yeah he's fucking hilarious, makes my hunts absolute shitshows I love the goose so much <3
I switched to the lance recently and I'm loving it but I wish there was a way to be a proper tank and draw aggro, the challenger mantle is worthless

Am I the only person who thinks Bazel's scream sounds like the loudest orgasm ever?
just having 120 hours in world fucked with me super hard going back to GU. i keep forgetting i cant move while healing and the combat feels way more fluid in world.
I like gunlance for non-elder dragons. There is literally nothing most monsters can do to get through the shield, and you can sneak in combos in between their moves. God forbid you face a Diablos (or Black Diablos) with it, that poor creature is just going to die without doing anything.
God I can't wait for Devil Sausage to come to the PC version.I need to re-make the Anguish GS.
Lordy is the interface in GU ugly. I think I enjoy this more than world currently, but some of the 3ds origins are a little too obvious.
So I'm trying to get the armor talon and power talon and I need Bazelguese talons in order to get it. I just finished a Bazelgeuse hunt and got two talons, but now it's saying that I have no talons in my inventory. In fact, it's saying that I have none of the materials in my inventory. Is it stored in a separate place in your item box? I really don't want to spend another half an hour fighting it again...
Given how Zorah and Xenojiva are Elder Dragons and random quests that appear, Capcom did a shit job with them. Especially with Zorah. The mission is way too long, too little to do, annoying and long-winded. They really could have done a better job with randomly appearing quests like that.
I really have no idea why some monsters are counted as Elder Dragons and some aren't
Elder Dragons normally change the environment with them. They're like a force of nature.
Nothing about Ner at all is really unique though. What distinguishes him from anything else?
The fact that he eats other elder dragons.
Rajangs eats Kirins but I guess outside of the lightning, they're just really swole apes.
I feel like the monster selection we got in MHW is pretty boring. There's not enough variety. Where are the farting monkeys and the bellysliding bunnies? Or the bears? Pls Capcom all I want is Rajang
Elder Dragon is a wastebasket category. It includes any monster who is exceptionally powerful and could potentially cause cataclysmic damage to mankind. That's why you have monsters like Kirin, Jhen Mohran and Nakarkos there even though they don't resemble normal dragons.
>Kirin, elder dragon >cant be classified in any other way >clearly a horse
You ever seen a horse without a horn in the MonHun universe?
Depends, have i got 10 minutes and a large hammer?
Considering the fucker almost cause cataclysmic destruction to the new world by trying to eat something the size of a mountain, its a pretty big deal.
Hunter's Guild: "What the fuck is a horse?"

Thats all fine and dandy, but the real problem is animation breaking into literal death I got the kadachi strikebow, which isn't exactly perfect but its still one of her weaknesses plus got a jewel on it to make it a bit more spicy and put me up to 30% affinity with the rest of the set. I can take her to pretty low hp, but then, out of fucking nowhere, she just starts shitting on animations, and not being all that easy to tell what she's gonna pull out of her ass next. For example, yday, she rushed towards me 3 times in a row, and that shit seems to have barely any animation time to tell. Not to mention the times she knocks me back and I get up like an old lady, which she promptly uses to run around, or THE opportunistic stun of the year...
The "rush three times consecutively" is an actual single attack Rathian does when she's in rage mode. As a rule of thumb you should never stand in front of her when she's enraged because there's always the chance she's gonna pull that garbage off.
My first priority when it comes to the Rath family is to break their wings so they can't pull off annoying shit as often
He's an antibody and hard check against/with elder dragons, which is pretty damn unique in the ecosystem, new or old.
The thing about monster hunter's monsters is that their moveset is relatively limited and the trick is to understand what a given monster can do, and pick up on the tell for it which will happen in time. I've noticed Rathians will: Backflip tailswipe (will apply poison, so dodge it or sever that tail and make her look like a weenie) Do a 360 spin up to two times Charge between two and three times in succession Launch a fireball from the ground, sometimes firing three (center, their right, their left in that order iic) in a cone if they're mad Dont stay right up in her face, if you catch her doing an attack she's known to chain, back off and let it play out (use the time to use items and whatnot) before you start fighting again. Alternatively, abuse flash pods and bully her to death
Its not just remembering movesets too tbh, its also keeping in mind and remembering the range and arc of the monster's attacks. My friends complain constantly about how bad Diablos is in multiplayer compared to singleplayer, but I haven't had a problem with him in either in ages. They never keep in mind how wide his attack arcs are and how you can get hit even if his model doesn't touch you.
Got my first attack jewel just now!
