"Buy the game I guess. Looks like it'll be fun."
*Reporter holds out microphone* ”Mr. Mario! Mr. Mario! Care to comment on the perpetuation on the unhealthy work ethics of Japanese society?” ”Uh, no-a questions, a-please...”

Is there limited tries?
Jesus this looks familiar. I'm sure there was a lot of similar artwork published, submitted by readers of whichever Nintendo magazine was around in Australia in the mid-90's. I remember one in particular I believe Yoshi and Mario were shooting Sonic's corpse with Tommy Guns. Somehow that stuck with me since my childhood

Nintendos acting like this is the first time Mario 3 is being released to the world. ugh https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1029057539785334785
Playing NES games online doesn't really sound very fun at all to me. N64 games with online would be a different story
Every time a new Nintendo console launches we have to go through the same damn motions of the Virtual Console not launching with it, then only having games you already had a billion times before you can get to the good stuff. Come on, there are so many games you could rerelease to thunderous applause that people would appreciate being able to legally obtain. You shut down Emuparadise and CoolRoms, but you don't even let me buy 1% of those games legally.
(Accidentally quoted this and mobile newpunch won't let me delete, apologizes) The problem seems to be their approach to emulation- they want their VC to not only be perfect with the original launches of those games, but also have savestates and menus. This is why the GBA ports on 3DS never got sold, it uses the internal GBA emulator within the DS emulator within the 3DS, meaning savestates or even closing the system doesn't work. of course the average person probably doesn't care about "perfect" emulation, and would just be happy buying the games wholesale, but Nintendo doesn't care. It doesn't help that the legal team of Nintendo probably calls the shots on all this, and everyone else either agrees or doesn't care. I can only hope that the long life of the switch will have them put out more titles more quickly, more compared to how the Wii pushed out so many titles (at least compared to the Wii u)
It would be acceptable if buying the online granted you access to a full archive of retro titles from different eras, not just a few very common NES games.
Galaxy brain: have them all be public domain, let's not let Nintendo be videogames' Disney
It makes me so sad knowing Nintendo won't have a Virtual Console on Switch, I think this whole Nintendo online thing is one of the stupidest things Nintendo has done in a while.
Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Tennis Aces and Mario Kart 8 DX are on sale at Walmart in the US for $45. They are also being price-matched by Amazon.
Dark Souls Oct 15
https://twitter.com/BandaiNamcoUS/status/1029367163562405888?s=19 Solaire amiibo launching same day. Sure hope the one I was able to nab is still mine
Yeah, I'm still hoping my pre-order is still valid for the amiibo.
I don't like how this amiibo is priced ten euros more than the others. I would've bought it otherwise.
https://twitter.com/NintendoUK/status/1029403761964408834 UK gets a Limited Edition and the Nintendo store gives you a steelbook, and the US gets... nothing.
For a moment I thought "that sucks, I would've bought this", since I've always bought my console games physical. But I think Smash U is the perfect game to have digitally. That OST is gonna weight a lot so I just need to prepare an SD card I guess. Also I'll avoid having to stay in line for hours on release day like I did with the Switch. Or I'll avoid risking missing out on 3 weeks of Smash like I did with Brawl because Amazon delayed my shipping twice.
I can't begin to imagine that overall size of the soundtrack in FLAC quality. I bet there's going to be a few dedicated soldiers (god bless) who're going to game-rip all 900-ish tracks.
if smash 4 is anything to go on, ripping the bgm will be easy. you'll probably have a full dump within the first couple of days. sakurai says they're using the same engine, so it's likely the music is stored in an updated version of the same format
Psst... reminder that Switch games aren't region locked. So if you can get your hands on it, why not?
It'd be nicer not having to deal with import prices, I suppose.
Ye but it's an option now. Unlike 3DS. Or Wii U.
Give me N64 games on a portable you hacks
GCN Custom Robo with online support that didn't suck farts would be appriciated. Maybe a new Excite game in the same vein as Trucks too.
Man, I really want to see another Custom Robo. Arena on the DS was great but the Story was meh, your typical saturday morning cartoon plot. But the battle and customization was great aside from some balancing.
I’d love a new excite truck. The one for the wii was fantastic
