TF2 General Chat and Speculation Station V8 - ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ Give Heavy Update

In a perfect world the Heavy update will come out alongside a super-duper surprise Source 2 update.
But that would make too much money. Silly boy.
If Valve were to do a source 2 port for TF2 there would likely be a public beta since it would likely be buggy. I don't think they would just spring it on us.
I had a thought and was wondering if this would in any way affect the legality of the GRU
instead of providing any speed boost or draining health, it did standard damage, but caused a small explosion on hit with any enemy or surface? this would allow Heavy to be more mobile with small blast jumps but at a direct health cost, rather than a more passive speed boost.
make it a new item
There are now 26 banned weapons in 6s, two from bugs/newness (DF and GP) for reference the 24 remaining are
BASE Jumper, Reserve Shooter, Soda Popper, Bonk, Flying Guillotine, C-a-C, Mad Milk, Pocket Pistol, Atomizer, Cow Mangler, Mantreads, DA, Natascha, BSS, FoS, Rescue Ranger, Short Circuit, Wrangler, Quick-Fix,
Vaccinator, Solemn Vow, Machina, Sydney Sleeper, Jarate
How would you change these with the specific goal of unbanning?
Is there a point of having the Reserve Shooter unbanned? Afaik no one even uses it anymore cause of how strong the nerf was.
because bad players depended on the airblast for it. Doesn't mean it's any bad. it remains a big fuckyou to rocketjumps.
Anyhow, some of the concepts can't fit all requirements to be fun, useful and balanced for pubs *and* comp. Look at the parachute - never was any problem at all in average matches yet its a nono for comp. There's nothing to be done short of changing the design itself (pls no) for most of them.
Natascha shouldn't be banned.
I've heard the idea of giving jarate+mad milk a gas-passer-style regen, would that be enough or is it the inherent function of being able to jarate/milk a group of enemies that's the problem?
concept: jarate and milk without splash
you've gotta hit them like a direct pipe if you want that status effect
I think that would be okay, but I wouldn't have the meter stay after you die, but have a faster charge (either the timer or having damage fill the timer a little faster).
While you're at it Valve buff the Gas Passer, maybe make enemies soaked in gas take mini-Crist from fire damage in addition to it's current stats.
silly you. current tf2 has been a public beta for the longest time
I think source 2 is in TF2's future.
They can't very well make a Team Fortress 3 without enormously fucking with the established community, economy, and especially workshop, and they can't very well push the franchise forwards otherwise. It's not going to be any time soon, but if valve wants to renew interest in Team Fortress and keep the franchise relevant, a Source 2 port is about their best bet. It wouldn't be the first time a company has renewed series interest with an engine upgrade, Skyrim: Legendary edition was a similar situation, same with the W10 Minecraft branch which (to my knowledge?) is not in java. We also saw Quake 3 Arena brought back in Quake Live with certain engine tweaks including the removal of framerate-based acceleration.
It's currently the most logical evolution for TF, unless they're content with waiting another decade and a half for the economy to just cough out its last breath and die under a mountain of dust. And I doubt they're willing to let something that literally prints them money just die like that.
I think it's a lot more likely it'll just gradually decline and fade instead, like most of Valve's IPs. I'd love for them to prove me wrong, but I won't hold my breath.
if anything counter strike is out there.

How about it has splash, but only affects a single person (the person nearest the projectile impact)?
Have consumables only have one use unless you can get a large ammo box or return to a resupply cabinet (like original Razorback). Suddenly the choice of when to use them matters a lot more.
If the items are still too strong, limit the amount of enemies affected by splash to ~3, and/or reduce the time they're covered.
Man, have you guys lost so much hope for that company that generally hides tiny hints about things in every single one of your products that you don't care at all if there are some interesting things hidden in that VR demo?
That's the old valve
iirc it's been banned even before Pyro could use it, believe it or not, in a competitive environment it's actually OP on Soldier
it has almost been a year since the DF and the like were released, saying they are banned because they are "new" is kinda silly
Reserve Shooter was released 7 years ago with the F2P/Meet the Medic update
that has nothing to do with what I said
I was refering to this

DF's particle sucks; it's hard to see the range with it, it's huge (doesn't fit the new hitbox size at all), very flashy, and it's incredibly unoptimized.
Related to this topic, here's a very quick video showcasing the new particle effects of the DF (fixing its issues and optimizing it to reduce stutter and FPS loss), and Flamethrower's (back to the original style, fixed flickering and sometimes getting messed up in third person completely). Feedback, please.

Those DF particles look sexy as fuck
it also vanishes anywhere close player lips or stairs so they might have got rid of it to not waste anyone's time aswell.
I don't know about that, do you think DotA and CS:GO will also lose support?
