Special Edition is up for preorder at Best Buy Pro Controller If you have Best Buy's Gamer's Club still, the SE goes down from $140 to $118 lol
Gotta get a Switch... Let's see, Smash, Mario Kart, Splatoon, Crash Bandicoot, perhaps Odyssey and Breath of the Wild (although I could have gotten it for Wii U); Metroid, Pokemon and perhaps Spyro down the road... Will be fine I guess.
Don't forget Skyrim! You don't want to know what happens if you don't buy Skyrim again.
aw man wtf there isn't a way to get the steelbook without the controller?
As a aside I have finished Hollow Knight and the Knight should certainly be a fighter. With Zote as a echo
EU has a Special Edition with the Steelbook, Gamecube Controller + Adapter, and the US gets a Smash Pro Controller + Steelbook.
I'm just gonna get it digital. Don't like cart- swapping just to play a short session. Got Smash 3DS digital and definitely don't regret that decision.
As the saying goes, "With the right marketing, you can sell people rocks." Honestly it was a genius move on Sakurai's part.

I'm getting 2 copies. Digital for the same reason as you, and the physical version for collection purposes.
I like how physical games look on a shelf. So I try to get physical.

I see that your a man of culture as well... I do the same thing as I can sell the physical if I need the money but also just in case for when the servers dies. I might have to pick up a digital copy of Ultimate though because it is going to be the one game I want to have always with me.

Yo-yo glitch - SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki
I would, but I have bad personal experiences with game cartridges being stolen, basically my whole life up until the 3DS Even living by myself now, in a decent part of town, that stuff sticks with you

I find it funny how many people want characters that could have interesting movesets to be echo fighters now. Like I've seen several people say Blaziken should be a Capt. Falcon clone.
I think it's mostly people finally realizing that some clones aren't actually that much work on the devs and with stuff like Daisy pretty much being a skin they just hope for the best with some inclusions for their never-ever characters.
It's because they think it's more realistic than having them be full blown characters.
Hope you have a micro SD cause boy Smash takes up space. I like getting physical for collection and the extra space.
I never really got the whole "haha why are people okay with clones now all he did was change what they're called" thing, considering that distinction makes all the difference in the world. Before Ultimate, they'd hesitate to outright say "oh yeah Dark Pit and Lucina are just clone characters with copy/paste movesets and animations" because you don't wanna undersell your product. But then people got angry over clones because of the notion that they "stole a slot" from a more deserving character, either by literally filling the roster or taking up dev time. Ultimate is very much focused around how fans have reacted to the series, so it makes perfect sense that Sakurai would drop the facade and say "okay yeah so not all of these characters are full characters, but they take like no time to make so don't get mad when we reveal them, they're basically fancy alternate costumes". Can you imagine if they revealed Daisy and Chrom exactly as they are now, but referred to them as fully-fledged new characters, the same was Simon and Ridley? People would go berserk. Personally, I wanna see if they'll mix and match franchises for echos (Blaziken in place of Captain Falcon, for example). Injustice 2 has a few characters like Mr. Freeze and Vixen who are alternate skins for characters that they have nothing to do with from a story perspective, but could easily get by with having the same movesets. It'd definitely be something I'd like to see them explore through DLC, if possible. I also think you could make a case for some of the more radical/out-there third party reps who maybe are too disconnected from Nintendo to hack it as full fighters.
...that, and plus - with a few exceptions such as Daisy (generally stupid character) or Richter (a bit niche), the echos are mostly focusing on fan service friendly picks. But, yeah, the official distinction that these characters take up less time/resources/etc is also nice to have too.
The echo fighter designation might have changed absolutely nothing about people saying that there are too many Fire Emblem characters but at least people aren't bitching that their favourite character didn't get in because of Dark Pit anymore.
128GB with more than 32GB left And I can just buy a 256 later if I need to
Part of the reason people were upset about Dark Pit is not the clone aspect, but an extension of the implications of being in, including getting Amiibo Figures. Reminder that Dark Pit is in Super Mario Maker and gives colors in MK8 and Yarn Yoshi while K Rool wasn't in any of them. Basically, the issue was less Dark Pit's direct inclusion as a bonus and more the implications and influence of Smash's choices on the rest of Nintendo's ventures. SSBU is covering fan desires pretty solidly, so people are far more accepting of fluff additions because a lot of people are already satisfied with the roster, and even more will be if Isaac, Skull Kid, Geno and Bandana Dee are in, plus characters like Dark Samus will be getting figurines as a result.
i have a grudge with dark pits amiibo cuz it sticks out way too far and it makes positioning it among the other ones awkward
I've found that if you put him and Fox next to eachother and rotate them a certain way, they look fine and don't interfere with others around them
Man what I'd give to see Rayman in the game... I really don't see him happening but man in my eyes he's a perfect choice for a third party. Ubisoft and Nintendo are close, especially with Mario and Rabbids, a large majority of his games have released on Nintendo consoles (it's pretty much all I played his games on), and people got hyped over the guy with the fake leak. I'll just continue to hope, and maybe he'll get in as DLC if not in the basegame.
