I didn't play the first game so I don't know about that, but Octo expansion is paid.
I had a feeling it was paid. Since that is the case, how much is it? I'm hoping its not super expensive
I'm not sure how much in dollars but I think between 15-20. I enjoyed the expansion and found it worth the price personally.
A handful of maps, all of the weapons save for Sheldon's Picks, and all of the gear save for promotional items (Squid Girl set, the King of Games shirts, and the winner of the Famitsu contest from the first game).
There are a few maps and weapons that were in 1 that are currently not in 2 but content updates are still happening often, and they sometimes bring in old stuff. The old maps typically have small tweaks like added platforms or walls to help problems that they found in Splat1. Octo expansion is $20 DLC and just about doubles the amount of singleplayer content. The expansion is also MUCH more difficult than the normal SP campaign.
To give some specifics: 9 of the original games 16 stages have returned so far, with an additional 13 new stages. All 33 weapons from the original game have come over to the second, although one of them has changed class, along with an additional 15 new weapons and 2 new classes of weapons. Most of the original games 258 pieces of gear have returned, with the missing pieces being what Steel mentioned. However, there's now a total of 453 pieces of gear, not counting amiibo and promotional/dlc gear. As for the Octo Expansion, it's a $20 USD DLC with 80+ stages, a bunch of gear and playable octos, which I personaly feel is really worth the price.

Splat Dualies being top, who would've guessed that?! /s
I just bought a Switch with Splatoon 2 today and I'm enjoying it so far still have to trick my brain into using both the motion controls and the sticks but other than that its a lot of fun i do have one more question, is there any way to change the gender of my inkling? its not a big deal but i'm a little curious if thats a thing, I think it was in Splat 1
Press X, go to the last tab and there'll be an option to customise your inkling, that'll let you change all it's settings.
@Kurahk You press X and go to Options. You should see "Player Options" under Other. Same place you'll find the Octoling option if you end up unlocking them.
Press X, go to the Options tab, then Other > Player Settings.
Just some initial impressions, but the Bloblobber in Salmon Run feels practically as strong as a Grizzco weapon. This stupid hot tub bucket is ridiculously good.
i mean Bloblobber is ridiculous in most situations so that's not surprising
this salmon run is ez and it's mostly the new toilet weapon the name of which i cannot spell
Who is this Agent CH guy everyone is talking about in the plaza?
An artist that frequents the Splatoon 2 plaza who got a kidney stone, so a lot of people had been posting Get Well Soon messages.
how often do the clothing vendors refresh their stock?
Once a day I believe? Don't know what time.
Pretty sure its either just midnight, or midnight EST.
Always midnight your time, regardless of timezone.
Daily IIRC. I'm not sure of the exact time of day when things rotate.
is it normal to have a dick-ass teammate fucking around doing fuck all at spawn during matches? i just lost a match cause this one jackass sat in spawn and did nothing we lost with like 16%
If they do it, just go to your Switch Friends and block them. You won't be matched with them anymore in the future. Or change exit the lobby after the match. It's annoying but Splatoon doesn't have an internal block list or even a way to report cheaters/griefers/hackers. See, this Ninty? Hope your Online Service allows us to do such things so we can improve each other experiences as a community.
I just report those sorta people through the app.
You can report them through the app. There is even a way to report specifically for inactivity.
I climbed to S+5 in splat zones super quick but can't even make it to A+ on any other mode
What happens when you don't own a phone to use said app to report? Is there a browser version of it? No? Oh well, too bad. Why is a report system, something most if not all online game have in this day and age, not in Splatoon? You can report posts but not players?!
