Game is most fun when you're playing observer with a commander using his microphone, or as a commander with an observer that at least listens and follows
Observer in this game didn't have a mic, but responded with the commo rose and followed me around. Fantastic game.
Worst thing is when someone plays commander but doesn't use any fire support, or uses smoke artillery maybe once or twice.
Just spam the shit out of them, goddamn I've never run out.

I play Observer a lot and this is my hell. I've started seeing it a lot since the game came out of beta. Some times I can convince them to actually do what their role is for, other times they're just total deadweight running around with their pistol being tacticool.
I love the commander role, it's my go to when I play Security and my second pick outside of advisor when I play Insurgents, although it'll usually be commander there too if there isn't a commander. I really wish the Insurgents had something as predatory as the helicopters, though. Maybe like an armored suicide truck or a stolen littlebird? No idea, but rocket barrage seems too short sometimes and the drone fleet never works for me.
Yeah the helicopters are incredible but calling chemical mortars on a point that's being captured is amazing.
The drones AI is pretty hit or miss.
Artistic rating = autistic?
I guess they never miss, huh?
Sorry.
Those IED drones are actual fuckers since you dont really know if they'll be a problem or not, I've had one fly into a room on defense through a doorway and kill everything

That moment I realised I had no chance...
Had a good time yesterday playing versus matchmaking for the first time.
Though they still haven't fixed the fire selector on the AK's working the wrong way, it keep throwing me off when I see the selector get physically flipped into semi-auto and then have the gun spray in full auto.
I've been playing Insurgency over the years, it's been a blast. It's just a great shooter to pick and play.
Sandstorm sounds interesting but honestly, I do not feel like it's worth it yet. It just seems so similar, are there any substantial additions?
Difficult to say, I tried dipping my feet in Insurgency's PvP too late, when most of the community was hard boiled and knew all the maps inside out.
Sandstorm has the massive benefit of the maps being fresh, so the ultimate camping spot meta hasn't been established yet.
Though what also helps against that is the new Commander & Observer roles that together can call in artillery & airsupport for Security and mortar strikes and drone bombs for Insurgents.
Furniture is pretty overpowered in this game. There are a ton of spots you can crouch jump to get on top of things.
As someone who exclusively played Ins for the Coop modes is sandstorm worth it in that regard.
very much so
There's only one coop mode currently (iirc they plan to add the others), checkpoint, but it's so much better than old Ins. More intelligent AI (tho sometimes verging on bullshit with long-distance headshots with molotovs), bigger maps, and the fire support options.
The AI's molotov accuracy is getting a nerf next patch though.
Thank god, they can blind throw it from the ground through second floor windows and take out whole squads. I've seen it happen. The screams still haunt me.
Yesterday got me considering if I should sacrifice a bit of performance to run Shadowplay as I got to experience one of those moments that makes online play truly amazing.
On Hideout. We were running low on reinforcements and I picked breacher as I spawned, enemies holed up in Delta, I sneak to the entrance towards the ditch, lob a flashbang in, go in seeing no one at first and turn to pop a fully blinded guy camping behind the door, crouched on a cabinet. Then I entered the makeshift hospital room and two insurgents enter the opposite side of the room. We exchange fire, the other guy shitting his pants and running out, as I circle the curtains the first guy chases me, but I switch to my Sig and arrange his face. Immediately backing out and running up the stairs while commanding my guys to rush Delta as there's only one hostile left.
I reload my guns and head to balcony where I bump into the last guy with him noticing me after I've passed his angle and I get a huge advantage in spraing him down.
And we capture Delta. My hands are shaking as the adrenaline starts waning off.
God damn it felt fucking amazing.
But what has also felt really amazing with Insurgency Sandstorm is playing a multiplayer game that keeps me hooked purely on its own gameplay merits and my own personal improvements rather than operant conditioning and a false sense of improvement by drip feeding advantages through a progression system.
Unlike so many other modern shooters.
Also I hope they add robes to the insurgents customisation at some point.

Guessing the PF940 is a reworked MOO5. Looking forward to taking the MG3 out for a spin.
They've finally fixed the fire selectors on the AK's
Wish they'll update the movement. Running at a wall makes you slide along it at full speed and it makes it really hard to vault through windows sometimes.
