If anyone wants colored JoyCon or Pro Controller buttons just let me know, I have a ton sitting around that need a home.
There are many many must haves on 3DS.
3DS has an amazing line of exclusive games: Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora's Mask 3D, Link Between Worlds, Super Mario 3D Land, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, Kirby: Planet Robobot, Dragon Quest VIII, Bravely Default, Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, Super Smash Bros, Super Mario Maker, Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon, Metal Gear Solid 3D, the list goes on. Most of these games are now $20. You can't go wrong with the system, hell I upgraded mine recently with the Super Nintendo Edition one. If 3D isn;t your thing, just the the New 2DS.
Beat the True FInal Boss of Octopath on my first attempt so I'm feeling pretty chipper. Can't say it was all genius planning on my end as I did get some tips beforehand. I also came came like, 2 inches away from totally wiping as my entire party was hard murdered and Ophillia was the only one alive with something crazy like 190 HP. I had to spam Olives of Life (L) and got some insanely lucky rolls on speed but managed to somehow regain ground. It's a really fun and really challenging fight- it's just a shame that a TON of people are going to skip it/just look it up due to the awful level grind for it and the dumb lack of save points after the boring boss rush.
Apparently it was the 15th anniversary for F-Zero GX on the 25th.

Y'know? I kept telling myself I'm not gonna dust off my 3DS just to play WarioWare, but god damn it, I tried that demo and I think I'm totally gonna buy it. What's wrong with me?????
I haven't watched the video yet but Haedox seriously needs to improve his persona art because jesus christ it doesn't look good.
You're not the only one. I've been playing WarioWare GBA on the 3DS while I wait for Gold.
I while I waited for Gold, I played some WarioWare D.I.Y. And I will say this, I'm a bit bummed that the game hasn't been re-released or remade or something, because that game is fantastic!
WarioWare D.I.Y. with a higher resolution, expanded toolset and a better hub for sharing microgames would've been the dream. At least give us back rubbing and slashing.
Damn shame tha D.I.Y. server got shutdown. Would be great if they remake it in the future, and add the ability to program button and more touch controls ( scribble, drag, ect.)
https://twitter.com/DarkDetectiveNL/status/1023469687290638339 Well this is disappointing.
From what I've been reading about this, it sounds like there's a newer producer named Aya Kyogoku that has been co-directing since New Leaf. She was made co-producer with Happy Home Designer alongside Hisashi Nogami (the splat2n guy), so it's possible this has been planned for a while. Still a little sad, but it looks like the series has been left in good hands.
Nintendo has been doing a pretty good job with letting new people work on their franchises. BotW and Mario Odyssey are shining examples of that. I'm curious to see what they do with Animal Crossing. hopefully next year
As long as it's not amiibo Festival 2 or something of the sort, I'm good. Animal Crossing Pocket Camp it's a good distraction for a while, but it doesn't hook me as much as New Leaf did.
16 hours logged in Go Vacation, entirely in co-op 3 player. Found about 60% of the animals, including all 5 of the cryptids. Like half of the minigames are unlocked, and I'm steadily grabbing all the hidden chests throughout each resort. The game is perfect for relaxing too; the cruises, helicopter rides, ect all have voiced tour guides, who go over the fictional areas in the game. The music blasts all around the place, all vocal versions of certain Namco Bandai game songs like this one; https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=roXq45OwAt4 It's such a chill game. While I miss some of the omitted minigames, I'm just glad to have this game again. I recommend it to everyone with siblings, or a bunch of friends who wanna just explore, do stunts off of buildings, or go animal hunting(picture taking, no killing!).
WarioWare DIY with at worst QR Code support would be the dream. That game was the Mario Maker of its series, it deserved more
Have any of you done the PSP Nub mod for the 3DS? Were there any downsides if you did?
Final Boss is neat, but damn is the ending of that game not satisfying at all. Game really falls apart near the end for me.
WarioWare DIY feels like it came out years too early, iirc they had to make special DS cards that could rewrite memory to accomodate custom microgames (think it was said in an Iwata Asks interview) and they didn't have a fleshed out online service like Miiverse. I mean, Miiverse is dead now but you can't tell me Mario Maker is better off without it.
This might be too fast for some viewers, so do display caution. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjE64YTqabI
Is that so? Because in the tests I've been reading that the quests are kinda parallel and disconnected.
If people consider this a spoiler then I'll edit it but the 8 stories in the game are all connected but you don't find out during their actual stories. Just a super brief (but super hard) easily miss able dungeon post game. It's satisfying seeing how everything ties together but also it's not super needed either.
This is a few days old now, from last Tuesday. https://www.forbes.com/sites/olliebarder/2018/07/24/satoshi-mitsuhara-on-the-joys-of-running-hal-laboratory-and-his-friendship-with-satoru-iwata/#753a44fd6f1e
A lot of the content is parallel to each other. Some stories play out very similar, just about every Chapter 1 is the same chain of events with different story. Depending on how many RPG's you play and how you like to play them you could also feel very disconnected going through the game. No one has any real involvement in the story of one another aside from some brief "Tales of" style side conversations. Which is nice that it at least does that. I could say a lot about this game and its mechanics. I Loved the game at first, but after 50+ hours I only like it. Haha. Like I said above though, someones experience with RPG's can determine how they feel about the game.
So this looks interesting. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1274541538/jumpgate-a-versatile-dock-for-switch-and-smart-dev
I'm still very wary about getting 3rd party docks, given that they all have the potential to brick the system.
IR Information Just south of the 20 million mark they were looking for, without Pokemon, Smash, Metroid and Animal Crossing. Dongly Nog, Mario Tennis and Kirby join the 1 million club, and Mario Kart 8 joins Odyssey at the 10 million, with Breath of the Wild not far behind.
ARMS is at 2 million. Not bad for a new IP.
