Hmmm now I know why I see those small explosive puffs come from the shield from time to time. I did a Elemental roundslash just before he started aiming to charge at me, that's some sweet move I never really paid attention to even since I played MH4U.
Ah, bollocks. Managed to kill the two "kinds of their ecosystems" and do the final quest to get into high rank to be able to do the event, but it expired just as I reached that mission. Will this event cycle back around in the future? I feel like the events right now are catered for people with twice as much free time as me
Did the latest patch fix the multiplayer issues? I don't own the game, I just read that people had a hard time playing together. My buddies and I were waiting until that stuff was fixed before getting it.
Play hammer and you'll understand, because nobody realizes how much they fuck up life for hammer users who are only really good at going for one bodypart and have a horrifically long combo to perform that is stupidly easy to whiff that when you finally rear up for a big bang finish someone pokes you out of it for a 40 damage hit. That's why I switched to S&S
Since the patch yesterday I haven't lost connection once, whereas before it was rare to get through one mission without disconnecting.
ive had one game with a hammer user so far and i made sure (and really, i need to in order to hit the head) to use the upper thrust instead of the straight thrust to not hit him. i played hammer in P3rd and 4U, i know what its like
Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately in this case I've got a GTX 1080. I already tried updating to the lastest drivers for it but no change.
I only sparingly ran into it before and now I don't even see it at all. Also, most of the people on my friends list didn't even run into it before. You can just buy it, see if it works, and return it if it doesn't.
the sound of the ground popping open when xeno presses it in is so satisfying
A friend says it's still happening to him, but for me it's fine. Didn't disconnect for the whole time i was playing (about 3 hours).
if you're playing multiplayer as well as melee, there's literally no reason to not have the flinch free skill at level 1. you're doing yourself a disservice if you don't have it.
I was able to play with my three friends last night with no issues
xeno is just too big is the issue and spins around too fast to get any meaningful hits in apart from its feet. unless you're an ig user or ranged, have fun stabbing its feet for 30 mins
Xeno is like Akantor/Ukanlos but devoid of any of the fun or intensity those two had, on top of not being mountable.
As a Longsword main, Xeno was hell. Being walked over whilst trying to get hits on his feet was the main source of damage done to me throughout that fight. I chugged pretty much every potion I had during the fight due to that. Shame, because I absolutely love the concept and design of the monster, but the fight is punishing (in a frankly unfun way) for all but a few certain weapon types.
yeah I did it first as with ls, then did it again with ig and man, it was so much easier
Any of my HH bois in here?

this weeks events look really fun, one is 5 HR monsters in 50 minutes
Oh man this makes me wish for the brachydios in MHW
Guys, bringing poop should be standard when going on a HR hunt. Carpet bomber will no longer be a issue. That and you can shoot Xeno out the air when he goes for the laser spam, I believe he drops ALOT of thorn pods. Just one is enough to bring him down.
Only if you place the shot in his chest. I can spam shots all day but it'll only stagger him and he'll continue flying.
not just that, apparently they each have a higher chance of being a gold crown monster, so if any of you are looking for gold crowns, that's the mission to go on.
I tried the Azure Rathalos fight in the arena quests where the Gathering Hub is. Are theae things using tempered mechanics because this thing just fucked my day up.
No, a different colored monster (not outlined in purple) would just be the same as the original monster only difference is that being aggressive is their normal behavior.
I know but I fought Azure Rathalos before and he wasn't anywhere near this aggressive before. Tzitzi-ya-ku, Pukei-Pukei, Barroth. All of them from the arena quests were aggressive as shit.
I'm looking up Arena quests, and some people are saying scaled up monsters that are more agressive than in the hunts. Might want to try the Arena with friends rather than do it solo if you can.
Oh hey, they 'fixed' people dropping from matches by switching it from an error code to "They left". Yeah I'm sure all three members left at the same time. While still leaving me with the power boosted monster.
Take a screenshot of the message when it happens again, I'm curious to what it looks like in-game.
In arena and special arena quests the monster is unnaturally aggressive because it does not have moments where it will ease up and go somewhere else or to eat. They also don't limp or go to sleep but they do get exhausted. It's not really any more aggressive than it normally is since it's a small area with nowhere to run to so it's always on your ass.
