Monster Hunter - PC can finally get hip checked too!

Try the hdr version without enabling hdr, make sure you erase all of the initial one you used.
Tried Lance for the first time. Why haven't I been using this sooner? I can never get peeled off the boss. I'm like that one mosquito that keeps flying around you that you can never seem to kill.
Make sure you've downloaded the right version. Kaldaien hasn't merged mhw fixes with the main branch yet.

Apparently I can't enter the Vaal Kazak urgent without doing mine first... but I CAN enter expeditions with it on it. Strange but I'm not complaining because I love being able to do that, and I hope I can do it with Kushala/Teostra too once I complete their tracks
I used the one that was specifically made for MHW that was linked here in the thread. I got the mod working (mostly), but it requires me to turn off a bunch of shit that apparently interferes with the mod (EVGA Precision, Nvidia Ansel Tool, Avast, etc.).
Sleep ammo is fun as hell but goddamn is it hit or miss as to whether or not pubs will actually take advantage of the target falling asleep or just continue to flail standard attacks.
you have to watch the cutscene yourself and the other player also have to watch the cutscene before you can join the mission. All story mission works like this
So I tried the bow for the first time since the PS4 demo, and it's interesting but it feels like I'm doing something wrong. Back in the day the optimal bow strat was to find one with a high level pierce and just multi hit the fuck out of the monster, but I'm not sure pierce is even a thing anymore. There seems to be a lot of complexity with slide-charging and using level 1 charge into level 2 too. It feels like there's an optimal damage strategy but I dunno.
optimal strategy for bow is M1 + M1 + M1 and then M2. Occasionally Dragonpiercer and raining attacks when it's possible.
Yeah I used to play bow a lot in 3rd and seems like just doing charged shots within range and then hitting it with a powershot seems to be the same thing.
Obviously there's more gimmicks now like charged stepping off a cliff and midair shooting but generally feels the same.
YAHAHA! You found me!

I really REALLY like this game, but when that fucking dumb TRex locks on to me from like 50 meters away and jumps STRAIGHT ON TOP OF ME, I just want to get a ticket to Japan, meet up with the devs, grab and shake them real good, with enough force to dislocate all the baby's heads in the world at once, and yell WHY.
it's gonna be hard to believe, but the more you play, the more anjanath and rathian and everything else is going to become cakewalks.
I killed Pink Rathian in 3 minutes. The game is all about exploiting the mobster's weaknesses.
Learn their behaviors; nothing is stopping you from picking a weapon like lance or sw/oard and literally patiently pecking them to death, the pukey/roth trees are p much set up for you learn either of these setups; by the time you'll need them you'll have the mats to use them, and frankly jerkanath is a skill check wall, that's literally his deal, if you know how to deal with him effectively, everything at his level will be cake once you know the tells.
Learn the system, and until you get to tempered fuck you dragons you'll be well on the way.
shit bitch piece of pink shit fat ass tail
god fucking damn, that asshole's tail must pick up a few pixels along the way, it always hits me when it fucking shouldn't
I swear she's goddamn adjusting on the last second so it connects on to me, fuck OFF
So a big bad of MH4U is the Dalamadur. A big old reptile resembling a snake with these distinctive spines on it.

Well I read that there was one in the rotten vale somewhere and though't i'd see if it's true, turns out it was the very first thing you see when leaving the upper camp.

And that's just it's head. The one in 4U is a child in comparison.
i dont give a damn if great jagras is like, way low on the food chain, that thing is my spirit animal
it loves to eat and sleep what more does one need
also hammer main i fucking love the raw power of that weapon whew
nothing says 'i wanna punch a fucker dead' like pounding a monster in the head over and over and over for a total damage of 650+ and my hammer is kinda unupgraded still
You think that's hard? That's just the tutorial level.
That's the next level over there.

i swear he can leap the distance width-wise of the ancient forest pond
Try changing up your weaponry and armour. Rathian's main elemental weaknesses are Dragon (3*) and Lightning (2*). The Ailments she's susceptible to are Stun (3*), Sleep and Paralysis (both 2*). If you can grab full poison resist (I reached this with rathian belt beta and poison resist charm 2, which is mostly pukei pukei bits from LR and HR) you can render a large part of her strategy moot. If you have a weapon capable of severing (Can bows sever?), Go right for the tail as it removes her ability to poison completely and reduces it's hitbox size too.
Idk if the dragonbone bow 2 is at the level of beating up a pink rathian, but it's got 360 dragon damage and can take both sleep and para coating so it might be worth a try.
It's also always worth carrying flash pods (and if you want to go the extra mile, 10 flashbugs to make into flash pods instead of or in addition to carrying them premade) as just about every monster has a rough time with those.
Ok, who thought putting Kushala on a forest map was fitting or a good idea? Even the coral map would've been better for it. Did they freak out because of the lack of an actual ice map?
gotta jump in just to say severing the tail of rathian/rathalos doesn't actually prevent them from poisoning you with tail attacks
it seems to slightly reduce the chance but even with poison resist 2 and chopping their tails off I still get poisoned on occasion
I don't remember fighting Kushala Daora in the ancient forest ever (not even on an expedition), did you get placed there to fight him? Or are you talking about those dumb expeditions that you gotta search for tracks? The quest where you must hunt him at least put you in Elder's Recess.
Really? I know it doesnt help with Rathalos as his poison comes from his claws, but I swear down Rathian's are all in her tail.
(unless you can break the other bit that secretes poison to stop attacks from there inflicting it in the same way)
Yeah, both the footprint searches and a few missions. The elders recess is fine and fitting but the ancient forest feels like such a bizarre pick.
Its habitat inside the forest is super restricted too, like it was crammed in inside the only 2-3 open areas of the map.
hey guys wanna hear a funny story
so here i am trying to get my pandemonium's root from vaal, and i need his fangs. Took me a while to finally get the parts, and by a while i mean a few days on and off hunting him
turns out for the final level i need jiiva veil, so w/e i go to hunt it and i get the veil
And a Gem from the carve.
Cool.
And I get 2 more gems from the rewards screen.
Sweet!
So, Hazaak fangs are a decent silver-gold investigation reward and from breaking its head, which I rarely accomplish and I usually never get one.
But for jiiva i got 3 gems in one hunt
calculating the chances that is
0.0045%
so where was this percentage whenever i needed a fucking attack gem
Attack gems are a myth.
Attack gems rarity 7 my ass
