It's not too much of a big deal to me either way, I just think it would add some stress that doesn't have it's place in casual imho.
I liked it at first, but now with autobalance and people joining mid match it'd be a meaningless addition
everyone watches us, it's fuckin weird getting recognized in pubs because of my activity here is a common occurence
Doesn't happen in Europe.
to be fair, you're also a lot more...how do I say...reserved than some of us are chances are I'm more recognizable because of how loud I was and how often I got into multi-page fights with people
Another advantage of removing random crits: It'd bring an end to crit hacking. Yes, it's a thing. Cheats like nullcore (and probably others) allow their users to manipulate random crits, by building up a meter and firing them off on demand. In the case of nullcore, this ties in to the targeting system so that an enemy that is "rage" flagged always gets hit with a crit when possible. There's more than a couple videos on YouTube demonstrating these cheat functions. I'm not going to post any links because I refuse to give attention whores what they crave. I bring this up not only because it's pertinent to the current discussion, but also due to the fact that I was on the receiving end of these cheats last night. I was on SourceOP's 2Fort (formerly the most popular server in TF2, now a shadow of its former self.) This motherfucker https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198398939288 was on the other team. His movement was shit, but he was hitting some uncanny airshots with the Direct Hit. I noticed he was using the Conch so I insulted him in text chat. He then began focusing me, alway seeming to know where I was. He also killed me with "convenient" random crits 3 times in a row. He failed to get a domination on me because I got a couple posthumous assists. I mentioned in voice chat (SourceOP is not all-talk) that he was suspicious AF and like 4 people on my team chimed in agreeing. I then went to spectate and watched him for a few minutes. He had all the obvious symptoms of wall hacking and knowing how much health enemies had (as a Solider.) That's not really news. He also kept getting crockets at *just* the right time to get the kills he wanted. It was ludicrous. Of course, two kickvotes against him failed (SourceOP has the worst imaginable kickvote system) but at that point it was painfully obvious that he was cheating. To the credit of his teammates, they refused to help him and began calling out his location in text chat ("ghosting" him.) He got mad, called us all a [bundle of sticks], went to spectate, talked more shit, then left.
stopwatch in casual is something id rather leave behind in the initial casual mode that punished you for leaving and the like, it would probably make sense but given how loose the restrictions are and with people leaving in and out (which is imo a good thing given its casual) stopwatch is a pointless addition
I'd still like to have some semblance of a bridge for matchmaking. 12v12 casual with no rules and general casual competition. Set to a map timer with votes at the end like classic quickplay. Autobalance enforced and scrambles between rounds. 8v8 unranked competitive with loose competitive ruleset like stopwatch and Best-of-three. Teams are kept together. Sticking through the entire round to its end offers casual MMR and the bonus increases for players that decide to play consecutive sets. 6v6 ranked competitive Like it or leave it, a lot of people struggle to wrap their heads around losing half of their teammates and having to carry their own weight. 8v8 is a lot more controllable than 12v12 but is still a bit chaotic. I don't want to split people up like this but the playfield is just so drastically different, it's difficult to coerce people to break out of their comfort zone like that.
What's the point of continuing if you've already beaten the other team in distance though? How about having 2 rounds each with stopwatch is enabled instead if your worried about rounds ending too quickly...
surprised noone's talking about the new steam interface. I think this is a good way to promote groups so players can get into niche tf2 stuff, like medieval mode gatherings or scheduled events easier.
Joke weapon of the day: Engie gets a catapult that flings allies or enemies at a 50 degree angle as a teleporter replacement.
...to continue playing the game? Teams don't stay constant. Maybe they'll switch up their classes, just like our team will. There are lots of factor that count into losses other than raw "we better than em!"
also nobody fuckin talks in europe at least not in english
What if they removed random crits without actually telling us? How long do you think it would take all the people advocating for them to stay would notice? I'm willing to bet it'd take them a pretty fucking long time.
Because of how frequently random crits happen, it would be very noticable. I'd actually have fun for an entire match which would be an alarming change.
guys what if instead of removing random crits we just made everything crit 100% of the time? it'd be so funny!!!!!
asics is now seeped into our bloodstream at this point we are all now random crits, and random crits are us
That explains all the tumours
I see Valve is dropping support for XP and Vista on Jan 1, 2019. I wonder if we'll see an offical end to DX8 support for TF2 (even though you can run the game in a lower DX mode in newer OSs).
oh no. we only have three days to live.
Don't worry pal, it's just BREAD that gets tumahs.
Even before death I never got to try out the Heavy Update. Thanks ASIC.
I've got an idea. Instead of removing random crits,we add something to counter it. Random defense! Basically you get a random defense when you get hit by something, which means that you won't take damage from that something! If you get hit by a crit and manage to get a random defense, you only take normal damage and not crit damage! It's genius and I think ASIC would approve!
Random Ubercharge.

I know you're joking, but this post made me reach for my gun.
Random crits
Also a better pick if I want to die without an uber, which is also why I usually only go Spy on offense (sometimes rocket jumper soldier/sticky jumper demo or sniper). I obviously play to win, but I'd rather be running around trying to kill other people over sitting on a cart for a good 5 minutes to get "You win!" to pop up on my screen. I think the above also helps explain my very early comment about loving Powerhouse. That map is so much stupid fun, and unlike hightower (too wide open, sniper-friendly, and small) and 2fort (waaaay too tiny and cramped), it has enough variation in map locations that you can play any class and have fun.
we all know the best pick class is Demoknight
