• Star Wars Gaming Megathread Episode IV - A New Update

I only ever played the battlefront games in single player or split screen and they're some of my favorite memories of star wars games
Not Star Wars related, but this is in For Honor in honor of May the 4th; https://www.reddit.com/r/forhonor/comments/bklvoc/a_jedi_knight_against_two_sithmurais/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x
Yeah I'm gonna need Disney to give Ubi the star wars license right fucking now
You aught to see the For Honor reddit. Ever since the update went up it blew up with dueling videos with SW music attached, and threads discussing to make these cosmetic effects and/or a toggle feature.
Ubisoft is definitely one I'd love to see get to do Star Wars games. For Honor Star Wars, Star Wars ships in Starlink, an Assassins Creed style Jedi/Sith stealth game. Hell a Republic Commando type game by the Rainbow Six team. They'd do more with the license than EA that's for sure, and I say that as someone who likes Battlefront 2 and TOR.
One single company shouldn't have the licence.
Oh yeah I wasn't agreeing they should be the only ones who can make em just I think they'd do some cool shit if they were able to make them. The whole one-company-gets-the-license thing is so fucking stupid.
More games in different developers hands = more unique Star Wars games, including a fighting game in the style of For Honor. The issue at the moment is how strict Disney is with the approval process it seems.
Highly refined Imperial taste. If only the admiral set had a better paint mask and looked a little less like something from the GCW, then it would be perfect. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/2082/121d515f-77c3-4a17-ae50-13f739f8e03f/image.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/2082/fa656bdf-6137-45cf-92b3-6bf7bb00861b/image.png

Finished the Sith Inquisitor story https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/108621/6cdaacc1-0602-442d-86ea-5201e2bce641/image.png
The Sith Inquisitor would be my character of choice if he/she was more about politics, behind-the-scenes manipulations and "A new Empire shall born!" and less about going full space Indiana Jones and constantly setting foot into traps, ambushes and bad Force mojos
I went full light side inquisitor.
I actually really like the Inquisitor just for how it's mostly going into the whole dark magic and artifacts side of the Sith while Warrior handles the other stuff. Though I think it works better as a Sorcerer than an Assassin, Assassin seems more like they'd work for Baras to me.
My only gripe with Sith Inquisitor's story is Dark Side seems kinds meh compared to Light. I feel like it was written more for a light/neutral character. And also the fact that, and on the off chance anyone still cares about spoilers for these stories at this point I'll tag this next bit: Sith Warrior (potentially) on the dark side has their whole first arc dedicated to breaking Jaesa and turning her to the Dark Side. Meanwhile Dark Side Inquisitor? You get the most force alignment plot armored companion in existence (Ashara). You'd think the Inquisitor would be the role that would be more effective at this sort of thing, but no.
inquisitor has the best total fucking dickhead playthrough in the game
Eh. Something about it still felt underwhelming compared to the warrior. But it could be just me. On another note, been getting back into Battlefront 2 again after a long hiatus. I'm glad they cut out the unlock grind for all the heroes+hero ships. Game feels more enjoyable than the last time I played. Getting exp+credits doesn't feel like pulling teeth. But I am on PC so unfortunately some days the inevitable hacker shows up and just mows down entire teams in seconds and everyone reports and bails
I thought Jedi Academy had the best saber combat and could never be beaten, and I'm not sure this beats it, but this sure as fuck would be a close second
EA apparently confirmed on their investment call that BF2 support will continue.
I just want to see message like "No, no more content for Starfighter Assault. Ever.", so my hopes could finally go away.
Don't mind me...just sitting here in vain wanting straight up fleet engagements. Or a faithful Scarif space battle. Or a Death Star run of any kind. Or an actual Starkiller Base run. Maybe a map where we actually have to take down a First Order dreadnought instead of watching one show up for 3 seconds in a victory/defeat cutscene? ...I can't help but feel there were some missed opportunities.
i have a bad case of alt-itis on swtor. i've made about 6 characters so far, leveled each of them to around 40, finished up to chapter 1/halfway through chapter 2, and just end up making another new character. i really need to start finishing these characters before making a new one.
I honestly think OG BF1 is better than OG BF2. I played them back to back the other day after BF1 hit Steam, and I had more fun with BF1. I'm not sure what it is that made it more fun. Though, I don't like fighting against the Droid army in BF1.

BF1 had a tighter gameplay loop, better maps, better vehicles, and faster base movement speeds to accommodate the lack of sprinting. What about the CIS do you find unfun to play against? Other than having superior vehicles, their infantry is rather unimpressive; their special unit, the Droideka, is a complete joke, while the Republic has Jet Troopers with insta-kill EMP launchers, six grenades, and a commando pistol.
droidekas were good for flanking and ganking command posts though
I want them to re-release that terrible Phantom Menace game I remember liking as a child. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Episode_I_%E2%80%93_The_Phantom_Menace_(video_game)
I actually just got back into SWBF2 (2005) this week after about 12 years. Not surprised people are still talking about it - even offline, it's an amazing game. I'm trying to unlock Legendary status on all the awards, does anyone have any tips for that?
That and the Obi-Wan game I remember nothing about that was on the og Xbox.
I owned that, it was fun.
