I also wonder if they're going to add new weapons for the new weapons types plus a few extras of the older ones, and/or the old weapons that already have a Kensa kit will return. I miss my Berry SSP.

So, safe to assume the Sheldon's Pick update is gonna be 4.4.0? If so, then what's the update gonna be after that? Also, so much for the last content updates being last month. Didn't they also pull this with the first game (saying one time period was going to be the last period for updates, and then bringing out Sheldon's Pick?).

4.4.0 was combed for hidden stuff, just the special Japanese gear and a new piece of SR gear. Sheldon's Pick Vol. 1 weapons weren't there at all, and with the new Japanese gear that was just added isn't expected till March, it's likely we're going to get another big update around mid/end of March.
