If we get a direct or gameshow reveal of more DMC rereleases that's when you can start clenching your asses. I would think the trailer would have Bayonetta in it rather than an FE character if we're playing with Kamiya's ever desired crossover here.
I'd always assumed the DLC was just misinformation rather than outright lies. He'd gotten lucas right after all, it's possible he misinterpreted some of the data he'd gotten.
To be fair, with Mewtwo and Dr. Mario coming back in Smash WiiU/3DS along with all of the third party characters, we weren't sure what to expect. The Chorus Kids was actually pretty much
confirmed as being a thing at one point. If not them, a Rhythm Heaven representative.
- Scrapped data pointing to an emblem for a series titled "Rhythm" organized with other fighter emblems.
- Sneaky Spirits (a character from one of the Rhythm Tengoku stages) appearing as a Smash Run enemy.
Interestingly, this is the only enemy in Smash Run to not have a representing fighter in the Smash franchise. The only ones that aren't Smash Bros.-specific characters that have no fighter attributed are the Bacura enemies from Xevious and Pooka from Dig Dug - both Namco franchises whom are represented by Pac Man. The Polar Bear from Ice Climbers also technically had no representing fighter, but we clearly know why.
- Two tracks from the Rhythm Heaven series were added in DLC.
It seems like pretty compelling evidence that a Rhythm Heaven representative was at least planned for Smash 4 in some way and when they couldn't deliver the fighter they just left what content was completed. I wouldn't write it off as "fake leaks" because if they knew someone on the inside it's very possible that the leaks were true, they were just never fully realized.

My dude, they managed to make Game/Watch, R.O.B., Duck Hunt, Wii Fit Trainer, and Villager work out. If they wanted to make Minecraft work, they would. That's the least of my worries, tbh.
If Banjo is in Smash as a Microsoft rep, then the Minecraft content will probably be similar to Bomberman/Rathalos being tertiary 3rd party content from Konami and Capcom and just be an assist trophy and/or stage.

I find it odd that people would want Naked Snake as a Echo when Solid himself has already a canon Echo:
