Yeah the sequel sounded amazing and what we got was internet jokes that were out dated while the movie was in pre-production and Disney circle jerking about themselves. Mario was also supposed to play a major part in it but I guess Universal blew that idea up.

So no tweet for the Direct today, so it pretty much means it's on Sept. 13th, unless it gets delayed again.
Do they seriously think they can get a member of the 3DS hacking scene to turn against it?
I mean for the right price I imagine a lot of them would lol.
"There is no honor among thieves". If the price is right, there could be people who say fuck it and just take the money, especially because these people might not be getting much out of doing it for free anyway besides temporary recognition. That being said there's lots of loyal homebrewers out there who won't do this.
Remember the guys who hacked the Splatoon leaderboards to just tell Nintendo to get better security? There's more to it than hacking to get homebrew.
I imagine some hackers do it just to prove to themselves that they can, not because they want to use it. And hacking into systems such as this work as a form of resume...
It's always a dick move when someone steals a group project for the bug bounty, but gainful employment is nothing to be upset about.
I heard somewhere a while back that they needed to sell 2 million to break even on it, and they're no where near that figure.
Those numbers are only from the Japan sales, I'm sure the worldwide numbers adds up to way more than that.
that makes much more sense, thanks.

This is from three hours ago. https://twitter.com/SplatoonJP/status/1039750881359671298 The Japanese Twitter for Splatoon issued an apology for the delay with the new content, which has been silent since the Direct was delayed and it was discovered from datamining the update had been pushed back. While from what I've seen this is just an apology for the original delay, I've seen some argue that it's just vague enough that they're talking about delaying the update and possibly the Direct again.
As best as I can tell, it's not about further delays, just that the content's been delayed by pretty much half a month so far.
If they were to announce the direct for Thursday US/Friday AEST & Japan, they'd have to announce it today or tomorrow. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what happens. Just don't be like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZMvqwarTXs

It's a little silly that they haven't said anything yet.
they still have a couple of hours left
7 am PST is usually the time they post it.

nintendo online will launch september 19th, more to be discussed over in tomorrow direct https://twitter.com/Nintendo/status/1039876899277692929
Well, I guess the Online thing will take most of the Direct.
they'll try to sweeten the deal offering new (and maybe free at that too) dlc for their multiplayer games. oh and smash is obviously gonna play a huge part in that
This is the first Direct that conflicts with a previously scheduled event for me. Not going to complain that we're finally going to get it tomorrow, though. If I'm lucky I'll be able to arrive at my destination early and watch it on my phone.
The online section is just going to fall flat on its face.
18th for NA, 19th for EU btw.
I suspect there'll be a rift between "that looked good especially for 20 dollars!" and "this looks bad no matter how much it is", as some people are more swayed by Nintendo's marketing than others (like me, regrettably)
I don't understand what they could possibly do to make $20 for basically renting a set of NES games, a cloud save feature that works with almost none of the games that desperately need backuping, and online play for P2P games with horrible netcodes.
