The final third of Red Dead Redemption's story is absolutely great and very moving
Even my friend who always skips cutscenes and dialogue said that it was the only video game story to provoke and emotional reaction from him
Kinda jarring how the head just disappears when you shoot it compared to how detailed everything else is.
Spent the last few weeks playing through RDR1 for the first time and I finished it last night. I already had the ending spoiled for me a while ago, but damn it was still powerful. I've been listening to Deadman's Gun on repeat for hours now

So I know very little about this game since I've been purposefully avoiding most stuff about it but how much do you wanna fucking bet the ending is gonna be a mirror of RDR 1 and Arthur Morgan dies and you play as John Marston afterward

I'd say this looks too cartoony/over-the-top but I can't say I've seen someone get shot in the face IRL.
RDR2's map appears to be smaller then GTA5.
Played the game for 3 or 4 hours, and damn this game is badass. The game is drop dead gorgeous on a PS4 pro. One thing that really popped out to me visually was how snow looks on the fur of a dead deer as you're hauling it over your shoulder, it's almost like you can make out the individual snow-dusted bristles.
Also, I headed into a gun store and was assaulted with how much you can customize your guns. You can upgrade barrels, sights, rifling, stocks, you name it. You can also customize the metal types for individual pieces of your gun, the finishing on those pieces, the engravings on those pieces, and even have artistic designs carved into your gun's handle.
I spent basically all my money on upgrading one of my pistols and getting the 3 different ammo types for it as well. Gun nuts are going to masturbate to this game

In town, sorted out the preorder ready for release at midnight, snatched the last collector box in the store too
As @spazthemax said, it’s the last third of the game that really shines. Besides some of the MGS games, rdr1 is the only other game that has been really emotional to me. When you hear The Compass playing when you start riding back from the north, man. And the ending. It’s, to me, probably rockstars best game yet storywise (haven’t played rdr2 yet of course).
Street date broken in Germany.
Played first act,lost my hat in the beginning, couldn't find it, now my hair was all messy in cuticles.
Still have to wait another week before I can play but so far the only disappointing thing I have heard about the game for me personally is that there isn't a gunfighter length barrel for the cattleman, the shortest is the standard length one. Everything else I am beyond hyped for.
Got mine and my collectors box, which the actual box is very damn nice and the stuff inside is pretty good

I'm wondering if I have time to see the whole intro tonight or if I should just wait until I can binge it tomorrow night
So yeah I've been playing for a few hours and HOLY SHIT is this game good. It's so much more immersive and complex than I imagined. The music is also fucking perfect.
It's been a while since a game hooked me like this, it's so incredible.
In line to pick it up! I can't play tonight but I wanna save myself the drive tomorrow. Can't wait to get right into it since I've been mostly blind about everything. See you guys on the frontier!

Played 1 hour and it seems awesome, is New Austin open to explore right away when the prologue ends?
Probably about an hour to an hour and a half till you can run around anywhere depending on your pace
Don't feel like you need to rush through the story though because it's really good
Can you skip or disable the animal skinning animations?
Has anyone tried it on xbox one s? If so, how's the performance?
