What do you guys think the Republic reinforcement will be? ARC, Commando, or other?
With the reinforcement possibly being called Infiltrator, I'm hoping to see Commandos being introduced. But seeing how ARC troopers have been in the game files since launch, it's reasonable to believe they can be realized as the new reinforcements.
ARC are the best thing in the literal universe ever anywhere, prove me wrong.

I have a strong feeling this is a test for Battlefront 3
Oddly enough, you might actually be right.
There were a few things for Battlefront in the current generation that did not make it into the game. The ability for us players to get into an X-wing, land it, and jump out, fight, and get back in it wasn’t achieved. So we would be able to board capital starships, sabotage them, and fly out before the explosion and stuff like that. That is apparently a development desire for Star Wars Battlefront III, if it should happen.

It's a cutscene, but essentially.
The mode sounds basically like what I think most people expected. I thought the command post "phase" would be split up into sectors to prevent players from spreading too thin across the battlefield. I'm happy they went with adding AI instead. A good sign for those of us hoping for more offline content as well. Having AI instead of additional players also prevents the second phase from becoming too crowded.
The only disappointment for me is the lack of maps. At least it's a new one and not the one from GA (wasn't that their initial plan?). I'm guessing they'll add more maps over time which is fine. It's better than delaying the entire mode. Maybe their plan is to pump out old maps for the new mode as a way to keep us entertained until they have something new and more substantial to release.
F8RGE confirmed that the AI will fight for the command posts, they're not just fluff on the battlefield shooting at players.

Sorely disappointed, but hopefully it means it's coming to arcade with those good bots
He also clarified that while the AI will attack and defend Control Points, only players can actually claim them.
The more I hear about this gamemode the more disappointed I become. Hopefully it's much better than what has been told.
