Super Smash Bros. v11 - Spoiler Tag Leaks Edition - Games

With Shovel Knight in, I feel like there has to be an indie rep, I don't think that Nintendo would stop at just a Shovel Knight assist, and as much as it hurts to say, Minecraft Steve would probably be the most likely choice for an indie rep.

I really want Shantae in the game. She has a 15 year history with games on Nintendo platforms and several exclusives. No clue what the chances are. She was doing well on the character polls.

Seriously though at this point I am perfectly happy with the roster and anything else is icing on the cake. I don't really care if some other characters I want get in because the game is already so damn good that I'd feel greedy for asking for me.

Yeah, my most wanted for Smash were the Inklings, and they were the first to get revealed. We also already got the "EVERYONE IS HERE" slogan meaning I don't need to worry over old faves like Palutena and Edgy Pit.

Yea this. Cave Story has massive recognition in Japan as well which I feel is a huge plus. Was Shovel Knight even popular in Japan? I have no idea so yea, my assumption was always that Cave Story would be the pick.

As I said last thread, Shantae getting in would probably be pushed real hard mainly by the official smash ballad, as Pirates Curse was super popular in Japan right around the same time (shovel knight was still in localization hell, if I recall). Considering a recent japanese smash poll had 2B in top 10, I don't think it being on other systems didn't matter for most people. Plus the last dlc for HGH released a month after E3 involved "the ULTIMATE slumber party, where EVERYONE is invited", and I'd die of laughter if that was a hint.

I kind of wish 2B could be in Smash, but the fact she's not on a Nintendo console kills that idea immediately.

Honestly, I really can't picture Minecraft Steve working, like, at all. The source material doesn't give them a lot to work with. Their body is made of boxes, and their face is just a handful of pixels. It'd be hard to animate them at all without it looking awkward as all hell, not to mention clipping issues. They could use Telltale-esque models I guess, but those just look bad, imo. Plus, he'd be a Microsoft rep, not an indie rep, and their slot is already being taken up by Banjo-Kazooie. Right?

Nothing is guarenteed and if you're expecting certain characters you're just setting yourself up for disappointment.

I feel like "started as a GBC game and had a game on DSIWare" has something to do with Nintendo (more than Cloud or Richter), but I see your point. In reality I don't think she will get in, at most a trophy, but a friend of mine said a bunch of convincing reasons which I've been repeating for a bit.

Ah, that does make her a possibility, but it doesn't necessary means that she'll be a fighter. It can be that she's an Assist Trophy too and they still has to be hush-hush about it. It'll be quite accomplishment if she does ever end up as a fighter by surpassing Shovel Knight.

Semi-relevant, i really want for Sakurai or the the devs to have shown a character as a trophy only to later go "u got japed" and announce them as playable either before launch or later as DLC. Bonus points if they are still assist trophies, but if they are being played in a match, Alfonzo replaces them if they were to be otherwise summoned.

I assume the dante "leaks" have been talked about in here? I see a lot of people say that he's "definitely deconfirmed" because matt walker explicitly said "no" on twitter. according to some people NDAs require neutral responses or no responses at all, but we know that that's probably not true considering Nintendo has historically outright lied about things in the works, saying they're not happening and revealing them months later. The leak itself seemed rock solid, though of course we didn't see any definitive content of Dante in smash itself, just a lot of very key predictions that came true in regards to DMC5 alongside the leaker also mentioning Dante in smash and a relatively detailed rcollection of what Dante's trailer looked like. Fake leaks attached to real leaks for the sake of trolling are possible. Don't forget that during the valid ESRB leak in 2014 that leaked the Smash 3DS roster screen, that the leaker also attached fake information about "DLC characters" including Wolf, Snake, and Chorus Kids.
