True, I was just seeing it as him looking for negative shit, the pessimist in me came out for that one.
IGN's "review" is pretty retarded to be honest, there's no mention of performance or framerate in their "review" and if you watch Digital Foundry's performance analysis, you know there's some performance issues, albeit minor ones, but a 10/10? No, that's just a shit rating to give out, 10/10 means absolutely flawless, 30 FPS isn't flawless, I don't care if it's console or not, game might be perfect in any other regard but unless it's also running at 60 FPS there's no way it can be given a 10/10 in my eyes.
Jeff didn't really like the first game either, with most of his grievance being about the slow-paced nature of the game (which is alright, everyone has their own taste of what they want out of a sandbox game).
Unless it completely plagues the game, makes it unbearable, breaks the game, then no, the frame rate rarely dropping shouldnt effect the score. Plus Rockstar might send out some patches to fix some of the issues, then what, update the score again? Its not practical.
Yeah, he REALLY dislikes animation priority in movement and would prefer more arcade style motion.
Keep in mind that Euphoria is running full blast in this game. Movement's more-or-less bound by physics, and Arthur's a big guy.
Yeah, which I get and I know a few people like that too personally that prefers their games that way. Which is all fine and it's definitely a very subjective thing. For the things he dislikes it's definitely a pro for other people who prefer that sort of slow-paced grounded feel to things. I remember Witcher 3 after some updates even going about this, with launch version having that slow animation priority style too, and then patching in a new arcade-style motion after some updates.
the amount of customization you can do to your clothes and weapons, I can def see where all their money is going to come from in MP MTX
Yep, I abstain from pre-orders and day-one purchases because I don't want to buy a product that ends up either not working properly like Waffuru is experiencing or is just not as fun. Not shitting on the game, I just don't trust publishers and most review sites. I can wait a couple of days for reviews from friends and journalists I trust.
4 hours on an X-Box One regular, and it's fine for me. Resolution, Frame-rate, none of it bothers me.
I don't have a PS4 myself, but I borrowed my brothers and bought rdr2 for it, but the ps4 makes as much noise as an airplane, is this normal or should I consider getting it repaired anyway?
That's pretty common for older generation ps4s. Mines does it too for Black ops 4 and God of War.
PS4 fans are notoriously loud at times. Sometimes sending it in can reduce it, but you have to realize how hard games like this are pushing the system.
Try clearing out the ducts with compressed air.
Is there a way to check the voice credits without finishing the game? If there is I can't find it.
Imdb?
The ost is amazing, trying to find it anywhere online, no luck for now. There's only a couple tracks on youtube.
What a great looking game, even when running it on a base ps4. Almost no hiccups in frame rate so far and very atmospheric. I have to agree though, I find the controls to be clunky. I like when a game feels “weighted” but I personally feel it’s not responsive. For instance the camera, when setting the look sensitivity at max and the camera acceleration “off”, the camera is very slow and STILL uses acceleration. Maybe I just fucked it up but it doesn’t look like it.
This game is the most gorgeous game I’ve ever played Jesus Christ.
The attention to to detail is staggering. The animation quality is the best I’ve ever seen.
The controls do feel disconnected but the result is that all the animations and actions you take are so well animated, conveyed and believable that I’ve had something approaching max immersion, i don’t think I’ve felt that before.
Also I can’t get enough of the fucking horses they’re so beautiful
The movement feels clunky as hell so far but I do appreciate watching my dude fall on his face like an asshole when I make him walk off a small ledge
I love red dead 1’s main theme. I’m very eager to hear 2’s theme 3 or so hours in and i haven’t recognized any new motifs. The only old one I recognize is rdr1’s theme whistled during the tutorial
I don't own a console, cant play the game...cant wait to hear it once the ost is out
Ol' Hosea is my favorite character so far.
Small update on my situation: I voided warranty and completely opened up the PS4 because it's pretty old anyway and it's not gonna get sent back. I made sure everything was dust free and applied all new thermal paste, it's reaaaallly silent now playing, sooooo much better. Thanks!
RDR 2 was the right game to splurge on a 4K setup for, holy shit
So... game is good?
Tips on making money
only on chapter 2, got a bounty.
should I just put a bandana on and rob stores?
After doing six hours in a single session overnight (holy shit) I have a lot to say about this game, and almost none of it is bad. It's a game that I gambled on ultimate edition for, even pre-ordering it and
waiting in a lineup out of EB Games for fourty five minutes. And boy did it not disappoint me.
Movement feels clunky but baked in; there's almost half a second delay when you try to look in one direction then the next and it all feels natural without overbearing. Whatever things you or other
characters do in the Red Dead Universe feels like they have weight with the physics engine. The most enjoyable thing is to see how developed it is when you shoot people in different limbs. Although
already said before it's amazing on how they'd stagger when shot in the leg, lose their gun and fall back on their ass when shot in the arm, and noticeably flinch if not fall over solely from the pain when
shot in the torso.
The game wholly feels like a West World given life.
just got the game in the mail, hoping i can get it installed and updated to play a bit before i have to schlep my way to work
Anybody know how far into the story we're able to go south into the great plains without being hunted down?
i do like how you can tell everybody is playing because the speed of the thread has dropped off quite a bit
