I'm glad it at least runs much better than expected, buttery smooth on my little GB laptop on high which is nice with all the complaints I was expecting it to chug. M+KB controls aren't that bad but take awhile to get used to, certainly more comfortable than a DS4 control for me. I just wish I didn't have to start over and listen to all the lame tutorial shit again and I can't seem to find an option to turn tutorial popups off either. Veteran Hunter, Handler: I've already beat the main questline on PS4, YOU DON'T NEED TO TELL ME HOW TO TRACK MONSTERS AND GATHER SHIT.
Getting crashes about every time I go into the field. No error codes and it seems to happen at random, so I've no clue what to even report.
At least now you can fight the Basil Goose with much better framerates. Always dreaded fighting him on the PS4, especially with another monster around, could barely tell what the fuck was happening half the time, was almost a slide-show at times.

I'll be honest, I never had a problem with the B-52 on PS4, I was always able to clear him out real easily. What DID start fucking me over was the regular visits from the Hungry Pickle.
I read that it says that everytime you start a quest. I haven't verified it myself though.
Ye, I had to turn off steam notifications because I couldn't see what item I was using anymore lol
Getting a connection to other players can be a bit finnicky, but once you're actually out there hunting, the netcode seems to work pretty well.
If there's anything that's hurting me a little from X, it's that the lack of weapon arts has made the weapons feel a little.. bland. I cycled through a lot of them in training before just going back to Greatsword because I'm a sucker for big numbers and colorful charge-up attacks. It's a multitude of emotions. It's somewhere between a "I just shit in your cornflakes" but also a solid "oh, you" I've taken to spamming it Telegram.
The steam notifications (friend is playing Monster Hunter: World) will pop up every time a friend posts a quest I believe (they should probably turn this off) And yeah multiplayer is pretty borked right now, likely due to fact the game has hundreds of thousands of people playing and a lot more than the devs were expecting

Game runs surprisingly smooth. Haven't had any dips below 60 at all whatsoever. For some reason I was expecting much worse, so I'm pleasantly surprised.
Every time I'm about to True Charged Slash a sleeping monsters tail and some bowgunner blasts me away I want to die.
i never have problems joining randos but when i try to play with my friend it either fails to join or disconnects
Play the game in Japanese? Thats unfortunately the only way you can make the handler tolerable.
I'm pretty sure there's actually a "Hunter Language" setting that gives the game the classic gibberish voices.
Christ wha the fuck do I pick? Bow looks cool af, but so does heavy bowgun... But greatsword is A FUCKING HUGE SWORD that hits like a planet colliding with something... Problem being that I ready myself to do the HEAVEN'S WRATH EARTH DIVING TECHNIQUE NO°800 that will hit for 100+ ez, and then the catch goes "lol dodge :3" What to do what to do...
if its your first time playing GS isnt a great beginner weapon, you really have to know timing and monster attacks to be able to get in hits effectively and keep your damage up. hammer, longsword, SnS and bowguns are better, as theyre either more versatile/forgiving/allow more mobility, or have easier combos and shit.
Man, being a bow hunter is better than ever. Every fight with a large monster feels like a deadly dance and its amazing.
On the PC version I'm trying every weapon that I'm not used to, I kinda like the bowguns, but not really sure what ranged weapon I really like
Heavy bowgun it is for now! Plus its upgraded to jagras already.
When I first launched the game I was really apprehensive about the bowguns, specifically the heavy one. Turns out the feel is fucking amazing and it just might be my main wep.
is Anajath soloable? I've managed to beat everyone solo so far with the right gear, and i've gotten myself a water elemental Switchaxe and i've got armour that isnt resistant to fire, but isnt weak to it either (the only set availible to me that *does* have fire resistance is Bone and I think that's fallen off in effectiveness by now)
somebody please explain bowguns to a brain that only knows how to gunlance
just watch out for its fire attack (otherwise its 1HKO) and be as mobile as you would be with deviljho
i've never fought the pickle Furthest i've ever got in a monhun game is probably the blangonga in MHF2 and that feels like a century ago
hot gamer tip: any resource node that is thrice-loot (ore veins, bone zones, flower patch, etc), you can loot it faster by holding the button rather than mashing it like a maniac
ive never played LBG, but from what i know LBG is more mobile than HBG, but HBG has more capacity, lower recoil and reload speed in comparison. it also has wyvernheart/snipe. heart is like a light machine gun, while snipe is one shot that pierces and plants additional explosives shots. HBG can also use some ammo that LBG cant, like wyvern ammo (think like a GS; one big charged explosive shot for massive damage) LBG is basically run and gun and easily reposition yourself, you never let up on the damage. HBG is more strategical thinking, and you have to be wary of the monster targeting you and look for openings. you fire less often than LBG will, but deal more damage per shot as a result. obviously you have status/elemental shots too. i dont know what the difference would be for that between HBG and LBG. on top of all that you have to craft the higher ammos (mostly the ones numbered 3), and the higher numbered ones will do more damage than the ones below it. deviljho is really aggressive and hits hard so you have to be on your feet. anjanath is slightly less so. id say its the first "real" fight in low rank, and acts as an armor check. he has a wide sweep fire attack, and a straight flamethrower-esque attack.
the worst part about starting over is having to find the footsteps for all those monsters again to proceed to main story, ugh.
oh yeah, theres also the critical distance mechanic for bowguns. basically theres a certain distance you wanna be from a monster in order for your shots to deal the most amount of damage. its really just practice to figure out what that distance is
