People are thinking this is tied to Antibirth, a very high quality fan mod that came out right before Afterbirth + due to it having an extremely similar logo.
I believe they worked with some of those fans with the last expansion of Issac, so working to add it to all versions would be pretty nice. Of course, switch version hasn't been touched since launch, so I wouldn't expect this for a long while.

I've been putting some hours into The Messenger, and wow does that game have more to it than I gave it credit for. Spoilers for some nice twists: turns out it was a metroidvania in disguise, where the linear map you've been traveling has had all sorts of branching paths you couldn't access until now. It's all transitioned to with a really great story section, and I was really entertained at how it all tied together.
Enemy variety seems pretty low and the humor has been hit or miss, but overall I can recommend it to those who like hard ninja gaiden-esque platformers.
