The demo is mostly representative of the released game. Try that first. I haven't tried it with my Driving Force GT yet though.
As for RAM, 8 GB is like a bare minimum. The game will sit around 6 GB used at all times for me on High. I fortunately have a retarded amount of memory (24 GB), so no biggie.
Even my aging rig (2500k and 8 GB R9 390) doesn't really have issues performance wise. Pretty consistent 1440p 60 fps. But I do need to keep background processes closed. I'm sitting at 50-80% CPU uage at all times, so if another process spikes, I just drop frames like mad. Fortunately, stuff like the Xbox app tends to be okay, same with Steam. Discord is a hit or a miss, so I normally don't have it open.
@Cyteless I'd recommend doing the 80s/90s F1 cars on that track if you wanna see more AI death

I tried the demo and it works great (although it did forget some settings after exiting the game for some reason), gonna play around with it a bit more and I might buy it.
The demo does that, resets a lot of things on restart. I also couldn't change my wheel control scheme in the demo.
I have a minor but loud bitch about this game though, when the FUCK are they gonna fix the G920 button displays? All the button displays are some arbitrary number, A is 6, Dpad is 21-24 etc.

Its kinda fun recreating real world liveries though. Its good practice using the vinyl editor. Only thing is that doing text sucks fucking cock, if you need something more than what they give you. You have have to pretty much create your own fonts, which I'm not too good at yet. So "highway patrol" looks pretty fucking janky. I'll fix it sometime. Also I had to draw mount rushmore in the SDHP emblem. That took like 3 hours, but it looks damn good even at larger sizes.

The real disappointment is that the CVPI doesn't get a modern lightbar. It looks like it came out of the 70's, which doesn't fit at all and I hate it. At least you get the spotlights though.
So I'm having fun in FH4 alright. It runs smoother than FH3 besides a few rare slowdowns when I visit Edinburgh and they seem to have fixed the infamous infinite saving screen bug. I can't help but have this weird feeling that the map is smaller than FH3 though. I guess it's because Australia had more varied biomes with rainforest, countryside, coastal and outback while FH4 is mostly countryside.
The lack of Toyotas and Mitsubishis is really disappointing too but it's still a pretty good game for sure and...

Well think my save got fucked, FH4 crashes as soon as it loads my profile, even reset it and it still crashes upon loading, can't even get into the game settings or anything as it'll crash 3 seconds after loading it.
The FH4 demo ran well in the opening but once I got into my own car and the freeroam the framerates just took a huge shit on my i5 8400 and GTX1060 3GB.
Guess I'm stuck with ETS2 and Project Cars 2
Positively surprised over how polished the PC version of Horizon 4 is compared to the glitchy, stuttering mess that 3 was. Also nice that you get to try it for free for 14 days

I'm glad the Isetta is back in FH4. You have more chances beating Dark Souls 1 to 3 consecutively without losing health than taming an Isetta with a V12 slapped on it.
I'm not usually an S1 or S2 person (I like high A class most of the time) but the Audi #2 Audi Sport quattro S1 is probably my favorite car to do dirt racing with in FH4. The response when you hit the gas, the snap back when you hit a decent drift on a corner, and the general feeling of driving it around is so fun.
Find racing anything higher than S1 is just too fast an unfun, plus its where all the dipshits go when racing online.
