I admire the gusto but I doubt Capcom is gonna get four Smash Bros reps (MH + Dante) in one Smash game, as much good IP as Capcom owns.

capcom is pretty much the only modern AAA developer with enough worthwhile IPs to rival nintendo's if anyone gets 4, it's them. Capcom is also arguably the developer with the most rich history on nintendo consoles of the current publishers/developers that have crossovers in smash.
What's hilarious is that because of the title, Best Buy's catalog software is glitching out and putting the normal version of the game in the "Ultimate edition" category, so their listing has "Ultimate" and "Collector's" editions but "Standard Edition" is grayed out.
I definitely agree Capcom has the best quality/quantity ratio of IP for Smash, I just don't think Sakurai would go that high.

I'd hardly consider gore and brutality the selling point of bayonetta considering I'd hardly known it was even a feature before now

And the fact is that such a title can hardly be considered "family friendly" when it's practically designed and catered to offend every christian household in the western hemisphere.
How are you supposed to adapt a character whose entire shtick is violent, unfettered brutality with huge guns designed particularly for shredding demons in the most violent and graphic fashion possible to a game where even the slightest hint of blood will cause waves of fainting parents. There's plausible ignorance to Bayonetta or Snake, but Doomguy is nothing if not characterized by brutal, graphic violence.
Just give him the Plasma Rifle, Rocket Launcher, BFG and Chainsaw, it can work.
