then again, if you're playing mvm for the profits chances are you would not get screwed by the reduction in prices of tickets. you'd get fucked up by the reduction of value of the rewards.
I'm well aware that the change was valve's response to large server chains being fucky, however this solution fucked over innocent parties too, which is why it was a shitty solution. Saying that community servers ""killed themselves" because cunt-nuggets like saigns and nightpower had their stupid pinion garbage and premium is incredibly disrespectful towards any non-malicious actor.
When it comes to designing MVM-missions, is there a hard cap on how many robots there can be in a single wave/mission?
Well you guys do this either in the middle of the night, or during a working day, or with like one hour advance notification. Not everyone is that flexible. I'd love to join if there was a regular time that I could schedule.
I haven't ever tried pushing the cap when creating custom missions, but there shouldn't be one. There is one limit on how many bots can be at the same time: robots are using player slots, so max 24 at the same time.
You can't have more than 22 bots on the field at once, trying to spawn more means the wavespawns will start waiting for enough space to clear up and this can heavily affect wave times (a simple looking wave can go up to 8-9min because the wave spawns way too many bots and they run out of room to spawn)
Reason I posted about this is because I talked about it with 2 of my friends who have 819 and 1014 tours the other days. They completely agree how useless surplus tickets are.
Un-fucking what's wrong with MvM is no more an "insult" to players with three or four digit tour counts than the marginal improvements Valve made to the crate unboxing system are to those who have burned 100s or 1000s of keys on 15 cent strange weapons over the years.
Random, controversial lurker coming in to ask: What are the general thoughts of an update to Medieval Mode? I think it is a silly generally melee game mode, but I think it's fun and worthwhile. If the game mode ever did receive an update, I thought maybe doubling all max HP (including HP-giving/removing equips) only in this mode might do it? Some benefits of this: Melee Brawls would actually last and are possibly more forgiving/fun. Especially when it comes to crits. (Not trying to trigger anyone here!) Solders and Heavies can survive Sniper's Huntsman head shots. They can also survive more melee hits than any other class. Possibly other benefits for more fun/diversity among the classes. If we were to keep on the idea of "how to improve Medieval mode", maybe enable Jarate, Thermal Thruster, Gas Passer. Enable Engineer's PDA, while de-activating the buildings so they're only used as barricades.
cases and crates don't take time and effort though? anyways @qubestf2 I read too fast and thought you meant ToD tickets, not the surplus one. my bad
It's a choice to play Mann Up, you're not forced to do so.
You completely misread his post, he's on the same side you are.
Yeah, my bad, sorry. Just had a quick peek on my phone lol
I've got some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that I'm probably not going to make that new banner anytime soon. My power's back up, but I'm not feeling the drive do much right now, which sucks. The good news is that I just chose the winner for that one update raffle I made a few months ago during the V6 thread. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/230865036854296588/485137541310185517/raffleresults.PNG @RedBaronFlyer , hit me up on Steam for your Strange Pocket Santa! Also, just for kicks, I'll give a Diamond to the second and last place winners. So, @PsychoOrgasmo and @Jhejh poT , you two need to make thread posts so I can give you each a Diamond!
If you wanted to improve Medieval Mode the first step would be trashing DeGroot Keep and having actual good maps instead. I used to be very weirdly obsessed with Medieval Mode and I know that map inside and out, and boy is it a load of garbage.
I miss community servers
It feels like they could make a comeback with a number of a features in steam and integrating them with tf2 alongside other games with dedicated servers. It sucks that tf2 feels very isolating since community servers fell out of use.

Richard Garfield, the person responsible for Artifact confirmed he's a big fan of TF2.
Great, maybe he can encourage the TF Team to release the update at least this year.
Random crits were created after Valve saw a seminar of his about randomness in games, neat coincidence.
I think I hate this guy now.
me waitin for the sweet update like https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/242166/c8fcfeda-4fc9-49e1-abe0-0de708a7c97d/W5yPjjgI_pvziav-7mHvh3FShOZ_rpPMPi8AF4Alczg.jpg
I have that stuck in my head now. Thanks! I hate it.
it was shitty, but due to how lax was valve and how they never implemented an actual trust system with server owners it was the best course of action in the long run. it fucked up as many people as removing mods from official servers, but in turn it got rid of any chance to use easy to use nasty shit.
Just a reminder that GameBanana hosted a mod based exploit/hack pack and defended it despite basically everyone saying that it was wrong. This alone probably didn't kill modding, but it sure as fuck didn't help.
for what's it's worth you guys can always use teamwork.tf for all your community server needs. it's not official but i'd say it's still really good. https://teamwork.tf/
First lottery I've ever won. I haven't been able to play TF2 in a few months due to college stuff, so you can give it to second place or something, Sorry.
I'm annoyed at how the mural in Mercenary Park looks low quality even on max texture quality.
To be fair, Gamebanana is by no means a bastion of a modding site. It has some great creators and contributors on it, but it also had people only there for upvotes/high ratings (and other people more than happy to oblige).
