It's good, but I would wait for the new game since it looks like it's going to be a vast improvement again. WRC7 has some of the best stages in rally gaming, but there's a few physics and force feedback quirks. Honestly, 8 looks like it's going to be the definitive version.
I guess the biggest question is how do the physics between WRC 8 and DR 2.0 compare?
Wouldn't be able to compare the WRC cars, since the aero and mechanical grip of current WRC cars is unlike anything seen before. The WRC/R5 and WRC Junior/R2 cars would be comparable, and maybe the mystery historic cars that are being added to WRC8.
f1 2018 is a lot more fun that i had previously thought
it's fun shredding tracks in that little thing c:

ngl it feels off
Its hyper arcadey, vehicles have no weight to them, the UI looks unfinished.
Its rough basically.

it's been 8 months this years, fucking hope they actually do release it this year.
is it normal to be better with faster cars than slower cars?
i can shred and put up fast lap times and take first place in f1 cars but if you put me in like a miata i'll have problems just getting through a corner
well yeah, F1 cars have a ton of aero so theyre very planted, miatas have 0 aero and you actually have to put in some work in them to be fast

can't believe the stripes are offset
Nice to see that the game is getting a sequel, despite it being kinda niche. Also, that looks like an american pickup in the first pic, so I guess they moved away from the soviet setting.
kinda awkward though, considering the games troubled past and having bought the same game twice essentially.
Man, heel/toe downshifting is a pretty hard thing to learn, I just either slam the brakes, get the pedals right but forget to shift or get the rev matching all wrong. Fun thing to try and learn though
and its so rewarding too, especially in older race cars it just rewards you with revs
Yeah, most fun thing I learnt for sim racing. The Dirt games are really good for discipling you on it because you'll crunch the gearbox if you get it even slightly wrong, so it gives you good feedback when learning.

There's nothing to prove, it's true
how does raceroom compare to iracing?
I haven't played iRacing, but you can download Raceroom for free to try it out. It's also not reliant on a recurring license, once you own the content you own it. It comes with a handful of free cars and tracks, so it'll give you an idea of how the handling is. Industry leading sound design, decent graphics, plenty of tracks and cars.
You can also try before you buy on the store, so don't feel compelled to buy a car before giving it some test laps. Raceroom doesn't have the multiplayer infrastructure that iRacing has - I don't think there's anything close to that. There are quite a few popular racing leagues, though, as well as Sim Racing System for matchmaking, though I'm not sure how active that is.
Sector 3's community manager has said before that they're aiming at having some sort of matchmaking system for the game - they already have all of the player profile data tracking - they just need to get programmers to implement it since they're a small team.
Singleplayer AI in Raceroom is also really good, so even if for some reason you're not able to find multiplayer racing, you'll have fun against the AI.
So what are all the racing games that are coming out soon? I’m gonna have a bit more free time soon.
For reference, I’ve already gotten sick of GT Sport, I am practically finished with everything in PCars 2, and I got every single trophy in Dirt Rappy but I was really put off with the reviews for Dirt Rally 2.
I wish Bugbear revisited the Flatout series in the future.
Flatout 2 scratches an itch in the racing genre no other game does. I want a modern take on something like that.
Getting fucking destroyed in Dirt 2 Group B on Elite. Losing even shorter Polish stages by +30 seconds sometimes.
Feels like the times are super out of whack. Group A Pro I was winning fairly comfortably.
I've been playing Dirt Rally 2 and I'd seriously recommend it, it's genuinely fantastic
The big complaint I keep seeing is that the career is always online which is fair enough - but I've only had connection issues on launch day, ever since then it's been completely fine
After playing a small metric ton of Forza Horizon 4 I've been wanting to play a more serious racing vidya online (because lord knows I'm gonna get an aneurysm from the way people play online in horizon) and I'm stuck choosing, I've mostly been looking at Forza 7, pCars 2 or the upcoming Asseto Corsa game.
Forza 7 isn't that different from horizon when it comes to online races (by that i mean it's still a toxic cesspool). Asseto Corsa has a nice modding scene, but that's all i know about AC and PC2 since i haven't played either since i don't own a wheel.
pcars2 has more cars but they all drive samey and (honestly most of the GT Cars drive like shit) AC is probably your best bet.
