so much goofy shit goes down in the phoenix wright games that there is a ton of material to draw moves from. what exactly makes phoenix a "bad idea"? he is a hugely popular character, and there's an obvious audience for him

The fact that there is pretty much zero criteria for what makes a character a good or bad pick makes for extremely circular arguments. "i want x in smash" "i think x isn't a very good pick" "sakurai has had weird picks you can't prove that x is bad!!!" "just because sakurai has weird picks doesn't mean that x is good, (obviously nonsensical pick) is just as good under this logic!!!" And then it keeps going until somebody gives up.

Makes having a legitimately fun discussion regarding characters infuriating most places on the internet. God help you if that site's community has a hate boner for whatever is your most desired character too.

Is the game he comes from that popular? I don't know it just seems like this thread and very small gaming communities are the only people that talk about it.

The game was moderately successful but more importantly it's a Wii U exclusive and was a complete new IP for Nintendo.

wonder's chance was in Smash wiiu - and they ignored it completely because the game flopped. chances are the same exact thing will happen to arms - specially when you consider we already got inkling.

ARMS not doing as well as planned is fully on Nintendo IMO. They tried doing the Splatoon route where they would release a game with little content and just have weekly updates and a major update once a month. But unlike Splatoon that had a single player campaign and a good selection of stuff already. ARMS had little to no single player content and a small selection of characters to pick from. Throw in a $60 price tag and uncommon style of gameplay. The cons outweighed the pros.

While it's very unlikely that he'll be in the base game and even as a dlc. It makes me very happy to see Doom Slayer has garnered a support base to get in the game even if it's just 12th place that's a pretty good amount of support.

Memes aside, if we really added an Undertale character it should be either Frisk or Undyne. Frisk if you want to go with the "represent the whole game" type of thing, Undyne if you just want a legit badass fighter.
