You can always grab it from the horse instead of picking it up from the ground
There's an option to put it back on if you're in your horse menu.
Also, speaking of horses, I found out you can time your X presses (PS4) to your horse's gallop so its stamina meter doesn't go down
Geoff is definitely the guy behind the counter at the post office in Valentine. I thought it sounded like him from the leaks, but having gone there earlier it's 100% him.
I've tried this but i can never get it to work. Is there a certain way you need to press it?
Makes sense, they do a lot of sponsored videos for Rockatar I think. And also anyone else who will pay lol
Geoff was fine but man it's obvious Jack doesn't have much voice acting experience, he was painful to listen too.
i just take hats from the corpses of my enemies
Nah I googled the end credits.
Where do you craft pelts into coats and hats??
I know Geoff was in the post office but where is Jack in-game?
Minor Easter egg/location spoilers

I'm not too good with the riding controls.
Ok, so I was doing one of the homestead stashes, Aberdeen Pig Farm.
after they started offering me drinks, I left the table, and shot them both. Now I can't access the stash. Did I fuck up? Can I just not get that money now?
The Trapper. He sets up camp randomly throughout the wilderness, and also has a stall in Saint Denis which is always available. Sell pelts to him, then he can craft with them.
At a/the trapper. He's somewhere in the woods and I think he mentioned he also has a stand in one of the towns. YOu can find him in New Hanover, his location on the map is between the V and E in Hannover and then a little above it, to the left of the Elysian Pool. He has a fire on at night so you might want to look out for that if you can't find him.
Okay, I have to rant about a gaping fucking flaw in the narrative in the end-game, so big spoiler:
Did the train-heist, the last one, with the army payroll. John gets shot. Okay, sure. Here's the problem: WE KNOW HE'S GOING TO BE FINE. We played a fucking game about HIS REDEMPTION 8 years ago, it was a fucking awesome game and we all loved it. So you can't spend the next hour of my gameplay time being "ambiguous" to whether or not John died. Dutch comes over, says he's dead, and Arthur swallows it hook, line and sinker. Meanwhile I'm over here in my seat knowing exactly what characters have plot armor and which ones don't. You can't make a prequel, feature the main character from the previous title, and then think we're going to be OH SO SHOCKED when it turns out he didn't actually die. I mean, come on.
Jack is the hotel manager in Valentine IIRC
I'm not playing this game but I totally predicted how it ends quite accurately.
i keep having to stop myself from mousing over spoilers
my mind is telling me no but my body's telling me yes
I don't understand why the same button you use to talk to lawmen is the same button you use to aim your weapon. Because sometimes Arthur whips a gun out and aims it at a cop when I'm trying to surrender. Maybe I don't want to start a gunfight over a $2.50 fine, Arthur? Maybe?
It honestly baffles me in this game that when i'm in the middle of a firefight I feel like I constantly have to fumble with the controls to get the gun I want ready and shooting, yet when i'm in the middle of town trying to do something completely different the game is like "YOU WANT TO SHOOT THE SHERIFF INSTANTLY? HERE YOU GO BUDDY!!"
He's the Hotel owner in Valentine.
Has quite a few lines in one of the story missions.
There is a solution for the gun holstering problem, you have to go to a gun store and equip them on your shoulder and back.
He'll still put them away when on the horse (idk why) but when you get off they'll still be on your shoulder and back ready to use.
i wish there were more trappers around. it sucks travelling so for to give him legendary animal pelts for clothing.
Welp, I'm in the epilogue now. Big heckin' story spoilers:
Arthur handing John his hat and me realizing that was John's hat in RDR1 hit me like a ton of bricks. I called it like 10 hours in that we'd probably "Pass the torch" at some point to our boy John and I am so fucking satisfied with how they handled it. Being able to play as him now just kind of feels natural. Finally got into Blackwater & New Austin as well and I am geeking out. They spared no expense, everything is in place. Well, most of it. Some of it isn't built yet (which is cool as hell in its own right).
Also, John with a full beard looks weird. I don't think I can keep him bearded.
Im definitely going to pick this up but Im assuming that the game is just amazing?
Pro-tip: Arthur having a moustache is the canon facial hair option.
Yeah, I’ve been avoiding this thread for a bit, so what does everyone thing about it so far? I’m enjoying it quite a bit, and am kind of in awe of the detail
I have a few issues with the narrative pacing and choices, but it's the same issues I have with GTA and RDR1 anyway so I try to look past it. I also really hate that they made fast travel essentially useless and that horses have a "whistling distance", but aside from that this is GOTY.
It's not GOTY like all of the reviews are stating, but it is very good.
I'd put it under GoW and slightly over Spiderman for the best games this year.
I'm still fairly early in the game but I'm taking my time with it.
The only thing that bugs me so far is that you have to cook/craft each individual piece of food/item, so if you wanted to cook 5 pieces of meat you have to do each one individually. That involves selecting it in the menu, cooking it in the fire, stowing it away, rinse and repeat. If anyone knows an easier way please lmk.
But yeah it's a lot of fun, definitely the best R* game I've ever played.
