I remember the good old days where uncle Vauban could save the day and miss them. His prime variant looks amazing but I feel like he underperforms against any faction which isn’t infested. It’s not my ideal solution, but what I think could be feasibly done to Vauban’s kit without a total rework from the ground up would be something like this: Tesla: The ability should be based on just charges with no timed duration and a maximum of 12 balls which can be deployed at once. remove a ball each time the ability exceeds this limit. Amount of charges can be increased with power duration. Increase the rate of fire to 1 zap per second and always arch between enemies/proc electric status effects. Remove the charging mechanic but instead add an option to hold down the button and deploy a Tesla which only has half the amount of charges, but empties all charges at once when triggered for burst damage. Minelayer: Remove timed durations for all minelayer abilities and replace them with charges. Tripwire needs to actually do damage like Corpus laser doors. Also should be based on charges instead of a timed duration. Amount of charges can be increased with power duration. Shredder mine should at bear minimum have a trigger radius of 8 meters and a blast radius of 12 meters. Armor stripping should be increased to 75% and should be permanent (giving people an actual reason to mod for power strength). Concuss should have its trigger radius increased to 8m and its effect radius to 12 meters. Bouncepad should only ragdoll enemies away from its center, and instead give allies an enhanced bullet jump like Titania’s passive ability. Also the effect radius should be increased to 8 meters. Amount of charges can be increased with power duration. Bastille: Should grant 75% damage reduction to allies capped up to 95% (giving players another reason to mod for power strength and to address Vauban being made of wet tissue paper). Add a hold button function to the power which creates a miniature Bastille (5 meters base radius) around Vauban to actually make him tanky as he looks. Vortex: Should absorb projectiles and store damage like Mag’s bubbles.
to bad it feel like hot garbage playing with bad analog controls
I'd rather vauban got a complete rework. as the idea of some sort of fortification engineer (which is super cool) he just kind of sucks at it? other frames have better defence options anyway, while he is absolutely useless in mobile missions completely rework minlayer and telsa into abilities which actually make you feel like a base builder. for example what if he had a series of proper deployables - both cc options like barriers and slow fields, and damage options like turrets and traps - make these deployables strong and impactful, but limit them with some kind of static 'resources' pool which limits how much you can place and forces you to think how best to defend a given area I like bastille being a defensive buff but I would like the option of carrying a weaker version with him as an aura so he at least has some mobile utility vortex is fine as a generic murderball but maybe they could make it more interesting? if they can spend like 3 years developing a useless gimmick music system for octavia then let us play tower defence with vauban!!!
Wouldn't the problem with static defenses be that players deploy and then afk? Or if it has energy drain, alt tab and occasionally pop an energy restore, ála Ember or Equinox?
Yeah that’s a valid concern. I don’t mean to be dismissive but I think being constrained with finite resources would be a bit counterintuitive especially in endless missions without a means to resupply. Can I explain some of the reasoning behind the suggested changes from earlier? I think functionality wise it could fit in with most of what you wanted, just not in ways which are immediately obvious. completely rework minlayer and telsa into abilities which actually make you feel like a base builder. for example what if he had a series of proper deployables - both cc options like barriers and slow fields, and damage options like turrets and traps - make these deployables strong and impactful, but limit them with some kind of static 'resources' pool which limits how much you can place and forces you to think how best to defend a given area. Under my earlier suggestion, Tesla would kind of be like a turret which also slows enemies by constantly proccing electric status, and it chains to nearby enemies AND it can be spammed up to 12 times at any given moment. But that’s just the sentry variant. For more active/mobile missions, holding down the button would instead deploy the grenade variant of the Tesla which would synergize much better with his other abilities (will come back to this later). As for creating barriers, the change to vortex (enabling it to absorb projectiles and store damage like Mag’s 2nd ability) would allow it to be used much more effectively both defensively and offensively. Since the damage reduction on bastille probably wouldn’t apply to defense objectives, it could be used as temporary deployable cover if needed. His minelayer traps have good effects but you never really get to use them effectively because the blast radius is absolutely minuscule and requires dumb luck half the time for enemies to step almost directly onto your mines, if you’re not already smacking them in the face with it. Increasing the trigger radius to 6 meters and the blast radius to 12 meters will not only catch groups of enemies more reliably, but also allow Vauban enough margin of error to throw directly into a group of enemies and actually be effective as an offensive weapon. Example: Shredder mine is basically Ash’s seeking shuriken but with a 12 meter blast radius which strips armor and knocks down enemies, at the cost of needing 50 energy to cast instead of 25. When taking Vauban’s increased tankyness into account, I’d say that alone is really powerful. I like bastille being a defensive buff but I would like the option of carrying a weaker version with him as an aura so he at least has some mobile utility. That’s what I just said the “hold” function on Bastille should be. It creates a Bastille with massively reduced range around Vauban and follows him around. Last thing I should mention are how these changes would synergize with each other with some examples. Vortex + Concuss: Target’s caught inside the vortex will be targeted by their own allies and the vortex will store the added damage as DOT. Both effective and hilarious. Vortex + Tesla grenade mode: Adds a decent chunk of extra damage to Vortex’s DOT if you need to reload. Shredder + Tesla grenade mode: The Shredder mine will knock down and strip up to 100% armor when modded for power strength and the Tesla’s grenade mode will expend all charges at once, dealing a massive amount of armor ignoring damage. Should make short work of anything under level 35. Vortex + Shredder: Perhaps the most borderline overpowered combination in this suggestion. This would essentially make Vortex’s DOT ignore armor similar to a slash proc, and the DOT is increased by mag dumping into the Vortex with your weapons. For when a group of level 200 corrupted bombards and heavy gunners must ABSOLUTELY DIE NOW.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Warframe/comments/a2l4we/chat_moderation_in_warframe/ it happened again
oh no in terms of finite resources I meant things he currently has deployed, not a permanent limitation per mission. so instead of saying 'you get 2 turrets and 3 barriers' you get x amount of points to spend as you wish, so you deploy 2 turrets/3 barriers or 4 turrets/no barriers or 6 barriers/no turrets etc, and change it on the fly yeah functionally my ideas are much the same as yours, but just from a thematic point of view, personally I think small pop-up turrets that stick to any surface and deployable barriers that impede enemies are more engaging and cool than just throwing various glowy energy orbs around. also IMO traps like the shredder mine should to be semi-permanent fixtures that can detonate multiple times otherwise there is no point micromanaging replacing them when you can throw them directly at enemies I do like the synergies idea a lot to give him a more active playstyle

