a Booyah Bomb.
Well, I hold out hope they're not done with gear just yet, but maybe they're only doing just the winning set instead of adding bunch. Looks like the gear will be added in April.
Any suggestions on a good splatling to use? Kinda wanna try those out.
Mini has been my pride and joy since Splatoon 1. Both its normal set, Zink, and Toni Kensa sets are all good. Shoot fast, move fast, shoot far.
I'm quite fond of the Heavy and Ballpoint splatlings. Heavy might be a good place to start, since you can use it in the base campaign, but the 2 firing modes of the Ballpoint make it a great all-round weapon. I'd also suggest equipping some Run Speed when you're using splatlings other than the Mini, since it'll help negate the slow down when you're charging and firing. Also Swim Speed if you're using the Nautilus to better use it's holdable charge while swimming.
https://twitter.com/OatmealDome/status/1075673803789926400 Some extra notes: a special song will play before each match for the New Years Splatfest, two new pieces of Salmon Run gear, and they might not be done with map revisions after all.
So they've confirmed they're not adding any more weapons right? Seems odd they'd add a bunch of new subs and specials just to have them on a tiny selection of weapons.
At this point they should just let us pick any loadout of main/sub/special. I can't really think of any combos that would be insanely broken.

i can
https://twitter.com/NintendoUKVS/status/1076130169289695237 Always booyah back. Nogami wills it.
Idk if this has been discussed in this thread, but if you've got a monitor that can take HDMI connections, you should try hooking up your switch to it and use a USB headset or plug an aux jack in for audio (it'll default to that over HDMI if a secondary audio source is plugged in). Idk if my eyes are just bad or what but I can see way better on my computer monitor than when I play on the telly.
I do this too, Splatoon is unplayable for me otherwise. My switch sits next to my monitor and I can plug a speaker when I don't want to use headphones, it's a really nice setup.
So when it comes to abilities, is there a "minimum" amount you guys would recommend having? Like is, say, having a single stack of an ability a worthwhile use of a slot, or should you always go for three of the same, etc.
I feel if you're gonna go for something, you may as well go for 3 subs, so it's enough to have a noticable effect, but not enough that it reaches the platue of diminishing returns nor takes away slots from other abilities. For something different, here's this years official holiday art. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DvK7GKEVAAEP6E1.jpg:large
I'm fully convinced that drink tickets actually do nothing.
Pretty much yeah. https://twitter.com/LeanYoshi/status/968447502910443520 Also drinks don't stack with natural abilities of the gear. It's all fucked and I wish it was fixed.
At this point drink tickets are nothing more than an xp booster for gear, which can be all right for grinding out chunks.
So does it just take a ludicrous amount of time to get a set of gear with the stats you want? I'm like a week and a half into farming and I have made pretty much zero progress still.
It does take a while, but there are things you can do to help reduce the time. What I've done in the poast was use some snails to add some more slots to 1 star gear with the brand that favoured the ability I wanted, then grinded them out. You can also save chunks by trying the roll at least 1 sub of what you want on your gear of choice, might not be a huge saving if only 1 sub of it, but it helps. Another option would be ordering gear, but Murch is more unreliable than food tickets at delivering what you've ordered. Salmon Run can of course can give a good bunch of chunks. There's another all Grizz Co gun shift coming up soon, so that'd be a good place to grind.
