Jokes aside, it probably doesn't matter. Shovel Knight made it into Blade Strangers and Rivals of Aether, but still made it into Smash as an assist trophy.
Though Ubisoft is weird, so who knows.
This looks so bad it has to be fake
I really hope Echo Fighters aren't limited to being from the same series as the fighter they're based on, sine a lot of fighters have interesting fighting styles that aren't really shared with anyone else from their own series
That's what it seems like the current theme is, and it does make sense considering the two characters (the original and Echo) from the same series would have at least some sort of connection, which would make sense why one has a similar move set to the other.
ubisoft owns that game now, it makes total sense
inb4 Banjo Kazooie is a Duck Hunt echo
You must be seriously underestimating the 3DS, man.
Yeah, I was actually gonna say, "Is that real?" I've gotten - like - 99% of the trophies on SSB4 3DS and I'd never seen that one.
I knew it was fake but I thought we all were just shitposting
Ape Escape is one of those franchises that doesn't get nearly enough love and attention from the developers nowadays, despite being a huge hit back then. Same goes for Unreal Tournament.
maybe next year when UT99 becomes 20.
The UT4 alpha was getting worked on a couple years ago, but the devs were losing direction and ended up essentially abandoning the project to work on Fortnite.
They might eventually come back to the project, but I feel like the most we'll be getting out of the 20th anniversary is some cool art.
Holy shit I feel old
doubt any self respecting 3rd party company would allow their crossover character to just be a cheap knockoff of a character from a 30 year old one-off title
whats the deal with all these smash clones coming out? this is like the fourth one i've seen in the last couple of months.
Brawlhalla has been around since 2015. Rivals of Aether came out of early access in 2017. Brawlout was also 2017.
They've been around for ages, they didn't just materialise out of nowhere just because you weren't paying attention to them.
Brawlhalla inexplicably is currently the most-played fighting game on Steam, dwarfing even Tekken.
Granted, it's Free-to-Play, but it isn't small or new. It has nearly 30 times the playerbase of Rivals of Aether or 45 times that of Slap City.
Weird, why do a bunch of them share the "Brawl" moniker?
Because Brawl is the best-selling Smash Bros. game and was on the best-selling system that holds a Smash Bros. game.
(Though the combined sales of Smash 3DS and Wii U top it, there were likely less overall consumers of SSB4 compared to Brawl that just happened to spend more by buying both versions + DLC)
Yeah, I guess it's still the most well-known of the series, isn't it?
slap city is still the best one
Honestly Fishbunjin should get a free pass to Smash Bros.
Fishbunjin is what heavy fighters should be in Smash.
If it makes you feel any better, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 becomes 18 in two weeks.
It's been 37 years since Melee came out.
Time flies.
i really, really hope king k rool or ridley are good. or really any heavyweight. i've wanted a good heavyweight in smash for so long... and not in the smash 4 way where they're only good because they have an up throw to up air kill confirm
King K Rool is looking up to be one of the best heavyweights, at least going through gameplay.
K. Rool looks like he's going to be a fantastic heavy fighter, I feel like Ridley is going to be utterly shat on though.
Not sure how recently it was added but they added the Smash Controller 3DS app to My Nintendo rewards. Wonder if that's a hint towards it also being usable for Ultimate?
So let me get this straight, I might be able to use one portable console as a controller for *another* portable console?
*We have to go deeper.*
