I still demand auto shotguns
XM1014 for security, browning auto 5 for insurgents
they were in the source mod and this game should have them too
Does the game crash on map load for anyone else?
What's the word on this, is it worth buying?
Great bit of fun, tho i've only touched the co-op mode so far. Map selection is currently a bit limited, but that's being worked with; optimisation has been consistently improved with each patch. There's still a bit of a hitreg issue, tho that's gotten a lot better as well.
no,,,,,,,,,not yet,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Map selection is limited af at the moment but if you're fine with that and the kind of usual bugs you'd expect in a beta version of a game then ye.
They're regularly releasing patches as well so you don't have to worry about that.
If you like challenging tactical coop, it's pretty fun.
Man, I would really love to play this, but 26,99€ is a bit too much for me atm and I really can't afford it.
You guys think it's ever gonna get a good price drop or sale before it's actual release?
You're probably not gonna get a better deal than the 20% off if you preorder and you already own the first Insurgency until AT LEAST 2-3 months after release. Maybe the Christmas sale if you're lucky.
Not before actual release, the odds for that are super slim in my opinion. But a few months down the line to a year from now? Definitely. Insurgency 2 went on sale for as low as $0.70 at some points, so I don't think NWI would be any different for Sandstorm.

Well that was shitty, pretty sure the bot blew up a good portion of his team mates though
Anyone happen to know if playing the beta will count against a Steam refund? I'd like to pick the game up now but with two whole months until release it seems a tad risky.
You can refund your game regardless of your Beta playtime.
NWI humbling down and postponing release for two months sold me on buying the game.
I was thinking in waiting for the release to see if it was worthy to buy but then I remembered how many hours Insurgency gave me for so little money and I bought it anyway. I mostly play offline or coop, not sure how modding will work here since I'm used to mod source engine games due how easy is to modify the files and have your own fun.
No. Game looks and runs awful, doesn't do anything new over the source version and in general just feels worse.
Stick to the source mod

Only thing I don't like so far is how blatant the TKing is. I swear, I was in a server where like 3-4 people were going fucking nuts.
Who else here mostly plays just the coop? Only thing I find annoying at the moment is the lack of maps, otherwise I'm having a ton of fun.

There's something therapeutic about turning people into tomato paste
Is the game actually playable right now? I thought it didn't release for a while.
I don't like the new security force voices; I used to be able to tell who was friend or foe based on accent
I don't think there are any new voices. Security forces get 3 voice packs: Male Local, Female Local and American Advisor. Insurgents get Male Local and Russian Advisor.
I meant 'New' in terms of being different from the first Insurgency game.
Every time I hear Male Local my instincts go off expecting an insurgent around the corner, next thing I know I've just wasted one of my teammates.
You get used to it, both sides get different lines and inflections I think.
I don't like how talkative everyone is though. Its a cool mechanic that if you suppress someone and if you're close enough, you can hear them either breathe hard or swear but there's other times where I feel like it takes me out of the game with all of the constant chattering.

The rate at which Sev can achieve maximum tomato paste per round is insane. Here is to hoping Sev's efforts to get the Devs attention on the blatant balance issues works.
Glad to see spawn camping is still a core part of the INS experience.
Why in the world are you able to shoot inside enemy spawn?
