One of the tutorial missions is you hunting and skinning a rabbit if I have read Reddit correctly.
I got the game. Lineup outside my local EB was at least 50 people, which is a lot for a small, suburban video game store.
Now I just have to wait until my dad decides to stop playing Fallout 4 and go to sleep.
Oh my god it's taking forever for my PS4 to copy and install RD2. It has been an hour and still going.
Got my copy. Now to wait a few years for it to install
I thought the animation would've been something simple like just taking a knife to the rabbit but JESUS FUCKING CHRIST HE JUST GRABS THE LITTLE FUCKER AND RIPS THE SKIN RIGHT OFF
ARTHUR MORGAN FUCKING RIPS & TEARS SMALL ANIMALS
Just got it. Surprisingly the Gamestop I went to was well organized and I was in and out in 15 minutes.
I hope you can't hurt walruses in this.
According to the reddit comments, that’s how you do it in real life.
My games ready to play, well was at midnight as I have the digital copy, can't play till 1pm though as I have work from 5am -_-
And it’s out on Xbox digitally
Walked into GS at like 9:30 my time; and the entire lineup was gone at my location. It was crazy because Spider-Man had more of a line when I had arrived at a similar time.
Anyway, the opening cutscene literally just started playing for me; later y'all!
Damn this prologue is long, I think I’m just going to go to bed and do it in the morning
it it looks fine on a base XB1
Waiting for unbias reviews to pour in before I buy it, looks fun tho.
Yeah it's like GTA V's, there's ten or so slots
Very fun so far but kinda wish the prologue wasn't as long as it was, would rather just get straight into the roaming
I don't know when you unlock it; but the option to manually save is found when you hit start in the story section.
So general first impressions as I just finished the prologue section of the game like seconds after the game world seems like it really opens up.
I can say this is the best looking console game I've played (PS4) and in general the attention to detail is amazing. For some reason I was amazed at how well Arthur's coat was moving as I traversed the environment as well as the way that humans and horses move through streams of water and the way it parts. Framerate has been very smooth.
All the members of the gang seem really interesting to talk to and interact and it seems like it'll be easy to remember who everyone is despite being introduced to so many new faces (A particular issue for me); John Marston was great seeing and the story so far seems very promising. The conversation system is cool and leads to some immersive moments. One time while I was taking a fair amount of time searching a cabin, Dutch yelled at me and Left shoulder prompt came up and I was able to tell Dutch off. Ultimately pointless, but it still stuck out to me.
Both the first person mode and cinematic cameras are great and I'm always flipping between those options and third person. A fist fight with an enemy was really cool to do in first person and felt very visceral to me.
Hunting seems very fun; though I've only killed a few deer.
My only complain so far have been that the controls take some getting used to. It's not always that the game is unresponsive as it it is takes awhile to complete some actions like looting corpses, etc. Sometimes tapping the right should button to take cover, you have to trust that Arthur is going to mossy his way on over to cover when he's able to. I was doing better near the end. Aside from that, sometimes there's very specific contextual actions dependent on different factors that so far have been mostly sticking to memory but I have had to look up how to do certain things again (If anyone can answer, can you quick swap between two different weapons).
I'll probably play a bunch tomorrow.
So guys, how much deadly are the cougars in the sequel?
I have to replay the entire tutorial chapter because my Dad, who can't even figure out how to install games without help, somehow managed to change the login settings on the console so that he's logged in automatically.
The game is really good though.
One reviewer gave it a 7, so
I really, thoroughly enjoyed the 2 hours i’ve spent with the game so far. But after reading your comment i’m going to return it. I’m not going to play a game that got rated as a 7.
No, you're not waiting for an unbiased review, since a lot that have come out are unbiased reviews, you're waiting for someone to just shit on the game for no good reason.
So far the only thing I could possibly point to as a negative is that the controls are kind of complex, but Ive only played an hour or so and that'll be a problem that goes away in time.
Loving it so far.
Is it just me or does it feel like there's some crazy input lag, I'm playing on the 1st gen ps4. Like it takes a half second for my character to move in the direction of the analog. Is this normal?
Woah settle down there partner I don't trust most gaming sites and wait for reviews of people I know/sites I trust, just because he didn't suck the game off before playing it doesn't mean he's trying to shit on it.
One of the few people who seems fairly down on the game is Jeff over at Giant Bomb. He pops up in this video past 1 hour 20 minutes though it takes a bit for him to get going on his dislikes the game. Arthur Morgan, Bane of the West
Of note, the other 3 people in the stream seem to enjoy it. Also of note is that none of the people on that stream are handling the actual review of the game that GB is gonna put up, so no real looking out for that.
