I just wonder what's going on for the future of tf2.. the lack of communication shows just no more plans :\ i suppose it was a good run...
We could really use a Jill post up in here right about now.
Apparently they aren't, because I'm not advocating a game revolving around four Heavies. Moreover, he's right, you're a bit of a jerk.
One full minute of a fucking CS GO trading site ad right at the beginning, then spends the rest of the video meandering around talking about how "updates have been slow lately but TF2 is still pretty popular and I really like TF2 some of my best friends play TF2, you know TF2 has issues with marketing and here's a rumor from facepunch that some rando with no credibility once said because I'm Valve news network and I still don't care about verifying anything and if valve were to end TF2 they should have a community content focused end of life plan and here's my three favorite new community maps that have come out lately so I guess TF2 is probably going to get at least one more update at some point before the game dies make sure to buy lots of knives from CSGOtrading.com like and subscribe" Basically he spends 90% of the video waffling around padding things with random points that are all over the place, with the only content being "a few backend MvM files got slightly altered and some Valve members made a steam group with the pyro as the icon". You can safely skip it, I think VNN made this video more so he could get $50 to buy a new game than because he actually wanted to inform anybody about anything.
Please be more considerate. Tyler needs the ad and sponsor bucks, he has a kid to take care of. Himself.
Lack of communication has been an issue since 2011.
I'm guessing the TF Team was either working on VR or something? I mean maybe that's why they haven't done anything.
Don't filter out TF2 '.pop' files in the VPK dump file extension..
hopefully they are just busy this year, and theres still a strong future for the game.
If they are working on something as big as Inferno again, then that would be awesome.
tbh I want an update that focuses on a gamemode. MvM, pd, etc...
I want an update that isnt medals.
I want an update.
Sure, ask him something about Steam for Linux.
Yo that actually exists kinda. It's called quake.
Gods friendlies are the worst.
^ Ignore this. Looks like it's really com full circle for little ol' Team Fotress
Happened today. Joined the game, saw 2 friendlies, killed them, got kicked. Reason for my kick. Player was trying to play the game.
The largest thing that scares me about TF2 is how Valve has handled the closures of other IP, with silence. They leave entire communities waiting for something THEY know will never happen, but will never say it for a crazy amount of reasons.
I used to get kicked ( or attempted to be kicked ) by friendlies that crawled to the front lines and got killed by me ( even if I was targetting his teammate and not him direclty ) pretty commonly when Quickplay was still a thing. Which is why I don't tolerate them now-a-days. Friend had contracts a while ago had contracts left to do 2fort. We went in with a group of six in a party. When doing the objective people start complaining to us about doing the objective. To the point they attempted to kick us. Felt good to instant fail all kicks towards us ( since a party of six means 50% of the votes are always in your favor ) and kicking them out instead. I don't generally enjoy abusing the party system. But If you're going to start shit, be prepared to get hit...
Tyler, I think everybody that calls themselves a TF2 enthusiast is glad you and VNN exist. You are arguably the most important valve community relations asset there is, which is why a lot of people are wondering right now- Why did you make this most recent video? As others above have pointed out, a vast majority of it is speculation based off of in this case far more unsubstantiated rumors and completely unrelated things like the baloonicorn group. I get that these may indeed be reasons to speculate, but when you title a video AN UPDATE IS COMING with no actual assurance of that claim and spend most it talking about how much you love the game and it’s current problems, well, that seems incongruous. The video itself isn’t bad, it just seems like it would be better titled as a speculation or something befitting your discussion of the game’s state.
No, he's talking about literal Quake, not the Team Fortress mod. That's 1v1 competitive FPS with almost insta-respawns. There's no reloading, no objectives besides kill other people, et cetera.
Prior to Jungle Inferno, Valve did say, "Here's to another decade!" However, with Valve's diminishing content returns, that begs the question of precisely what they meant; another decade on life support perhaps?
Portal2 and especially L4D2 have been coming to mind a lot lately. I just remember how slow and painful the process was coming to realize the L4D2 blog and game itself was complete after the Cold Stream campaign. I kept waiting for a new campaign to end the story similar to how The Sacrifice ended the L4D1 series. Hope TF2 doesnt end the same way. I can say there is optimism after seeing that the 3 flagship games that Valve talks about on their website being Counter Strike, Dota, and TF2.
I thought csgo was dramatically slowing down however they just shipped a new gun so...
CSGO also has historically have had less to add. It's a much less dynamic game with all of the game elements and people get mad if they fuck with the meta too much. Very competitive game. TF2 is mostly a casual game and people look forward for new content under most circumstances.
CSGO is not slowing down, especially not after the secessful push into China, and the massive work that went into backporting the Source 2 HUD system into Source. Also, the CSGO Twitter is an incredible example of community management from Valve, they are not fooling around, and CSGO is about to start speeding up.
Why exactly do people think the game is dead and no one is working on it anymore?
The TF2 Wiki just assaulted my upload feed with like 25 re-uploaded/redone weapon demonstrations at once https://i.imgur.com/dZRoQh3.png
That Flying Guillotine animation is just the worst.
