Wish I had one. Uh, the original I mean. https://orig00.deviantart.net/fbd9/f/2008/036/2/4/tf2_demoman___red_team_by_helmut_de_bouffy.png
Since my two favorite time wasters seem to die out, should I return to TF2? How's cosmetic market doing? How's Competitive/Ranked mode? Will I be able to make some sweet loadouts with ~$30?
Fine, Fine, Yes The game is currently fine aside from lack of big updates, casual and ranked have relatively short queue times even during weird hours like early morning
easily yes. you can get a good set or two for less than that.
I have no trouble getting into casual games at all, but man ranked queue times are a nightmare for me, and I'm in Seattle, only a few miles from Valve HQ
If I remember correctly, that was a problem Valve created themselves. Original I believe they labeled that using the third party tool to trick the game into thinking they were "active players" to get item drops was perfectly fine originally. Then they went through peoples backpacks, removed all items obtained this way and gave out this item to those who didn't use the idle program the Halo with a name "Cheater's Lament": https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/942830821884956947/F24214F0DE088E559B5DFA737046CDB7B9672B5B/ Valve literally painted all the idlers as cheaters and gave the impression that they're as bad as people who used hacks and cheats in game when what they did didn't effect anyone's gameplay at all. So now players were accusing people not using the Halo as people on par with aimbot hackers in game. Medics would refuse to heal these "Cheaters" and people would belittle them over it for no damn reason. Of course, because of that, the people without Halo's did the same back to people who had Halo's like me. They even attacked those of us who were perfectly fine playing with people without Halo's. I still wondering though how people figured out who had Halo's if they didn't wear the item at all now that I think about it... Checking backpack's wasn't nearly as easy... I guess most would just assume.
What guy above? Feeble Oaf ? God? https://orig00.deviantart.net/fbd9/f/2008/036/2/4/tf2_demoman___red_team_by_helmut_de_bouffy.png
I think the idea that valve has not worked on MvM really is quite astonishing. That's coming from someone who thinks it's awful (I mean killing bots is not fun and is only ever difficult when half of the players are total dead weight) and doesn't play it at all. I pretty much beat each level and never played again and haven't touched it since. I do a spot of mapping every now and then. Obviously I'm not a massive expert, but I do think that MvM maps are actually less difficult to make than actual maps. You don't particularly need to think about a huge amount when you're making them, and a lot of tf2 mapping rules don't necessarily even apply. All I'm saying is there's a huge amount of difference in making something that's really fun to attack, and really fun to defend, compared to making something where you're just killing bots as they funnel down a choke (a lot of the time.) Last I knew there was an external program for writing the mvm scripts aswell. So I guess my point is that in the time it took them to make mercenary park I have to imagine they could have made another campaign or even 2. I just find it really strange that valve wouldn't tap into what's essentially free money by making more of the easy content, or even adding community made ones. Surely it'd result in a burst of ToD tickets bought??

To an extent, sure... But if you've played demo long enough, placing traps becomes relatively easy, even at range. I won't go into further detail on the spots, but it's relatively easy to clear a doorway of enemies with your pipes so you can spend the extra second or two placing your trap on doorways.
nukkye ( retired prem TF2 Lithuanian player ) is playing DreamHack CSGO tournament rn. I just noticed him, never knew he played CSGO comp. Pretty impressive to see a ex-TF2 player be a professional somewhere else than Easywatch.
Money doesn't motivate them beyond justifying the existence of a TF team, which lootboxes do just fine. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/fd1b76ec-5d59-489e-8e89-96bb53e09d79/2593.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/d414b8c3-a489-47a6-9323-82e2a3238ae1/20823.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/87125910-b731-46bb-ad44-532441658121/1289.gif https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/0f39074b-1e65-43fd-806d-cc4250d11535/32325.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/b8795985-6cfd-4319-84db-68236c8f6c2a/1231.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/a217c523-9ee2-403a-95aa-dfe5aaa3d5ec/3507.gif https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/7be2cf2c-166a-40be-948b-862c98fc545c/516.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/9b9b9f4d-030c-406f-bdd0-d16ae737d182/4621.gif https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/1891/92e8e429-99d2-4b36-8b19-645e3566a78a/31141.gif
The signatures are a joke from a thread in the video section, give it a few hours and either everybody will get bored of it or one of the mods will snap and ban them all.
Ahh, good ol' cheaters lament, back when people went apeshit to Valve for adding hats. Now It's the opposite.
I wonder if the Heavy update will be Russian themed. Jungle Inferno was jungle themed, jungles are pretty hot, Pyro is a class that uses fire a lot. Heavy is Russian, Russia is pretty cold.
give heavy a taunt where he rides a small bear around the map
Feeble Oaf's in particular is way too big yeah...
I know what you mean... https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/842586361686120693/B8B2F545952DB2ED1A269F8CDCA032D185CC047F/
This is the exact reason Valve originally put graphic restrictions into competitive matchmaking if anyone was wondering.

CS:GO may be better than TF2 in many ways, BUT CAN IT DO THIS?! https://i.redd.it/n7nd65heqi001.jpg
maybe im just a jaded fuck but please dont turn this into r/tf2
Team Fortress 2 with its performance limitations today is the perfect analogy of "you don't look like in your Facebook profile." And don't introduce someone who has no experience with games in general. You may end up with a gf askiing you, twice, when Pixart made a game with guns.

look guys!! https://i.imgur.com/lt6ho5L.png sniper kick the soldier haha
I think you're lost my child. The funny TF2 screenshots thread is this way >>>> Funny Screenshots of TF2
