Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode IV - A New Update

it's never worked like that for a few years. all the other free for subs expacs have been you sub once you keep it forever. I'd be pretty surprised if that was different now.
My my, it really looks like I'll have to get into the Star Wars gaming scene again after all
Yeah. Same with onslaught. You sub once you get it for free.
So one of the info boxes for Fallen Order says this. Sounds like the story path isn't entirely linear, plus it also implies that you can revisit old areas

So apparently in the EU, the Chandrilla Jedi Tomb you investigate in JKA was retconned in 2015 to be the Tomb of the Jedi Councillor Class Character from SWTOR.
That's kinda old news and, also, the reason a dark Jedi consular is my second character in The Old Republic (first being a light side Imperial agent)
I did say 2015. I only learned about ti today.
I played Battlefront 2 Classic on hard mode galactic conquest a while ago. Empire was invading Hoth and it was down to the wire: 4 vs 22. Eventually I was the last one vs 15 NPCs and it was nerve wracking as all hell. :scream:
That's always fun when its you versus 40 bots and your tiny little command post and you have to constantly use that command post to frantically switch between demo and engineer for mines, grenades and health. You can't pull this off in the original battlefront though, the AI has like a preset dial for how long it takes to for their aim delay to be reduced to 0 so if you don't kill them fast enough they'll definitely kill you.
I for sure fear the battlefront 1 AI over the cannon fodder that is the bf2 AI.
Non-linear paths? Revisiting areas? Trial-and-error combat? It really is starting to become like a Souls-like game. It's funny Because Miyazaki wanted to make a Souls game set in the far future some years ago. Wonder if he sees this as a challenge for the next Fromsoftware game.
The journalists are preparing their "Fallen Order is the Dark Souls of Star Wars" articles as we speak, who wants to bet that they'll make jabs at From Software about having difficulty settings too?

At Star Wars Celebration 2019, Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer Matt Wood has revealed that there will be a new LEGO Star Wars Video Game coming this year. There was no details given as it was just a project that he was listing off that they are working on.
I’ve actually known about this game since early last year. It was said that “the new LEGO Star Wars is the most important game TT has released, ever.” The game is rumored to be completely remastered and will feature all 9 films from the Skywalker saga as well as part of the Extended Universe. It was also said that it would use procedurally generated worlds, similar to what LEGO Worlds uses, to explore in space while using hundreds of characters to play as.
can I get this kind of game with disney infinity's art style instead of lego too cuz that'd be perfect
If it's all 9 movies, that would explain why we never got one for TLJ
That and tbh TLJ's plot doesn't really lend itself to that style of game. Like stuff like the lessons on Ahch-To, Canto Bight, the mirror cave are all things that I imagine would be hard to turn into video game levels without taking a lot of liberties and I'm curious as to how they'd go about adapting them.
They'd probably be puzzles sequences.
Reminds me of the old SNES games and makes me wonder how they'd translate... Super The Last Jedi! Jump from island to island as Rey collecting Porgs! Fight the Green Milk Monster to enter the darkside cave! Battle your way through the Resistance flagship as Poe to reach Admiral Holdo, the final boss, and complete your mutiny! Race horse monsters through the streets of Canto Blight as Finn and Rose! Challenge the final boss, Kylo Ren as... an illusion... ah, okay, I can't figure out how that one would go. Maybe you'd have to play as Kylo instead and actually "land" a hit.
Star Wars Metroidvania? Fuck yeah.
Ugh I wish they'd make the HK-55 mission available to everyone now. I wasn't playing the game at the time, and didn't have enough free time to justify subbing for it.
I want him back, I love his colour scheme.
just started playing swtor, first character is a commando.
they really want you to sub huh
SWTOR is, in my opinion, not worth playing F2P. Way too much is gated.
Do you mean the actual hk55 mission or the alliance alert? There was a sub one month reward of having him back through an alliance alert and one for subbing all 9 months to get a mission as him that unlocks Z0-0M, the best healer companion.
its kind of ridiculous. Shae vizla already came back so I’m hopeful you guys can get these soon
F2P is fine if all you want to do is play the class stories.
If you are planning to play The Old Republic for a good amount of time, I'd suggest to become Preferred (sub to the game just once or put at the very least five bucks into the Cartel Market), at the very least.
The game won't stop pestering you about subbing, but the improvements over being Free to Play are really noticeable
yeah preferred status is a permanent thing above f2p and it's fine to play until level cap endgame
According to One of the CMs, BF2’s player count is back near launch numbers.

One of the prebuild sets for the most recently released expansion to FFG's Star Wars Destiny has this in the Grievous premade.
It's very obviously HK-47 art
HK Assassin Droids have been canon for a while now

I just like that it's getting made and used in new stuff
i was already planning on at least subbing to swtor for a month to get preferred, but is this a worthwhile deal? $40 for 3 months of sub plus a bunch of cartel coins
