Why's the G36K kick so hard? I'm new to the game but so far every weapon I've tried has had a pretty light kick, except the G36K which seems to have double the kick of the next one down despite what the charts say. I was actually surprised when I tried out the G3 afterward and realized it had comparatively almost no recoil.
I really wish the local play had configurable amounts of bots.
God damn the ragdoll squirm makes me feel bad when I don't land headshots.

I'm glad they're optimizing, but I wonder when mod support will come.
Oh shit, they talked about releasing a custom map editor soon. Maybe mod support wouldn't be far behind after that?

I like what the game is now but I really feel like they missed a major opportunity for it to get a more positive reception by releasing the game too early. Now that post launch interest has all but fizzled out the game has settled on ~1500 players, not too different from the original game (which has far more content, is cheaper, and runs better on way weaker systems). The game is definitely improved at the core and maintains the same feel of the original source release but developing on unreal engine 4 was probably a major miscalculation. You can tell that they definitely treated development in UE4 like source, the smoke is all texture effects when unreal has full support for volumetric fog for instance. Looking back on the announcement you can definitely tell they had a bit of an aww shit moment though when they decided "we can't actually develop a campaign" despite that being part of the original pitch. Makes me wonder what sort of funding they had lined up at that point, of if it came down to lack of expertise. Too bad, I think that would have made the game as a package more interesting to people who aren't strictly interested in the arguably acquired taste of the overall gameplay as it stands. Glad to see some new maps on the way though, the current 6 map rotation is getting pretty stale. I have gotten a few friends to buy the game and we play PvE together, so I am hopeful that it will continue to improve.
i feel like they also cocked up with riding the game's popularity during launch week. it took them way too long to release the first main patch, and by the time they did, most people had already moved on from the game. if they had waited just a couple more months to release, or at the very least put out a series of small patches in the first couple weeks after launch to fix a bunch of the glaring issues, the game would be holding a few thousand more people at least
i'm absolutely bored with it because it doesn't run well on high settings, no new maps or content, and no modding support.
Definitely. The game ran like ass on my rig for a long time, and it is no slouch by any means. That left a bad impression with a huge number of people. Also, still no workshop support kills a lot of replay compared to the original at this point, especially considering the limited map selection.
allah forgive me for uttering these words, but the best part about insurgency was the stupid sound mods. making every gun moan like an anime girl and replacing insurgent voice lines with allahu akbar was peak entertainment
One of the best mod setups I had was realistic explosion sounds and that one allahuakbar mod. So playing co-op you'd hear an angry "ALLAHUAKBAR!!!" and then go "OH SHIT" and then the massive explosion.
I'd really like to play this but the performance issues, few maps, and lack of mod support turn me off to it every time I think about it. It's really a shame, since they seem to have improved on a lot from the first game (not movement though, for some reason)
I used a Bad Company 2 sound mod for source ins. Made the M249 a treat to run.Anything for more BC2 goodness!

I feel like I’m the only one not bothered by only having 6 maps. The gameplay is quite different depending on the gamemode and even which direction you’re pushing
Well, my team only really play security for the most part. The situation is getting better, but I have been playing since the beginning pretty much when there were only 2 maps, and it was *bad* at that point around launch. Main issue I have with the maps at this point is how open everything is, and a lack of indoor environments compared to the last game.
The only real issue I have is the first point in push is incredibly awful to push. I would like some more indoor maps though.

A MARS sight & no Tavor? That makes me rather suspicious.
Considering the insurgents get the ACOG, I've really not questioned why the Devs do what they do despite it making not a lot of sense.
Perhaps we'll get a Tavor later. I had a brain fart first and thought that the MARS would be Insurgent exclusive and that Insurgency would pull a CS:GO where it accidentally implies that Israel is funding terrorism by selling Galil ACE rifles under the profit margin for terrorists.
There's plenty of ACOGs in the middle east, left over by NATO and stolen from government forces. That aspect makes sense.
Funny you should mention that: https://twitter.com/InsurgencyGame/status/1134226159653142528 And it might have been waiting a while too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FndHBuAUgvQ
I wouldn't say they're plentiful enough to outfit vast number of insurgent forces. Regardless I don't see why it's locked to the insurgent faction, same going for the C79 for the security forces. Though I just chalk that up to the devs being Canadian and so they give the Bluefor the C79.
If they're going to add more assault rifles for Security, I hope to see the K2C and VHS-2 that certain Iraqi units have been using. https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/T0EbKxq.jpg https://cdn-images-1.medium.com/max/1500/1*oO321ZKugJszYJaFI-XIlw.jpeg