Can't believe I ignored this game for so long, it's so good and the monetization is even fairer than most paid games. Dumped 80 hours into this thing in just a few weeks. By the way, is the FP clan still accepting people? I haven't posted much here since I ditched my main account on Oldpunch but I've got friends in the clan and want to join em. I play on PC, same name as here. If you don't want to just let randoms show up and join that's fine tho

Done.
Seems like DE got a new employee to monitor the chat mods. Problem is that apparently this person was an already a friend of the chat mods before he was hired.
So basically tuesday in DC.
lmao why'd I even expect DE to do something that doesn't involve conflict of interest in this case
He replied with this. TL;DR: "Yes I have lots of friendly connections in the community, that's why I was hired. I fully intend to put my job above these relationships." Probably won't ease the minds of people that were hoping for an unconnected, neutral third party to evaluate the mod team, since one of the main concerns was mods being too buddy-buddy with each other and with devs to be properly held accountable.
I think people should give him a chance. It sounds suspect, but he IS a full fledged employee. I feel like he'll be less willing to let his personal bias get in the way with his actual job on the line.
For the content of his character, played with him on Sunday and the two guys in this pick up were trying to level primaries at akkad, and he promptly stuck a bubble on the pod and then used twin gremlins to bogart the right most hallway.
An orokin reactor blueprint alert and a pistol riven alert is on for 22 hours my dudes
https://i.imgur.com/6I8Ym7h.png Anybody want to buy this? I don't have or care for the Twin Kohmak, so I have no use for it. Going by the prices I've seen, 100 plat seems fair.
Mesa Prime looks so fucking good. Her deluxe pales in comparison.
The ass-less chaps are hilarious
DE going full bore on asses in recent designs is hilarious and much appreciated.
DE's upping their butt game with deluxe skins and now regular designs. And Garuda looks like she's got assless chaps with certain colors https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/193785/e2e6c60b-de32-466a-b8cd-eea13e246b88/20181130135417_1.png

my Heavy Weapons Guy build will be complete soon enough

https://i.imgur.com/0DcnNmJ.png here's a bunch of rivens I don't want for weapons I don't use. I don't do trading, so I have no clue what these are worth, and I honestly don't really care. just hit me up in game with whatever your best offer is and I'll take it on good faith that you won't rip me off too hard. name is beatbw
I'm only MR6 and haven't been playing that long but the most fun I've had with the game so far is bringing a wholly under-equipped Rhino to the riven alert with a friend and two randoms and trying to be helpful by stomping everything

Someone did concept art for a "Demon" themed Warframe and I fucking need it. This is amazing and it needs to happen. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DuFsYXJUcAAfzhr.jpg
