Uncharted 5 (2020)
Kinda just started playing - how do weapon unlocks work? I had enough money for a Mauser the first time I got to a gun store, but it was locked.
I will say one thing, your character moves like he's in the process of shitting his pants
Probably gated behind story progress like most other Rockstar games. Although I'm not entirely sure if it's worth it to buy any gun really, everything I can buy right now is finable in gun cases and stuff.
Is there an effective way to not get "poor" quality pelts in early game?
I feel terrible when I shoot a deer but it isn't a kill shot.
I use to say the same thing with Johns walk too in RDR. I use to wonder why exaggerated stereotypes of cowboys walked so funny when I was a kid. Then I rode a horse for several hours for the first time and I realized exactly why.
I feel like to bow is the only option
It's hit or miss with me personally with the bow. The first deer I hunted in free roam had a perfect pelt, and anything else after was below. I think the bow and aiming for the head/neck plays a part but I have to test it more. I really appreciate how slow paced the game feels too. Hunting is no longer bringing in a small forest worth of meat and pelts in at once, your movement speed feels realistic and nothing really feels like you're being rushed.

I will say, even for 'realism's' sake, your character just... doesn't want to move quickly sometimes, I'm trying to pick up my hat in a small break in a fight and he takes three and a half hours to even get in place to do it
Clean-shaven Arthur best Arthur by the way. Be a real man
A real man dons a pride beard, boy
Why pickup mid fight lol, that just seems like a stupid idea 'don't punch me a minute mates, just gotta tie my shoe lace'
The compendium tells you what type of weapons/ammo to use for better pelt quality. You can check in real time by aiming at the animal and pressing RB (R1 on PS4?).
This game can be creepy as shit when it wants to be. I passed through the swamps at about 3am in-game time and the music suddenly gets all tense, there’s thick fog everywhere obscuring your vision, and when you use eagle eye you just see gator silhouettes everywhere all around you. I also heard a woman asking me to come to her several times, which I’m guessing was just a random event, but I couldn’t find out where it was coming from. Eventually she just stopped. Not long before that I passed through an abandoned town. There was a barn with the words “STAY OUT, PLAGUE” painted on the front doors, and the music started getting creepy here too. Tried to kick down the doors but they wouldn’t open
just beat chapter 3, i don't think i've been this hooked for a open world game in a looooong time. does anyone know when you unlock the semi auto pistols?
You buy the double belt at the gunsmith
i'm far away from camp, got a $180 bounty on my head. somehow, i will make my way back
Holy fuck I just ran into a gaggle of Klan-members lighting a cross on fire. (Random event) Most satisfying round of dead-eye I've ever played.
I don't take a shot unless it's a head shot because I figured that would improve the quality of the actual body pelt. Also I don't like chasing after the deer for miles and miles to finally make the kill, only to realize I'm out of whistling range of my horse. The struggle of hunting..
Played all day yesterday (Probably close to around 10 hours and love it; love the slow pace and deliberate nature of almost everything, and I felt like I did so much exploring and wandering around and I didn't even make it much further outside the region around Valentine. Not sure how long it'll take me to finish the campaign if I keep going at my leisurely pace. Seems like this is going to be a very divisive game; lots of people not liking the controls (Which I can understand) or finding the game boring.
i am so glad they let you insult someone until you start fighting
I got a bounty on me for looting a corpse in valentine. I should've just given up and allowed them to kill me so I could go pay it off at the post office. I made it worse by fighting my way out of there.
Can't be the only one who gets frustrated by the hunting system. Having to carry carcasses around and such is cool but pelt quality and whatnot seems so random and unwieldy. I've shot deer in the perfect spot with the weapon they want me to use but it'll just drop pelt quality to 1 for seemingly no reason, making it worthless and a waste of time. It's so obtuse and badly designed, even the tracking part is just kind of shit. It's weird with how well designed everything is.
I just want some form of fast travel that isn't trains or stage coaches.
I don't mind the controls, they feel really heavy in a sorta realistic way if that makes sense. My issue is this is my first shooter on a controller in years so it sucks relying on auto aim. I really like the detail of having to press the trigger to cock the gun again. It feels really cool and makes combat a bit more hectic. I imagine it's probably not everyones cup of tea
The volcanic pistol is super fun.
Also no matter what I do, Arthur always ends up underweight. I can eat every last piece of food I have in my inventory and barely scrape by to average, but within a day I'm back to being skinny again. How the fuck are you even supposed to maintain your health, let alone go fat, if Arthur burns so quickly ?
It's not the amount you eat but the quality. If you keep eating the daily camp meals + eat out at the saloons, you will gain weight. If you eat a thousand hard crackers, it's not going to do much for you.
